He nods and pulls out of the neighborhood and to the store. He hums as he does so, drumming his fingers on the steering wheel as he does so.
He nods and pulls out of the neighborhood and to the store. He hums as he does so, drumming his fingers on the steering wheel as he does so.
Saffi looks down at her lap and sighs, mumbling something inaudible.
"I'm sorry, about what happened." He says softly, pulling into the store parking-lot. "C'mon." He smiles at her. Jason jumps out, giggling softly.
"Yeah…me too," she says stepping out of the car. Saffi pulls some money out of her pocket.
He smiles, "I can pay. You've been saving. Save that at least." He rarely mentioned money. Secretly, his parents were filthy rich due to their owning of a huge thriving business in Europe. He asked his parents if they could have a simple school and home, so while they were in Europe, they agreed to the terms.
"You shouldn't have to…I wouldn't want to…" her voice trailed off. She played with her bracelet like she always did when she was embarrassed.
"I don't mind." He says, smiling softly. "I offered to bring you here." Jason nods, "Please! I wanna help!" He smiles at Saffi.
"Awee, of course, you can help," she says. She kneels down and taps his nose, giggling softly. She stands up and looks at Milo. "He's adorable," she whispers.
Jason giggles when she poked his nose, covering his highly freckled nose and cheeks with his hands. He smiles at her. Milo nods, ruffling his hair. "He's a good little brother."
"I can tell," she says. "My sister's the same age." She begins to walk into the store.
Milo and Jason share a glance before following after her. He hoists his brother onto his shoulders, speaking rapid Italian, before his brother fired back in the same language.
Saffi looks back at them. "What are you guys saying?" she questions.
Milo chuckles softly, before Jason says, "We often talk in Italian, since it's our native tongue, but Milo was just asking how school was and if I had any homework."
"Well then, aren't you a smart little guy," she says to Jason. "I would never be able to learn two languages, I can hardly speak English," she laughs.
"We had to learn. English was hard!" He cries. Milo pokes him in the side and he giggles, "Yeah, for me it was hard. You were a baby when we moved here, fratello."
Saffi sighs and looks at them for a second. "You guys are something else," she says smiling.
Milo smiles, "I take that as a compliment, bella." Jason giggles.
"Wait…what does that mean?" she questions tilting her head sideways.
Jason giggles, "It means beautiful!" H shouts before his brother can stop him. Milo turns a light shade of pink before clearing his throat.
Saffi blushes. "Guess you're brother isn't the only charmer in the family," she says. She winks at him and turns towards the store.
Milo chuckles, "Guess not." He follows after her.
(Silo…)
Saffi walks around the store grabbing essentials. She stops in front of the jewelry and looks at a necklace. She sighs and keeps walking.
Milo notices the necklace and looks up to Jason. He nods excitedly. "I'll get that please." He asks the woman at the counter. She nods, "here you are." he nods in thanks and quickly buys it and jogs to catch up with Saffi, his little brother hiding the piece of jewelry.
Saffi picks up a few things and looks back at Milo. "I think I'm done," she says.
He nods, "Lets go check out then." He smiles at her and Jason giggles.
"Yes, let's." She grabs a basket and puts the things inside it. She walks over to the cash register.
Milo nods, walking after her. As the woman at the desk works, she says, "what a darling little family." Milo grows bright red, stuttering for an answer.
Saffi laughs. "Thank you, ma'am, but we're just friends," she replies. She looks back at Milo and sees him blushing, she giggles and begins to give the lady her items.
Milo shakes his head and nods, Jason giggling under his breath.
Saffi begins to take out her money again. She looks back at him. "At least let me pay part of it?" she asks.
