Emile sighed softly. He’d just have to wait and see what would happen then.
Emile sighed softly. He’d just have to wait and see what would happen then.
Astral took his time, it seemed, enough for the girl to slowly start to wake up. She shifted some, curling up a bit to help with the cold.
Emile began to hum softly as she began to wake up, hoping it’d help her stay calm.
The girl let herself keep her eyes closed when she heard Emile's humming. It seemed to be working, the small child moving to hold on to one of Emile's fingers.
Emile smiled softly at that, glad it seemed to be working. He continued his humming, not saying anything yet.
The girl slowly started to actually relax, her head resting on the pad of Emile's finger. She didn't let go, still shivering a bit from the damp cold seeping into her young body.
“Feeling a bit Better?” He asked quietly, not wanting to startle her.
The girl nodded, slowly turning her head to look up at Emile. She didn't speak yet, but she wasn't near as scared anymore, and her lungs didn't hurt as much.
“That’s good.” He smiled softly, hoping she’d be able to calm down.
The girl slowly rubbed at her eyes, looking up at Emile again.
"I…" Her voice was hoarse, and soft, making it hard to hear. "Thank you, sir…"
“You’re very welcome dear.” He said with a small smile.
The girl offered a very weak smile, but it dropped soon.
“Now then, is there anything you want to do or are you fine with just sitting here?”
"I… I'm okay with sitting here, sir, i-if you are." The girl glanced away, curling up a bit. She was scared she'd said the wrong thing.
“Well I’m perfectly okay with whatever. Do you want something to eat? And there’s no need to call me sir, dear.”
"Food… I would like something to eat, please…" The girl closed her eyes, having to force herself to not say 'sir' again.
“Okay then, let’s go do that.” He stood up, being careful so the movement wouldn’t jostle her too much. After making sure she was still alright, he started walking towards the kitchen.
The girl closed her eyes as Emile walked, arms wrapped around his finger as he continued. She hid her face against it, still relaxed for the most part. She would do good to have new, or at least not wet clothes, but she didn't saw a word.
Emile unfortunately wouldn’t know how to help in that department, or else he would’ve helped her out already. They got to the kitchen after another moment and he checked to see what they had in the fridge.
The girl shivered some as Emile looked in the fridge, ducking further against his fingers in an attempt to stay warm.
The refrigerator didn't have much on hand, actually. Astral just often pulled what he wanted out of thin air.
“Hmm…” Emile closed the fridge, going to check the cabinets.
The cabinets were similarly bare, but there were some crackers in one corner.
“There we go.” Emile smiled, pulling the box out of the cabinet and moving them all over to the table.
The girl looked up some as Emile grabbed the crackers, not sitting up until Emile was done moving.
Emile opened the box, grabbing a few from inside and breaking them into smaller pieces.
The girl watched with interest, finally sitting up as she waited patiently. She'd learned her lesson- she wasn't to speak unless told to.
Once Emile had broken it up enough, he handed her a piece. “There you go.” He smiled at her.
"Thank you," the girl said, taking the food. She did her best to not eat quickly, savoring the taste after so long. She really was too young to be going through all of this…
“You’re very welcome. Just let me know when you want more.” He had to be careful not to let her eat too much though so she wouldn’t get sick.
The girl nodded some, her mouth full. She managed a very small, very weak smile as she ate, holding the cracker crumb in both hands.
