I have a character that is an anxious gay mess and I was ranting about him when he was over once and I accidentally mentioned that he was gay and he just gave me a death glare and said "he's gay???" and I was like "Yeah, nothing's wrong with that." and he launched into a stupidass speech about how that isn't right with God and whatever and I was so close to smacking him. Afterwards I just said, "Well God teaches you to 'love thy neighbor' right? Regardless of who they are?" and he was silent for an hour, which is the longest I've ever seen him go without talking.
