Ashpaw sat down and started pulling clumps of fur out of his tail. No, no, no, no, no! I need to get back! You can't walk, stupid!

"Ashpaw?" Winter said, padding into the den. "Ashpaw?!" She exclaimed, pushing his paws away from his tail, "Don't do that!"

"I have to get back to camp! What if some cat's injured?! I can't do anything to help!" He lay down on the ground and hid his face in his paws.
"It will be ok," Winter soothed, "Think about the feral cats that have no home, no healer, but yet they survive."
"But my mentor's not even there! She left me as the medicine cat for the entire clan and now I can't do anything! I'm such a disappointment… I've failed her and the clan…"
"No, you were found and brought here, you had no chose to come or go so you have not failed your clan."
"I wanna go home…" Ashpaw knew it sounded childish, but he didn't care much. He kept his head hidden beneath his paws, and his tail between his legs. He was very small for his age, he always had been, and he looked like a kit beside the large she cat.
"I can't do that, I'm not the leader."
"The leader? I thought you guys were just some band of rogues or something… rogues don't really have leaders, do they?"
"Blizzard is our leader, he made this camp, brought us together, gave us rules." Winter said, curling her fluffy tail around her.
"Why would he choose to camp so close to twolegs, though? Isn't it dangerous?"
"He likes it here, near the twoleg place he can easily bring in more cat."
(Gtg, don't know if ill get on today)
(Eeeeee)
Ashpaw fell silent, unsure what else to say. He rested his head on his paws, staring at the wall.
"I know how worried you are Ashpaw, I left my twolegs to live with Blizzard and I always thought what it would be like if I stayed with them."
"Will I ever get to go back home?"
"That's not for me to say." She said simply, curling her tail over her paws.
"I need to get back as soon as possible… do you think this Blizzard will let me leave once I'm healed?"
"No, no he will not, but yet again, it's not for me to say, you have to ask him."
"Well, may I then? I can't stay here."
(My replies might be slow, right now I'm editing my book)
"Uh, no. Not right now, one of the members tried to rebel against him and now he's being executed."
(Cool cool)
Ashpaw's heart started racing again. "E-Executed? He… h-he won't kill me, will he?"
"No, your not one of our members yet, so don't worry." She looked out the den suddenly as a cry of pain and distress echoed through the camp, but it was then cut off quickly and silence followed.
No… no! The sound made Ashpaw's heart skip a beat, and his eyes widened in fear. He curled himself up in a corner, shaking.
"Don't worry little one." Winter soother, laying down beside him, "No one likes it but its the only way to keep everyone in shape, remember, most of us are rogues and rogues don't follow rules so they must be taught."
"W-Why don't you just make rules, then? There'd be so much less bloodshed…" Ashpaw shivered. He had never liked battles or death. He was a medicine cat, he healed cats. He never killed, and never would if it wasn't absolutely necessary.
"That's what I'm saying! We have rules but the rogues don't listen, that's why they must be punished! If they see what will happen if someone breaks the rules thay will listen."
(Sorry, brb)
"Isn't there a better way to punish them, though? Solitary vigil, confined to camp, stuff like that?"
"Have you even listen to a word I said? Most of us are rogues! They don't listen, they have to see a punishment happen to listen, and it keeps them in shape, makes them follow to Blizzard."
Ashpaw fell silent. He still felt that there must be a better way, but Winter didn't seem like she would be able to be argued with. He sighed and lay his head back on his paws.
