"Alright!" Larkin looked over at Samul and shrugged. 'How do you play whiffle ball?"
"Alright!" Larkin looked over at Samul and shrugged. 'How do you play whiffle ball?"
"It's pretty much just baseball," Samul explained. "We play with the bases being the fence corners there, there, and there." Samul chuckled a bit, hugging Larkin with one arm.
"Sounds good to me. I guess you'll be playing with us?" He asked, kissing Samul's cheek.
"For sure!" Samul laughed softly.
"I'll join too, to even out the teams," Samul's Mama said, smiling. "Boys versus girls?"
"Sounds good to me!" Larkin headed over to join the others. "Let's get em, Samul."
"Yeah!" Samul laughed some, heading over to the home base. He got the bat from Vanessa, offering it to Larkin.
Larkin accepted the bat and stood at the base, preparing himself to hit the ball with a bright grin.
Samul was behind Larkin, not needing a glove to catch the ball if Larkin missed. He doubted it would happen, though. Vanessa was where the mound would have been, holding the ball before winding up and throwing it.
Larkin hit the ball easily and started running, assuming that the game was fairly similar to baseball. He kept running and then slid into third base.
Samul cheered as Larkin ran, his Mama running to get the ball and throw it back to Vanessa. Samul picked up the bat, tapping it once as he grinned.
Larkin cheered on Samul from the base, waiting for Vanessa to throw the ball so he could start running again.
Samul swung as the ball was thrown, managing to knock it away from both his mother and sister. He took off, surprisingly fast as he rounded to the first base.
Larkin ran and passed the home base, whooping and cheering on Samul as he ran. "C'mon, babe! You got this!"
Samul took off still, managing to get to second base before Vanessa had the ball again. She grinned, holding it up.
"Got it!" She turned to Larkin, smiling.
"Alright! Do I bat again since I got home?" Larkin asked curiously. "Considering we've only got two players on our team and all."
"Yeup!" Vanessa smiled, nodding. She waited for Larkin to grab the bat, winding up before throwing again.
Larkin picked up the bat and hit the ball when it came whistling towards him. "Run, Samul!" He called out as he ran through the bases, grinning brightly.
Samul took off when he was instructed to. He wasn't as fast as Larkin, but he did manage to get to home before his Mama threw the ball to Vanessa.
Larkin barely made it to the third base, cheering on Samul louder. He was getting a little tired from all the running, but seemed exhilarated.
Samul was grinning, picking up the bat. He looked to Larkin, giving a thumbs up before turning to his sister. He swung at the ball. Pop up! He took off, his sister running from the mound to catch it before it hit the ground. Samul let out a moan of disappointment, jogging back.
"Aw, c'mon! You'll get it next time, babe!" Larkin called out, clapping a bit and crouching over a bit to prepare himself to run.
Samul nodded firmly, grinning as he was encouraged. He held tightly to the bat, swinging and getting it out past his Mama. He took off, grinning.
Larkin bolted, soon making it back to home and cheering Samul on. I wonder how many more rounds we're doing?
Samul made it to second base, grinning as he looked to Larkin.
"Come on dear, you can do it!!"
Larkin nodded, picking up the bat and tapping the ground with it. When the ball came towards him, he hit it and started running again.
Samul took off, but his Mama got her hands on the ball and threw it, managing to hit his back.
"Gotcha!!"
Larkin managed to make it to the first base, panting softly and resting his hands on his knees. "You got this, Samul!"
Samul nodded, panting some himself as he picked up the bat.
Larkin watched Samul closely, brushing some sweat off his brow with one hand.
Samul swung, hitting the ball. He took off, panting as he did and managed to get to first.
