Larkin followed compliantly, sitting down on the couch with Samul. "How goes it?"
Larkin followed compliantly, sitting down on the couch with Samul. "How goes it?"
Mama looked up, smiling some.
"Much better, now that you boys are here. It's been too long since you've visited."
Larkin smiled gently. "It has been, yeah. It's good to see you guys again too. I'm sure we'd be over all the time if it was a bit closer." He laughed softly.
Mama chuckled some.
"I'm sure as well. Hopefully we'll be able to move into a closer, better house eventually."
"Yeah, maybe. I'm not sure we can afford to move any time soon." Larkin laughed weakly.
"Yes, that's completely understandable." Mama nodded, laughing weakly herself.
"We all make it work," Samul said, kissing Larkin's cheek.
"Mhmm. It gets kinda hard this time of month because I have to eat more than usual, and pretty much only meat…" Larkin sighed softly. "Not exactly cheap."
"We'll send the things we can to help out," Mama said. "We know it isn't easy, and we want to support you too. You boys do so much for us already."
Larkin smiled weakly and nodded. "You really don't have to, ma'am… we manage okay despite it."
"Nonesense. We can afford to send over some candied bacon every month." Mama winked, smiling.
"Well, I wouldn't stop you." Larkin smiled sheepishly, unable to keep his tail from wagging a bit.
Mama laughed softly.
"Samul, I think you should look under the sink," She said, looking to her son with a wink.
Larkin looked a bit confused, glancing between the sink and Samul. "Hmm? What's under the sink?"
"Oh? Oh!" Samul chuckled some, moving over to the kitchen sink in the other room to grab the bag he found underneath.
Larkin watched Samul closely, still seeming very confused. "Samul? What's that?"
Samul opened the bag, holding up a piece of candied bacon.
"A gift, from us," Mama said, laughing some. "Made them myself."
Larkin grinned brightly, his face lighting up. "Oh! Thank you very much, ma'am!" He dipped his head politely in thanks.
"You're welcome!" Samul made his way over, offering the piece of bacon to Larkin with a sweet smirk.
Larkin quickly took it from him, obviously pleased and content to snack on the pieces for a while. "Mmmm~…"
Samul laughed some, taking Larkin's hand and leading him over to the couch to sit down together.
Larkin happily followed Samul, still eating the candied bacon. "What're we gonna do now?" He asked.
"Movie night?" Mama suggested. "We've got Netflix and Disney plus, we could find something."
"Sure, sounds good to me! I'm down for anything." Larkin shrugged and kept eating.
Samul wrapped his arm around Larkin, nodding.
"Yes, let's." He leaned over, kissing Larkin's cheek.
Larkin huddled up against Samul's side happily, still eating the candied bacon whenever it was offered to him.
Samul didn't give Larkin much, but he did keep the bacon coming, fingers running through Larkin's hair occasionally as his mama got the streaming service up.
Larkin seemed pleased enough with the attention, more than happy to just quietly eat and watch the movie.
Samul turned his attention to the movie, hand falling to Larkin's neck. He massaged it, as best he could, around the collar. He hummed happily, offering another bit of bacon.
Larkin hummed contentedly, closing his eyes while Samul pet him. "Mmmm~…" He nuzzled against Samul affectionately, seeming pleased.
A smile grew on Samul's face as he pet his boyfriend, leaning into the nuzzling and kissing his head.
"Love you, dear," he said softly.
