Kye unfortunately had left his phone near Derlik, having been excited to spend time with Blake. He probably would have laughed some at Mother’s response though.

“Can she hear us? That makes sense now that I think about it. That’s pretty cool honestly.” Blake of course didn’t see it as an invasion of privacy because well….he’s Blake.

“Not at every given moment I don’t think, but yeah,” he replied, a small smile on his face. “But don’t let that stop you from making jokes, she shouldn’t get mad if we keep it light,” he added.

(Astral, holding his hands up: Does it matter, he's happy now! :D)

((Simon busts out like a few days before he turns 18 though, not even because he wants to escape, he just wants to see the world. And ofc he gets sick right away because he’s been outside only like a dozen times and then his soulmate from all his previous lives has to nurse him back to health))

Blake laughed softly. “Okay I won’t, I don’t think I’ll be likely to say anything that’d offend her.” They said. If there was one thing they were usually pretty good at, it was that.

Kye hugged Blake close again, simply loving the feeling of the other in his arms. “I’m not too worried. It’s you we’re talking about,” he said, smile growing again.

Blake wrapped his arms around the other almost immediately after, a soft smile on his face. “Yes, well, I do do my best to be very careful.”

Kye snuggled into the embrace, a happy sigh escaping his lips. "I'd trust you even if I died and you had to carry my soul. Hypothetically," he commented. What he said was almost concerning, but the boy was trying to be genuine. As a soul, you were at your most vulnerable in so many ways after all.

“You would?” They were honestly a bit surprised. “That’s a lot to trust me with, Kye. Like of course I’m honored but….wow. That’s just pretty important.”

"Mm hm. You're pretty important, so I don't see why not," Kye replied smiling. He looked up at the stars a moment before back at Blake. "And don't you dare tell me you're not," he added, preventing any argument.

Blake chuckled softly. “Fine fine. I won’t argue.” They said, putting their hands up jokingly in surrender, smiling over at Kye.

Kye gave a satisfied nod at the statement, content to simply be. He raised his hands as well, intertwining their fingers together. It was really going to feel lonely if Blake decided to reincarnate. But if they did, he would be okay because Blake would be happy. That’s all he ever wanted for his friend. Despite having known Blake for significantly shorter than Wren, he felt just as attached.

Blake squeezed Kye’s hand gently, relaxing against the other. Thankfully, none of them would have to worry about it for awhile, but when it was time to choose, Blake probably wouldn’t choose to be reincarnated. They liked it here too much.

Alec being Alec, the message was completely sarcastic and condescending. And he knew Derlik would know this. He really would have too much fun messing with the god.

Derlik knew what Alec planned on doing, and he wouldn't have it. He'd play nice, for now.

(he's got a crush, but would understand if Blake felt differently and just be like: I can still love you as a good friend, don't worry about it. I wasn't really sure if it was because you're one of the few people I see daily, so I'm taking that into consideration to try not to get overly upset.)
(But inside he totally wants to just get hugs from dad so his soul hurts go bye bye lmao)

Kye felt the other relax against him and felt at ease. Blake feeling calm enough to simply let loose was a good sign. They were always far too worried about other people than themselves. Though… Kye had the same issue a lot of the time. It took him years to stop feeling guilty when he was given attention, thinking he really didn't deserve it.
