Tanrial smiled and shrunk her wings back in, “I guess,” She waved her hand and the glamour she put on the cabin disappeared. It was fairly small and wooden but, nice. She inclined her head, “Come on, I have stuff to heal your wounds inside.”
"Oh, yes please. Sign me up." Bernon got up and followed her into the cabin.
Inside Tanrial waved her hand and the lights lit up, as well as the fire. Books were littered all over the floor, ranging from ones in English to her native language. On one wall was a massive cupboard, “Sit,” She told Bernon as motioned to the seat by the fire. She opened the cupboard, potions of different sizes and colours scattered across the shelves, “Sorry ‘bout the mess.” She said, head in the cupboard now.
Bernon sat, grooaning. "Oh, don't worry about it, it makes me feel less guilty about dripping blood on your floor. So, you're kind of an herbalist, then?"
“If that’s what you want to call it then yes. I thought I had something back here… ah, got it!” She pulled out a vile of liquid that resembled much of the sea. It had swirls of greens and blues swimming round, “I’m using my last batch on you, you know.” She sat in front of him and started to take off the first bandage.
"Is it hard to make? I'm sure I could figure something else out, if you don't want to waste it on a total stranger."
Tanrial shrugged, “It’s easier then a lot of the stuff in the cupboard.” She dabbed some of the liquid onto a cloth, “This might sting.” She dabbed it on the wound.
Bernon's face tightened a little, but he didn't flinch away. "I guess you were right about those Evyns and how hostile they are. Usually if I have a few minutes to talk I can make friends with almost anybody."
“Most of them are fine but Thranion, god knows how long he would have taken to kill you.” Once she had finished cleaning, the wound tightened and left a small scar, she set to work on the other.
(brb having supper right quick)
(I return) Bernon turned so Tanrial could reach the injury easier. "So….are you and Thranion related? Or no?"
“No, we’re not. He’s just a… guard of sorts. Never liked him, he didn’t like the fact I had more ‘power’ then him.”
"I get it." Bernon stayed quiet for a minute, debating. "Do you have any siblings?"
Tanrial was silent, “No.”
"Ah. Okay. Sorry, I didn't mean to pry."
“It’s fine, honestly. Just, they’re not by family anymore.” She finished cleaning the wound and it healed the same as the other. Tanrial wander over to the cupboard to put the vile back.
Bernon rolled his shoulder, feeling much better. "Wow," he remarked, deciding to change the subject. "That's powerful stuff. Wish I'd known about this a few weeks ago when I got my foot torn open on a rock."
“Ah, yeah. It does come in pretty handy,” She swished the remains liquid around, “Take it.” She threw the vile to Bernon.
"Woah, really? Thanks so much!" He beams at you. "Do you have a recipe I can copy down, or is it something I wouldn't be able to prepare?"
“You’d be able to make it, here,” Tanrial scrabbled around with some papers on the table until she found the recipe she needed, “Oh, just make sure to add some Yarrow. The activated charcoal isn’t strong enough by itself.”
"Okay." Bernon fished out a small, water-stained notebook and carefully copied down the recipe, making a note in the margins about the yarrow. "Is it magic somehow? I'm not sure how it works."
“Well, the mix of camomile and…” Tanrial fumbled for a small leather bag with some black marble stones in them, “these, give it property to seal the wound quickly, and give it that look. Other then that everything else is natural.”
"Ohhh." Bernon peered at the stones. "That's so cool." He shook his head. "The world sure is changing. When I was little, nobody knew about magic. Now it's everywhere. I guess there's ups and downs to that."
“I guess. I could teach you, about magic, if you want. I don’t know, sorry stupid idea.” Tanrial rubbed the back of her neck in embarrassment for suggesting it.
He blinked in surprise. "Can ordinary humans learn magic? I kinda thought it was something you were born with."
“Everyone has magic of some kind. Some aquire it easier then others, some live their whole lives not knowing they have any, which is most people. It’s just a matter of finding your…area.” She smiled with embarrassment
His face lit up. "Tanrial, I would be honored if you would teach me! That would be amazing! How do we find out what my area is?"
She grinned, “There’s a few ways. You said you wanted to go into town, to see the markets, right?”
"If it's safe and okay with you."
