Mia leaned up to look over the pictures, letting out a breath.
"You both look so happy," she said softly, looking up at Simon. "He must have been an amazing person, to do that for you."
Mia leaned up to look over the pictures, letting out a breath.
"You both look so happy," she said softly, looking up at Simon. "He must have been an amazing person, to do that for you."
He nodded. “Mhm. He was.” He said, a few more tears slipping down his face. “He took good care of me.”
"I'm so glad you did have someone like that…" Mia looked up at Simon, finally moving to do something. She pulled herself up, using one hand to wipe away some of Simon's tears.
“Me too. He was the one good thing the universe ever gave me.” He said, smiling gratefully at her. “Besides you of course. Thanks for listening.”
Mia gave a small smile in turn, staying on Simon as she finished wiping his tears away.
"You're welcome, Simon…" He deserved better than her, though.
He rested his head back against the wall, trying to calm down. He’d probably spend the rest of the day looking through photos and videos on Evan’s phone. This was the only day of the year where he allowed himself to grieve, so he’d make the most of it. Plus, it’d distract him from the growing feeling of hunger in his stomach.
Mia curled up with Simon, occasionally glancing at the phone. The time was passing slowly, and it hurt a bit to see him so sad. Would he remember to eat? Would he remember to take care of himself?
He’d remember, he just didn’t want to. He knew that eating today would be a struggle. So what was the point in even trying to force it down his throat. And he knew in time, the idea of bathing would only get less and less appealing.
Mia closed her eyes eventually. She almost felt obligated to make sure Simon took care of himself, but she wasn't sure he would take her trying to get him to eat well at all. Really, he couldn't lose another person in his life…
Like the night before, Simon never went to sleep, he never even made the attempt. But the night was when he was left alone with nothing but his own thoughts. It was scary, but he’d manage.
Mia did her best to stay up, she really did, but she ended up falling asleep, resting against Simon's chest. In the morning, she really did need to push for Simon to eat something…
Simon was grateful for her presence, it made the darkness a little less daunting. But he knew she would probably push him to take care of himself. He just…didn’t want to. What was the point?
Mia opened her eyes in what she assumed to be the morning, curled up with Simon.
"Mmm… Simon..?" The doll stretched some, keeping close.
“Morning.” He mumbled, looking down at her, blinking tiredly. He tried not to let it show how exhausted he was.
Mia yawned some, resting her head on Simon again.
"Did… you sleep..?"
He hesitated before shaking his head. He didn’t want to lie to her but he also didn’t want her to get mad at him.
Mia let out a small breath.
"S-Simon…" She fell slient, curled up with her head on Simon again. She wasn't mad, but she was worried.
“I-I’m sorry…” he said softly. “Its not like I’ll be able to sleep well anyway…”
"I-I…" Mia closed her eyes, hiding her face in Simon's shirt.
"I-I'm ju-ust so worried a-about you…"
“Please don’t worry about me…I’ll be fine. I’ll try and sleep some if you’re that worried, okay?” He reassured quickly, feeling a pang of guilt.
Mia nodded her head just a bit.
"Please…" She managed to pull her head away, looking up at Simon.
Simon really didn’t want to, knowing that if he slept for too long he’d have a night terror. And he didn’t want to give Astral any reason to come bother him.
Mia watched Simon a moment, reaching up to rest her small hand on his cheek.
"I'll… I'll stay right with you…"
Simon nodded. “Thank you..” he said softly. He got more comfortable in his spot and then shut his eyes. But not before setting a timer on his phone for one hour. He’d just sleep in little spurts like this.
Mia nodded some. She settled down on Simon's chest again, looking over as he set the timer before closer her own eyes. It made sense, and she was okay with that. She just wanted Simon to get some form of rest.
Simon closed his eyes, trying to fall asleep. It’d take him a bit, maybe ten minutes or so, but he drifted off after that. He didn’t sleep completely peacefully, but there were no night terrors.
Mia listened to Simon carefully as he fell asleep, curling up a bit more. She'd keep a close eye on him, since she'd already slept, and make sure to wake him if he got any nightmares.
Simon stirred here and there but when his alarm went off, he’d woken up with no major nightmares.
Mia looked up when Simon awoke and turned the alarm off.
"Did that help some?" She asked, voice soft.
He nodded, tiredly rubbing his eyes. Hopefully that’d be enough to get him through the next few hours.
