(Fair enough. For me, it's the role they play in the story that's the most important part. And the personality they have. If I can't write them without knowing that, that scene, at least, comes to a screeching halt.)

Gwen shook her head thoughtfully. “No… I don't think so. I’ve walked that trail a dozen times before and I can’t remember it being that quiet.” she told him, fairly sure. Though she would admit to being a little paranoid because of the attack. Gwen snatched the paper, her eyes widening as she read it. “Well, he's going to have to get used to waiting. I… I’m not going back until I earn my title as a warrior.” she stated, her hands trembling as she thought of who else might come after her. She wasn't really scared for herself but the people here who cared for and took her in.

Sirus stood after he finished searching Drake's corpse, "Understandable, but how do you plan on dealing with the other that will come?" he asked, wanting to hear her input before trying to figure out any solutions. "I can guarantee you not all of them will be as easy to deal with as this lot."

Gwen mulled over the question for a while before answering. “Well, the tribe is nomadic. If it took this long to find me this time then moving would buy the tribe more time.” she hoped as she started pacing. “Obviously, we'll have to show this to the Cheif and chances are that he’ll agree that the tribe has to move…”

@StarryWolfy flash_on

Sirus nodded, "Except moving the tribe won't keep them safe for long." He looked back at Drake thoughtfully, "It'll only be a matter of days before the next ones show up, depending on how quickly they were recruited.

Gwen sighed in acknowledgement and looked at the contract again. “It’s not the tribe they'll be looking for.” she said softly. “What if I left? The tribe would still move but I could take my warrior trial and head in a different direction.” she suggested, a bit reluctant to actually leave… But she could always try to find them again.

Gwen shrugged a little at his gesture since she was just making this plan up as she went along. “I’d have to get the Cheif to agree with that but… When someone goes away for their trial, if they live alone, their tent is taken down and stored with their family while they get something smaller and simpler to take.” she explained. “And remember what I said about this came last for a couple months? If mine is that long, then the bounty hunters should have no reason to keep bothering the tribe.” she paused for a moment and sighed. “The only problem I can picture is Merik. I'm not certain if he would sell me out… Even if he did, chances are he wouldn't know where I’m going.”

@StarryWolfy flash_on

Sirus nodded in approval at this, "That may actually work, and unless this Merik knows where you're going, then no, you shouldn't have any problems avoiding them so long as you laay low and keep moving."

Gwen shook her head. “Only the Chief, myself, and my mentor would know… Ah, damn.” she grumbled as she realized something important. “Corbin can't know because he's hurt. He won’t be able to come with me.” she explained.

@StarryWolfy flash_on

Sirus hummed, "I'm assuming he would have to come with you… is there anyone else who could replace him in the tribe?" he asked, if there isn't anyone…. No. It's unlikely the tribe chief will allow me to accompany her alone. Not if he knows anything about Nightshade. He sighed internally, wanting to help but not sure how.

@FanfictionFanatic-The-Elder group

Gwen nodded. “The Chief can pick any warrior from the tribe to go on these trials if the mentor is unable to go.” she confirmed, though she wasn't comforted by that fact. Corbin had been the only one who had been willing to train her. She didn't know what the others would be like.

@StarryWolfy flash_on

Sirus sighed, "Alright, well… I think the first thing to do is to take this to your chief immediately. We'll see what he says before we go any further, then make plans from there." he watched her face to see if she agreed with him. And hopefully I don't regret getting myself involved in this…

@FanfictionFanatic-The-Elder group

“The sooner, the better.” Gwen nodded a few times quickly as she agreed completely with the fact that the Cheif needed to know all of this. “Wait, what do you mean by that?” she asked in confusion. She had figured that he would be going with her to talk to the Cheif but beyond that… She wasn't sure.

@StarryWolfy flash_on

(Ah Frick, Accidentally lost this for a bit)
.
Sirus gave her a confused look in return, not entirely sure what she meant. He also didn't realize he'd said that last bit out loud either, so that was probably why. That and he was also still questioning why he was even planning on assisting her, especially since he had his own problems to deal with.

@FanfictionFanatic-The-Elder group

(It's ok. Glad you found it before I bumped it 😉)

“You said “before we go any further”… Do you have any idea about what to do after we talk to the Chief?” Gwen asked at his confused expression. A part of her hoped Sirus would stick around but she wouldn't be surprised if he had to leave and go somewhere on his own.

@StarryWolfy flash_on

(Yea, me too! XD)
.
Sirus blinked, then shook his head a little, "I… I'm not sure yet." he answered finally, not wanting to lie to her, but not wanting to say what he was thinking just yet. "Let's see what the chief says before I get to that…" he said, floundering a little.

@FanfictionFanatic-The-Elder group

“Ok.” Gwen nodded softly. “That sounds like a good start.” she said before starting back towards the camp, thinking that whatever plan he might have was dependent on what the Chief told them after they informed him of what happened earlier.

@StarryWolfy flash_on

Honestly, his plan was more dependent on the author, meaning it was already going a certain direction. But how it got turned in that direction did more or less hinge on the chief's reaction. Kinda.

@FanfictionFanatic-The-Elder group

Gwen continued to lead back to the camp, a little nervous about how things might turn out once they told the Chief the plan… Well, technically it was her plan but she didn't often get to speak to the Chief. So far she had only spoken with him twice, maybe three times; when she first arrived, when she started training, and that brief time when she became a hunter.

@StarryWolfy flash_on

(Please excuse me if there is extra snark. I've had an AWFUL week.)
Sirus shifted as he trailed after Gwen, padding by her side trying to think over his next moves, and weigh out the risks for both of them.

@FanfictionFanatic-The-Elder group

(You’re fine. Sorry to hear about your week though.)

Gwen didn't mind Sirus’s change. She was still a bit preoccupied with everything at the moment. The thought of possibly going on her final test, of leaving the one place that felt most like a home for… who knows how long, and the concern of who would lead/guide her. It didn't take too much longer before they reached the camp.

@StarryWolfy flash_on

Sirus padded alongside her, his pawsteps nearly silent as he let her lead them further into the village. His ears were tilted back slightly until he realized it and shook himself in annoyance, disgusted by the old habit.

@FanfictionFanatic-The-Elder group

Gwen briefly noticed the action but assumed that Sirus was nervous as well. She did her best to ignore everything and everyone else as they approached the Chief’s tent. It was bigger than most of the other tents and much more decorated but there was a unique warmth emanating from it. “I have important information to give the Chief.” she said, her voice surprisingly steady as she announced herself. Though she didn't mean to exclude her companion and wanted him to be able to come with her if he had anything to say.
