"Okay! That sounds good to me!" Lily smiled, looking down at her hands as she sat at the edge of Emile's hand, bracing herself for the moving Emile would be doing.
"Okay! That sounds good to me!" Lily smiled, looking down at her hands as she sat at the edge of Emile's hand, bracing herself for the moving Emile would be doing.
Emile moved the two of them back over to the table, careful to keep the hand she was in as level as possible. He set her down on the table for a moment so he could use both of his hands to start cleaning the supplies up. After a minute he came to their drawings. “Is it okay if I fold this up a bit so I can bring it with us?”
Lily sat where she was placed on the table, humming some to herself. She ran her fingers through her hair in an attempt to detangle it, wincing some. Her dress was still stiff from drying, but not near as much as the day before. She looked up, nodding.
"It's okay with me!"
“Okay, I just wanted to check with you first!” Emile said before gently folding the drawing into enough sections until it fit in his pocket.
Lily nodded, grinning as she settled down some while Emile folded the drawing.
"Thank you for that!"
“Of course, it’s always nice to ask people for permission first before you do things that might upset them.” He said, offering his hand again for Lily to step onto.
"It is?" Lily tilted her head some, stepping up onto Emile's hand. She'd never be treated like that before, of course. Astral didn't work like that.
“Mhm!” He’d figured she wouldn’t be used to that, despite how little he knew about Astral. “Now we’re gonna have to be more careful this time when we go to get food because I don’t know who all is going to be awake.”
"Okay," Lily said, nodding some. She really, really didn't want to run into Astral… "Should I go in your pocket, then?"
“Yeah that’d probably be a good idea.” He said, moving her over so she could slide into his pocket easily.
Lily moved to the edge of Emile's hand, climbing down into his pocket. She was careful to not crumple the drawing, folding her legs and putting her arms around her knees.
Emile started to walk towards the kitchen, humming softly. “Are you comfortable in there?” He asked quietly, looking down in her general direction.
"Mhm! I'm good!" It was all still much better than anywhere Astral had ever put her. The girl hummed some, looking up at what of Emile she could see and smiling at him.
Emile nodded, smiling softly in relief. “That’s good then. I’m gonna go quiet for a bit now, just to be careful.” He said, indeed quieting down after that, not wanting to risk them getting in trouble.
Lily nodded, falling quiet herself. She rested her head on the picture, rubbing at her eyes. This was nice, even if she had to be quiet. She'd done it for years, she could do it now.
Emile moved quietly through the halls towards the kitchen closer to where Simon and Mia were staying. There was a smaller chance of them getting caught there.
That was a good thing. Mia wasn't anywhere close to getting up, and it seemed no one was at all who was in the room currently. Astral was occupied with himself, so there wasn't much to learn.
Well, there was the bits of blood on the wall and floor where Mia had been beaten.
Emile moved a bit slower as he actually got to the kitchen, double checking that there wasn’t anybody in there before heading in.
There was no one, thankfully. Emile and Lily were alone. The girl was doing good, keeping quiet and still.
Emile was probably just going to grab some food for the two of them and then take it on their walk. He hadn’t really seen much of Astral today, and it made him feel on edge. He opened up the cabinet, grabbing some crackers like earlier.
Lily looked up at the sound of crackers, hesitating before standing up as best she could to look out of Emile's pocket at the food.
“Here.” Emile said, breaking off a small piece for her to eat and handing it to her. That would hopefully keep her busy for a second while he determined how much they’d need.
"Thank you!" Lily said, careful to keep her voice down. She accepted the food, moving to sit down again and start to chow down.
Emile grabbed a handful of crackers before putting the box back in the cabinet. “Okay time to go again.” He said softly, turning to head back to the library.
"Okay!" Lily hummed some, finishing off her bit of cracker. She settled down in Emile's pocket, rubbing at her eyes some.
Emile made his way back through the halls, eating one of the crackers he’d grabbed, still alert to any changes in the environment, making sure no one could sneak up on him.
Unfortunately, Emile was in Astral's home, after all. The god had grown bored, and what better to do when he decided he wouldn't mess with Simon but to go mess with Emile?
((Oop- bye Emile :’) ))
So far Emile hadn’t heard anything, but he wanted Lily to stay hidden just in case. It was always better to be careful, especially in a place like this.
( :') )
(You're going to get to see a feature of the palace I haven't told you about yet :DD)
Astral stretched, closing his eyes for a moment before walking out of the living room to one of the halls. He hummed some as he went, fingers trailing over the edge of the shelves he past, rattling the trinkets there.
((Well that’s terrifying :’) ))
Emile possibly heard a disturbance but it was far enough away that he wasn’t worried right now. He sped up his walking pace just a bit though. They were almost back to the library.
