(THE SHOE MAKERS ARE NOT SPIES IF YOU KILL THEM I WILL MURDER! Poor Charlie. And neither is her dance partner. I DO have planned side spy characters, but those will happen later) Yet again Rain spent the night on the couch, turning on the radio to the classical music station as she slept. The next morning she made pancakes with eggs and bacon for the two, and cleaned up. She planned out her sisters work for the day, and then decided to play the violin. So she turned off the radio and began to tune it.

(XDXD It was more of a joke!)

Jacob walked to her apartment the next morning, sighing to himself. Another on the list gone… Well, at least he didn't have to tell Rain. He knocked on the door of her apartment, waiting for her to answer. The cold wind didn't faze him, he was used to it. He looked about the area she lived in. Damn, it really wasn't safe… He should spend more time around the area, perhaps… Make it safer.

There was a sour note from the violin inside as she was startled by the knocking. She set down the violin on the couch, grabbed the metal bat from under the couch,and went to the door, leaning on the bat as support. She carefully opened the door, and smiled when she saw Jacob. "Back so early. Eager to see me?" She tucked back her black hair and hobbled back over to the couch where she resumed her melancholy playing.

Jacob flushed lightly at her teasing. "I was just coming to check on you two." He glances at the bat. "You keep that with you?" He asks, tilting his head as he walked in, taking off his boots and placing them by the door exactly how he had the day before. He listened to her playing as he awaited an answer to his question, humming along to the song she was playing.

She nodded. "In case we have a break in. I always keep it under the couch. I also sleep on the couch. I'd hate for Alisson to get into harms way." Rain wore a silky black dress with white flowers along the skirt, and a black little vest,along with black leggings and white socks as her fingers waltzed along the strings. "Please sit down."

@Yet_another_Dekulover_is_gayofc

Jacob went over and sat on the other side of the couch, in his normal straight-up position. "So… Do you sleep well at night then?" He asks her. "You don't have to answer that if you dont want to." He knew that personally, he would rather not dicuss his sleeping habits to anyone, especially not Rain. He didn't want her to concern herself with him.

"The best that I can in these hard times." She shrugged as she continued her playing. She hummed gently, just enjoying the music,and the friendly company as well.

Jacob slowly scooted a bit closer to her, closing his eyes and enveloping himself in the sound of the music echoing through the house. Rain truly was amazing. She was a woman of many talents. She could dance, she could play music. And most importantly, she could see right through him, as no one else has. Had he actually fallen for a french artist? Only time could tell. But something, besides the aching dread constantly coursing through him, something was brewing in him. He just couldn't figure out what.

She sighed as her song ended. "If only I could dance and play. Already I miss twirling around this coffee table,and then stubbing my toe. Mother always loved my playing. It brought her peace. Father never was one for the arts,saying dance is a hobby not a real career. But dance has very much saved me and my little sisters life. Which I am grateful for…" She sighed softly as she struck up an old waltz, playing it softly, muttering the steps she would do as she played.

@Yet_another_Dekulover_is_gayofc

Jacob heard the waltz, glancing at Rain's cast. "Why don't we dance? It will obviously be slower and easier, but you can teach me." He suggests without thinking. He knew the woman loved to dance, and he wanted to make her comfortable during her recovery. "I can easily keep you supported." He adds.

"Oh well…alright." She put the violin very carefully back in it's case, and hobbled over to her mother's old record player which sat next to the couch. "Oh gosh…would you get the record player case out from under the table? I would do it but I don't think I should attempt bending down…I do hate asking you for so much. Just set it down on the couch please. Or the table."

@Yet_another_Dekulover_is_gayofc

Jacob smiled a little at her, getting the record player out and setting it on the couch, moving the coffee table some so they wouldn't hit anything and going over to Rain again. "So, what song will we be dancing to?" He asks her, looking at the collection of records she had.

She paged through the records, and pulled out an orchestral piece, blowing the dust off the cover before carefully pulling out the disc, and setting the needle onto it after turning it on. "Alright then. One hand on the hip, other on the shoulder,opposite of the way I do it." She dropped her crutches,letting them thud to the floor as she hobbled over and put one of her hands on his left shoulder, a hand on his right hip. "And sway. I'd teach you to twirl and how to spin a lady but,due to my condition such lessons will have to wait." Her blue eyes refused to meet his, as the slowly spun around the room.

Jacob, a bit embarrassed himself, didn't look directly at Rain either. It was a bit awkward since he didn't know how to dance and Rain was so talented at it. He often found himself almost tripping up occasionally, but always caught himself and the woman before they could fall. After a bit, though, he lost his balance again, but he twisted around so he landed smack on his back, and Rain landed right on his chest, and the wind was knocked out of him.

"Can't even manage a dime three step." She said with a laugh. She scooted herself up a bit so her face was right above his, and now she stared deep into his eyes. "I'll have to teach you better." She smiled down at him, cheeks more of a shade of light pink and she had little dimples you noticed,when she fully smiled.

@Yet_another_Dekulover_is_gayofc

Jacob regained his breath after a moment, turning red as his coat as he stared into Rain's eyes. "I suppose so…" He said with a nervous chuckle. "It's nice to see a real smile, though." He then adds, smiling back at her. Even he was shocked by the action, he never smiled anymore.

"Such a hard thing to do nowadays." She said. "Now the dilemma is, how do we get up?" She giggled loudly.

@Yet_another_Dekulover_is_gayofc

"Oh, that is simple task." Jacob replies, moving Rain off of his chest and sitting up, then moving her to the side and standing, grabbing her hand and bringing her up with him. "See, simple." He chuckles some.

She smiled and leaned into his chest. Her little sister came out of the bedroom,and peeked around the corner, looking at the two for a moment before rushing back to her studies. The sound of her little sister snapped Rain back to reality and she struggled to grab her crutches but managed to do so and hobbled over to the bedroom. "Alice, are you being curious?" She called as she walked in. "Nooo…" "Are you lying?" Her sister pouted. "I just wanted to know what that loud bang was! I thought you got hurt!" "I'm okay Alli. Now then are you doing well?" Her little sister nodded and Rain softly pet her head as she looked over her shoulder. "Good good." She smiled and hobbled out of the room, and headed over to the record player chest where she began to look through the collection of them.

@Yet_another_Dekulover_is_gayofc

Jacob walked over next to Rain, watching what she was doing. "Mm, curiosity is not bad after all." He states quietly, chuckling. "It just proves her eagerness to learn. And mine as well. So, I suppose me and Alice are the same."

"Depends on how you look at it." She shrugged as she put away the record, turned off the player,and after latching closed the chest,and landed it on the floor. She used her good foot to push it back under the side table,and sat down, panting a bit. "Moving around like this sure does wear a girl out."

Deleted user

"You don't have to walk on crutches all the time,which hurts like you wouldn't believe, and every bump makes your foot twinge in pain. You're a big tall Officer. You can handle a bit of wind knocked out of you."

Deleted user

"Only if you crack your skull. You're a lucky duck then Jacob." She giggled and tapped his nose, and sighed,when there was a knock at the door. "Guess I don't get a break. Excuse me." She tried to hobble to the door. (when I say I try it's a chance for your character to stop her and offer your help or let her move on to the door. Your choice)

It was just Charlie, with his dimpled smile. "Oh hi there ra-why hello Officer! I'm here to pick up Rain! We go grocery shopping every Sunday!" He says cheerfully,unphased by his presence.

"That's the shoemakers son. Of course he's safe! Come in Charlie." The young 14 year old boy squeezed past as Rain went over to the coat closet and grabbed a few cloth bags and her coat. "Cloudy what happened to your foot?" "I broke my ankle while dancing. It happens." She pulled on one of the heavy duty boots and Charlie tied it,along with helping her and zippering up her coat,and even grabbed her food stamp card. "Officer Jacob will you accompany us? ALICE! GET YOUR SHOES AND COAT! We're going to the store!" Her little sister sprung up and Charlie helped her too. She wore a pair of pink sparkly boots, and smiled. "I want my lollipop!" "Yes yes Ally cat I know."
