“Yesterday. Before I got here.” He replied simply. He could hold out on resting if he really needed to.
“Yesterday. Before I got here.” He replied simply. He could hold out on resting if he really needed to.
"I see…" Astral let out a soft breath. "I think I'm going to go try to get some rest myself," he admitted.
"Before I go talk with Simon."
He nodded. That reassured him a bit. “Where do you want me to be while you do that?”
"As long as you're in the palace, you can be wherever you want," Astral said, moving to stand.
He nodded. “Alright then.” He said, watching Astral stand up.
Astral looked to Emile one last time, then turned. He'd have to sleep in his room, then. He wasn't going to ask Emile to move out of the living room. Besides… there were worse memories out there than in the bedroom. The people were still out in the living room.
Of course Emile had full intentions of wandering around after Astral went to sleep so that sucked. He was currently debating on whether or not he should try to contact Alec, just to let him know he was okay, so the demon wouldn’t come breaking through the door in a few days.
Astral yawned softly, moving into his room and closing the door. He didn't let himself think, laying down. He didn't let himself think, closing his eyes. He didn't let himself think, but his body remembered, and he was repulsed. Still, he did his best to fall into a fitful sleep.
Emile meanwhile, was very conflicted and was trying to walk it off, making sure to avoid the parts of the palace where he knew Simon and Mia would be. Technically….contacting Alec didn’t violate any part of their contract?? And he wasn’t trying to escape so it should be fine?? But he also couldn’t afford to lose Astral’s trust.
((Emile’s literally me trying to sneak around my parents rules lmao))
(Lmao me too XD)
Astral wouldn't have cared, so long as Emile actually didn't try to run. It would have been good to ask, it would have given Astral a bit more trust, he probably wouldn't have even stayed for the contact part. But, now, he was in fitful sleep, and it wouldn't be best to try to wake him up.
Emile decided he’d just go ahead and do it now, and tell Astral about it later. Besides, he really wanted to talk to Alec. He missed him already. At this point, Emile wandered into an empty room, closing the door behind him while he prepared to make the call.
Astral was doing his best to keep asleep, but it wasn't long before he sat up, breathing heavily and sweat beading down his face. He breathed deeply to calm himself and clear the nightmares from his mind, hand going to his forehead. He wasn't going to get any sleep here, was he.
And Emile was once again hesitating. He really needed to keep Astral’s trust or this could all go downhill so quickly. He could…he could just wait a few hours until Astral woke up and ask him then. He let out a soft sigh.
Astral got up out of the bed, moving to leave the room. It was a mistake to have tried to sleep in there. With his bags still under his eyes, he moved into the kitchen, getting himself a drink.
Emile wandered back out of that room, continuing to wander around for a bit longer, figuring out the lay of the land until he eventually wandered back into the main area where Astral was. “Oh hey. You up already?” It really hadn’t been that long.
"Had a hard time staying asleep." Astral moved to go sit down, glass held in his hands. "I probably won't be getting any in that room any time soon." The god looked down at his water, sighing softly.
“Mm…That’s unfortunate.” He said, walking closer to Astral, leaning against the counter. “Hey I was meaning to ask you. Is it okay if I contact the people I was staying with, just to let them all know that I’m okay? Because if I don’t get in touch with them soon, one of them will show up here and they’re a lot less….reasonable than I am.”
Astral looked up, listening.
"That sounds fine by me, so long as you don't try to leave. I'm perfectly okay with you keeping in touch with them." The god hummed some, looking down.
Emile nodded, glad that the god had actually said yes. “Thank you, I really appreciate it.”
"You're welcome." Astral finally took a drink of his water, setting it down. He didn't reply any further, falling into silent thought.
“Okay then…I’m gonna go do that and then I’ll be back. If that’s okay with you.”
"It's perfectly fine with me." Astral didn't care, really, so long as Emile didn't try to leave. The god didn't look at the man next to him, looking down at his water.
Emile nodded, quietly making his way out of the room, trying to find somewhere where he’d have a bit of privacy. Once he finally did find an empty space, he pulled one of the knives he currently had on him and with no hesitation whatsoever, slashed his forearm. The cut wasn’t super deep but of course, with this being a demonic way of communication, it required blood. He touched his other hand to the cut, getting enough blood on his fingers to begin drawing a pattern on a different part of his forearm.
Astral didn't react much when Emile, but his head lifted some.
"Blood?" He said softly. What kind of communication? You- you know what, he wasn't going to ask. Other religions had weird rules.
“Yeah. Don’t worry it cleans itself all up afterwards.” He said, pretty used to it so he didn’t even think about how absurd it must look. Hell was just super edgy like that.
"Alright, then." Astral shook his head some again. Edgy, indeed. Whenever humans tried to make contracts with gods all they had to do was write a freaking letter addressed to them.
Astral had accepted most, of course, those stupid enough to demand things of him in a special box under his bed.
Emile hummed softly as he continued to draw the symbol on his wrist, finishing after another moment. “Oh yeah also sorry in advance for how loud it’s probably gonna be.” He said to Astral with an apologetic smile.
"That's alright," Astral said, waving his hand a moment. "I won't mind." the god looked down at their glass again, falling silent so he wouldn't interrupt the other's call.
Emile muttered a few words under his breath and the call connected. “Hello???” Emile said questioningly, surprised because for once it was actually quiet. After a moment there was a response.
“Emile! Are you okay?”
Emile chuckled softly, a smile instantly coming to his face at hearing Alec’s voice. “Yeah Yeah I’m fine. Were you worried about me?”
“Uhh nope definitely not.”
“YES HE WAS, THE WHOLE HOUSE IS CLEAN.” A different voice yelled from the background and Emile laughed. There was an audible sound of someone getting hit by something, and a loud ‘ow!!’ that followed before Alec spoke again.
“Anyway, you sure you’re fine? And Simon’s okay?”
“Yeah…yeah we’re both doing okay at the moment.”
“So what’s the bad news, you wouldn’t be calling otherwise.”
Emile sighed gently. “Well it seems I’m gonna be here for awhile.”
Alec’s voice, which had grown more relaxed, instantly sounded more tense again. “What? Why?”
“I’m just gonna help out for awhile, and Astral wants me to stay here.” Before Alec could say anything else, most likely some very not nice things about Astral, Emile quickly added on. “He’s here right now by the way so play nice.”
Alec sighed heavily before grumbling out “fine.”
((Also yes Alec stress cleans and it’s hilarious))
