"People with agendas are kindest. Just keep an eye out. Blake approached me the other night, got to know a few things about me. He tried tempting me into selling you guys out because your auras are enticing to him, and he believes they could make his life simply more interesting."
I stood up, but nearly fell again. I braced my self on the wall. “Di.. did y..you a..agree?”
Nathan looked at her sharply. "No. I've made that mistake before." he said, managing to keep his voice steady.
"And so this Blake guy sent out somebody else to collect instead?" Luke asked. "I get it."
"I'll bet they're weak," Crash grumbled. "I could take 'em."
Nathan nodded. "If he takes your aura, you're not physically hurt, but you lose your bearings for a while along with all childhood memories." He glanced at Maddie.
I pulled myself up and walked to Nathan. I was smaller then him. I looked up at him quizzingly. “Come with me” I told them, I led them through the caves and to a cave pool. Gems glowed all around and vines hung from the roof.
“Maybe losing childhood memories isn’t that bad” i said.
Nathan followed, awe unfurling in his chest. "This is a beautiful place." he breathed.
"Ooh, shiny," Luke remarked. "I suppose you'd be mad if I tried to sell these in the city."
He registered Maddie's answer. "That's what I thought you'd say."
Crash looked confused. "Why would anyone want my memories?"
He shook his head. "He'd use it against people you've known. Leverage is all I guy like that wants."
I took of my clothes, now standing in my under clothes in front of 3 boys in only my underware. My scares were revealed but i didnt care. I jumped in the water.
Luke blinks rapidly. "Insensitive of me, but it's gonna be awkward if she tries to drown herself right now."
"Shut up," Crash growled. "She's a good swimmer."
Nathan watched Maddie undress and jump, unfazed. It was the scars that bothered him; they were terrible. He quickly followed suit and slipped into the cool water.
I came up and floated on my back, still not talking to them. I traced my hands over my scars.
Nathan tread water by the rocky shore, silently and slightly awkwardly watching Maddie.
Luke shrugged. "I guess I've got nothing better to do." He joined you, soon followed by Crash, who had turned into a dingo again.
“Why me.” I whispered. I dived under the water and shot up a shot of my magic, creating a glimmering dragon, transformed it into a blossom then made it disappear.
Nathan glanced over at the boys, confused as to whether he'd imagined the sentence and what it meant.
Luke floated by, looking perfectly relaxed. "To be honest, I stopped asking myself that question long ago. Fate is a jerk to everyone somehow. Best to just try and survive without asking questions." He sighed. (This is the last time I'll be on tonight, have fun guys! ^^)
I swam over to the other side, and picked up a blue gem. I dropped it quickly when my darkness clouded the colour.
(Ok, reply when you can :) )
I looked at it then placed it back on the rock.
"Why are we here?" Nathan asked quietly.
I looked at him, contemplating my answer. “We were ru..running and need some where safe.” I asked. “It’s my only safe place.” I said quietly. I looked at my scars. The scars that littered my body. I was hidious.
I smiled. “I’ve never soon this place to anyone before.” I said. “But i guess I’ve never had anyone to show it to.” My smiled faded.
