Thea gave a tight laugh that sounded forced as she bowed low toward Felix, and spoke in a drawn-out sing-songy voice. “Oooh, forgive me, your excellency I did not know you were supposed to be respected. For now on I shall try to act better in your honorable presence.” She tossed her wet hair behind her and started to follow Austin toward the exit. Arwood smiled at Felix and quickly apologized for Thea’s actions. “She treats everyone this way-”
“Come along Arwood!” Thea called behind her shoulder, “I expect you’ll have to carry Sir Hubristic’s sword if he happens to have one. You must remember to treat him with grave respect.”
“It is just who she is.” He continued before he started after them, shaking his head and ran a hand languidly through his hair.

"I've lived for 106 years. For over 80 of them I have been the boss of an organized crime gang that is known for their ferocity in turf wars. I am the god of luck and fortune, one of the most feared men in not just the criminal world, but on both sides of the veil. The very least I expect from a petty commoner I dislike is that they will use my last name, as opposed to insults." Felix glowered at Thea's back as his trigger finger twitched.

Austin turned to face Thea, walking backwards as he talked. "I'd be careful about making him made down here. Jarrod isn't here to stop him from blowing your head off. Just… lay off the insults. If you know Arwood from before this mansion business, then chances are you don't know how to dodge gunfire."

Austin winced, then turned back around and continued walking.

Taking time to set Abie gently upon the ground, Thea stood up straight fists shaking in unsuppressed rage as she looked at Felix. “So you’re a god? Wow, I feel so…lucky to have your presence bestowed upon me-”
“Thea.” Arwood rested his hand upon her arm, but she shook him off.
“You and Berthold would be perfect for each other,” she growled, “you could shout your titles at one another until someone takes pity on you and gets you out of your sorry little-”
“Thea.” She spun around to face Arwood tears of anger building up in her brown eyes. “That is no way to speak to anyone. He is not Berthold, and even if he were, I would expect you to treat him diplomatically and with grace.” ” His voice had remained calm and low but his face was drawn as if her yelling was causing him pain. Thea flinched and shied away.
“I don’t care.” She picked Abie back up holding her close to her chest and glaring at Felix. “Your kind, the kings, the leaders, and the gods are all the same. You care nothing about the “petty commoners” around you… so don’t expect the petty commoners to treat you with any respect…sir.” She shoved past Arwood and started walking quickly past Austin and striding down the tunnel mumbling softly to Abie.
Arwood’s face was grim and empty as he stared at Felix, watching his twitching hand. “She has had a hard life. She has constantly been used by people with power.” Drawing in a deep breath he continued his walk down the corridor. “As I have said before, she treats everyone like that, do not take it personally." He paused for a moment before continuing, “I would prefer it if you did not threaten her or hurt her in any way. I do not want to hurt anyone.”

@murphysgirl

Abie's fur turned dark brown for sad, and her fluffy fur started to grow warmer as she absorbed some of the negative emotion coursing through Thea's body. The little empath whined softly and snuggled against Thea.
shep is sorry, she said. fluffy shep will bites felix if you want.

(Abie's so sweet!)
Thea laughed another tight laugh, “you better not, he might hurt you, and I don’t want that.” She saw a light coming from the end of the tunnel and frowned. “How did you come here? Do you have someone waiting for you back home?”

Felix's blood turned stone cold. His hand hovered over his breast pocket, where his gun sat. He turned away from Arwood and composed himself, clearing his throat.

"Disrespecting someone you just met has nothing to do with a hard life. I was born poor and had do some.. bad stuff to get by. That's why I'm boss. The gang doesn't let you just walk away. I'm no commoner because I worked to become somebody. Being a god means jack shit because it didn't make me who I am. All it's ever done is take away-"

Felix cleared his throat and turned back to Arwood. "Damn. I'm surprised I've gotten this tilted. I don't usually get this emotional, but getting lectured for being god tends to do that. I won't hurt her. Well. I won't kill her. But I won't hurt her unless she hits first."

Austin followed behind Thea until they got to the arena, glancing behind at the two who were just standing around a ways behind.

"You don't strike me as the observant type." Austin called after her. "So I'll help you out a bit. He hates it."

Arwood smiled and rested his hand upon his shoulder. “It is good to get your emotions out now and then, otherwise it…I get emotional at times. It is human nature." He wondered dully what Felix meant having to do bad stuff to get by only to decide it didn't matter and told Felix so. "We all have pasts we are not proud of, we all have pain we want to get rid of, everyone makes mistakes. I keep trying to make Thea understand that every person is taught to fear, to hate, but that does not make us wrong. The world is full of bad blood and good blood, thankfully, the world has more good blood then bad." He glanced forward to watch Thea and Austin widen the distance between them, his face returning to it's empty and guarded self. “Your world is getting farther from my own the more I hear about it. You can rise above the station you were born into, Thirignam cares about your lineage so much so you cannot-you can barely make it about being a lowly vagabond. But like you said, that does not mean we can hurt and push others around because of it. I will try and work with Thea on that. Thank you." He continued nodding his head toward Felix and allowing a tired half-smile stretch across his face, "Thank you for not chasing her down and doing anything to harm her, and you need not worry, her mouth is the only thing that…hits.”

Thea turned to look at Austin, pasting the little smirk back upon her face. "I know how to observe," she spoke, her voice softer than it was earlier. "I am a Daytheon, my race is known for paying attention and acting upon the information. But thank you for the hint." She tossed her head to get a string of hair away from her face. “You’re Austin, correct? Well, I'm Thea, daughter of Wilan. Are you also an immortal?"

@Williamnot group

"Yeah.. no problem." Felix muttered. He walked a short ways away and kicked at the ground. "I'm going to leave. See you guys later."

Felix rolled up his sleeve and tapped a rune the was tattooed to the inside of his arm. It shined, and Felix turned into light before disappearing.

Austin sighed. "Yes, I'm Austin. No I'm not immortal. Immortality is impossible, gods only stop aging. Anything else? Since we're doing an interview."
Austin gave Thea a cool stare, his yellow eyes glinting.

@murphysgirl

where did felix go? Abie hopped out of Thea's arms and sniffed the ground where Felix had just been standing. Her fur turned light yellow: curious.

@Williamnot group

Mint and Calix were talking about some ancient society in their world.

Jarrod drew his pistol, sneaking down the hall. He ever so slowly peaked around the corner and watched the two. From what it sounded like, they were talking about some ancient civilization. Jarrod stuck the rest of his head out from around the corner, keeping the gun ready, but out of sight.

"Friend or foe?" He barked at the two.

Of course, that was when Felix chose to teleport to him. The paper grew hot in Jarrod's pocket. He balled it up and tossed it down the hallway. It burst into flame the second it touched the ground and Felix appeared over it.

"Hey Jarrod." Felix mumbled.

Jarrod looked concerned, but signaled for him to be quiet. He stuck his head back around the corner.

"Don't make me repeat myself." He shouted at the two.

Austin gave Thea a cool stare, his yellow eyes glinting.

“It’s not an interview,” She said, shying away from Austin and looking ahead, ignoring his cool stare. “You humans get offended so easily, it's enough to drive one crazy.” She snuggled into the side of Abies' face and kissed her head affectionately. “You’re wrong you know.” She raised her brown eyes to Austin's face, “I’m immortal and I’m not a god, sooo, gods aren’t that special. Even Arwoods immortal, though, he wants it to end… ” she glared at Austin warningly, “Don’t tell him I told you that or he-” There was a bright light behind her, and Abie jumped from her arms, she turned around to see Arwood standing by himself, Felix was nowhere to be seen.
~~
Arwood turned his head as the blinding light lit up the dark tunnel. When he regained his sight, he found Felix nowhere, he had simply disappeared. Clutching the pommel of his sword to keep it from slamming against his thigh he caught up with Austin and Thea.
“Felix disappeared.” He pointed, nodded his head behind him, “there was a bright light and then he was just…gone.”
Thea snorted. “Good, we didn’t want him anyway. Nevertheless, he could have sent us home before he vanished.”
Arwood ignored walking beside Austin but keeping a good distance between them, “does he do that often? Where did he go?” He glanced down at Abie sniffing the area, he knelt down beside her.
“I have a feeling your nose can’t find where he went correct or am I wrong and you have hidden powers too?”

@murphysgirl

shep smell magic, Abie said, sniffing. but shep does not know where it went.
Suddenly, she sneezed; she flew a foot into the air, fur floofing out and turning bright purple, and then landed on the floor, her fur going back to normal. She beat her fluffy tail against the ground once and looked mournfully up at Arwood.
fluffy shep think this is too dusty, she said.

"Bullshit. Immortality is a myth for children and idiots who would try to take on old gods." The flash of light from behind him told him Felix was gone. "Great, you upset him that much? The first time you met him? You really are a bitch. Felix hates being a god as much as Arwood hates being 'immortal', and you made him feel like a piece of shit for it, despite the fact that he DIDN'T CHOOSE TO BE A GOD YOU-."

Austin was interrupted when his own fit slammed into his face. He stumbled a bit, then shook his head.

"Sorry, that was rude." He muttered at Thea. He turned to Arwood, who was running up to them. "Felix gave Jarrod an anchor point, so I'm sure that's where he's at. Basically, using the rune tattooed to his arm, he can teleport to anchor points whenever, or wherever he wants if he wants to burn a lot more energy. Let's get out of here before I end up clawing out someone's guts because I'm too tired."

Austin winced, and started doing his best to put some distance between him and the others.

Stay close to Em. He is a lot more powerful here for some reason. He shot the text to Mel, and pocketed the phone as he stepped out into the arena.

@Williamnot group

“Friend!” Mint put their hands up. Calix nodded, doing the same.

Jarrod sighed in relief, then pocketed the gun where the two couldn't see it. "Fantastic. In that case, what are your names?"

Arwood nodded slowly, looking from Thea to Austin, catching the unease between them. “Did something happen, something I should be aware of?” He asked. Thea opened her mouth as if to reply, then shooting a sideways glance at Austin, shook her head.
“No. Come along Abby, we don’t want your guts ripped out.” She began to jog down the corridor hoping Jedrek would be waiting to help calm her down. She was jogging for a long while before she saw the end of the tunnel. She glanced through to see strangers standing at the mouth of the hallway, no-one was familiar.
~~
Reaching into the small leather pouch at his side, Arwood brought forth a small stick of lavender. It was the last one. He held out his hand toward Austin, the small stick lying in his palm. “It calms me down in moments of…stress. It might help you.” He forced his voice to be calm and not to reveal the fear he was feeling giving away his last calming mechanism. “I am not saying it is assured to help, but you could at least try.” He gave a thin smile, “as you said, you do not wish to rip any guts out, and I like my guts where they are.”

"Thanks. Sorry to freak you out, it probably won't happen. It's just hard to… um.. control my more animal like tendencies, the less energy I have." Austin tapped the corner of his eye, gesturing at his yellow irises. He winced and clutched his head before taking a deep breath of the lavender.

"Yeah. That helps. Thanks." He sighed.

Austin heard Mel shout from the mouth of the hallway and shoved the lavender into his pocket, running towards her.

~~
Somebody new was in the tunnel and Mel and Em couldn't see Austin.

"Who are you?" Mel asked at the same time as Em asked "Where's Austin?"

Em suddenly started to hyperventilate, wrapping her arms around herself. Her hands began to slowly coat in fur, jumping back and forth as Em tried to stay human. Mel remembered the text Austin had just sent.

"Shit!" Mel shouted before gently picking up Em. "Hey, you're going to be fine alright? If you have to transform that's okay, lets just relax, it's just a new person. Austin's probably right behind her, it's okay."

@Williamnot group

“I’m Mint and this is my brother Calix,” the younger one told him. Calix nodded.

"Alright, Mint, Calix. I'm Jarrod, this is Felix." Jarrod gestured at Felix, who waved meekly.

"What's up with you?" Jarrod asked.

"Nothing, I'll tell you later."

Jarrod shook his head. "Anyways, I'm guessing you two just appeared here with no idea what happened?"

Thea nodded her head behind her. “Yeah, he’s right behind me, I just came ahead.” She walked out of the hall, sticking close to the wall and watching the group around her closely. They all seemed to know each other, and yet she only had one friend with her. She took a deep breath and addressed the group around her“I’m Thea, daughter of Wilan. Who are you?”

“Your kind, shapeshifters, always interested me. Up to this point, I have never met one. And you’re welcome, glad I could be of some-” He spun as a shout came from the mouth of the hallway and took off after Austin, praying Thea hadn’t been hurt in any way. He came to a stop at the entrance to breathe a sigh of relief. She was standing off to one side and fortunately was in one piece.

Austin pushed past Thea and over to Em. He took her from Mel and started heading for the door.

"I'm going to take her where she can transform safely so we can recharge. He's a lot more powerful here, so between that and the stress I'm surprised she's managed this long."

Austin shouldered the door open and started jogging down the hall. Mel started chasing them, but Austin saw her.

"No! Stay away! Didn't you hear me? Wolf is stronger here, we're a lot more dangerous!"

"I thought we agreed-" Mel started.

"That was when Wolf couldn't do more than annoy me! He's giving me full on headaches, who knows what we could end up doing. Please." Austin gave her a look full of pain. "Just.. stay outside the door at least."

Austin walked into a bedroom and closed the door behind him, the lock sliding into place. Mel stood in front of the door for minute before shouting in exasperation and deciding to find Jarrod and Felix.

~~

Calix nodded. “One second, we were with our moms. The next, we’re here.”

"That's what's happened to everyone here apparently. One minute, we're going about our day, the next we're here. Not exactly convenient."

Thea paled and walked toward Arwood. “This place is full of strange people. But Austin had a point.” She whispered, “it’s harder to control things we previously had control over.” Arwood nodded,
“I know. Just, don’t do anything foolish, try and keep it together.”
They turned at the unexpected cry coming from the girl Mel. Arwood took a short step forward, “I know these circumstances are…stressful, but we need to hold it together. It’s the only way we will be able to function properly and find a way out. Do you know where Jarrod went? He was here when we left.”
Thea walked over, looking about the house nervously. “Also, is the wolf inside Austin and girl triggered by anything. I want to know, cause if so, we need to know so we don’t accidentally trigger the…thing.”

"No, Wolf isn't triggered by anything. It just sits in their heads nagging at them to become fully wolf, mind and everything. Not exactly pleasant, but both can deal with it. As long as they're rested up and not stressed they're fine." Mel rubbed her temples and sighed. "Austin said that Wolf is a lot more powerful here, so their wolf side could be a lot more unpredictable. It doesn't help that neither of them ever sleep well and that we're all under a lot of stress."
Mel started down the hallway. "Jarrod came down here. There's some new people, and since he's the one with a gun he's the one checking them out. Also… did you guys leave Felix back there or something?"

@Williamnot group

Mint nodded. “Do you have any idea where ‘here’ is exactly?”

"Nope. Some sort of mansion with no escape. That's all we can really tell. It seems to just keep going," Jarrod replied.
Felix spotted Thea down the hall and groaned. Then he noticed that despite Arwood and Mel also being there, neither of the Dunn siblings were. "Uh, Jarrod? Austin and Em aren't with the others."
