"Alright, love. See you soon." Lucas huddled up on the couch and sighed softly, closing his eyes to try and relax.

Melissa kissed his forehead before heading upstairs to her room. It was a little bit before she came back to the living room. “Hey, you alright?” She asked softly, coming up behind him and starting to play with his hair.
"Yeah, m'alright… just gonna rest for a bit before I head out." Lucas smiled weakly up at Melissa and yawned. "Just need a few minutes to think and breathe."
Melissa nodded a little, kissing the top of his head. “That’s fine, I just wanted to check on you.” Ehe hummed softly, still quietly playing with his hair.
Lucas nodded as well and closed his eyes, relaxing into Melissa's gentle touch. "I'll see you soon, yeah?"
Melissa smiled softly, nodding a little as she started to step back. “Yeah, I’ll be back tonight.” She hummed, kissing him one last time before grabbing her coat. “I’ll try not to wake you up when I get back.”
"Alright, love. Bye." Lucas waved a bit and huddled back up on the couch for a while. After half an hour or so, he got up and clipped Cody's leash to his collar so he could go out on a walk.
Mr. Brennahan had come downstairs in between Melissa leaving and Lucas getting up. “Where you headed?” He asked softly, sipping from his coffee mug.
"Just going out for a walk to clear my head… I've got my phone on me, so I can call you and or the police if I need to." He sighed softly and opened the front door.
“Oh, alright. Just checking.” Mr. Brennahan hummed, setting the mug down as he leaned against the door frame. “Be safe, okay?”
Lucas nodded a bit. "I will. I'll try and be back soon, so… um… if I'm gone for more than an hour, something might be wrong." He headed outside and closed the door behind him, keeping Cody close to his side as he walked.
After a while of being gone, Mr. Brennahan's cell phone started ringing, and Lucas's name displayed on the screen.
By the second ring he had the phone up to his ear, already feeling worried. “Hey, everything alright?” He asked softly, getting up from his desk and heading downstairs.
Lucas coughed weakly, feeling woozy and disoriented. "U-Um… I think she drugged me…" He replied. "Nngh… I-I feel like m'gonna throw up… my head is all… all…" He went quiet for a few seconds, so dazed that he couldn't really think. "Sorry, um…"
Heart stopping in his chest momentarily, Mr. Brennahan quickly pulled on a pair of shoes before rather quickly running out the door. "Do you know where you are? Does anything look familiar? I know it's gonna be hard, but I need you to try and tell me." He said, his voice full of urgency as he remembered Melissa had taken his car. So he started to briskly walk in the direction he assumed Lucas had gone.
"Um…" Lucas looked around, trying to keep a tight grip on his phone. "It's… dark. And there's trees. I think I might be somewhere in the forest in the park…" He groaned softly as he sat up, holding one hand to his head and looking down at himself. "Nngh… my clothes are torn… hopefully she didn't do anything to me…"
"Is Cody around?" Mr. Brennahan asked softly, trying to focus on getting to the park. That's where they always ended up, it would only make sense he was there. As he ran, he tried to keep Lucas on the phone. He was trying to keep the questions simple, to not push him too hard. "And are you hurt?"
"Um… y-yeah, Cody's here. I think he's okay. He's laying next to me." Lucas coughed weakly and curled up on the ground, trembling a bit. "And… I don't think I'm hurt. Bit sore and really shaky, but… might just be from whatever she gave me."
"Alright, well if you can, keep talking to me. I'll be there really soon." He stated softly, picking up his pace. He was going at a full sprint now as he made it to the park, running towards the forest.
"Okay… am I gonna die…?" He asked weakly, breathing a bit more heavily now. His vision kept shifting in and out of focus, and he was shaking violently where he lay. Cody whined loudly enough at him to be heard through the phone, keeping close to him to protect him.
"What? No- no of course not." Mr. Brennahan insisted, stumbling as he continued to run through the woods. As it was getting dark, it was getting harder to see. "You're gonna be just fine. I promise, I just need you to keep conscious."

"Oh… okay…" Lucas groaned softly and curled up tighter on the ground. His shirt was torn and his clothes were generally disheveled, and he had marks on his neck and shoulders. "Nngh… I-I can't… remember anything…" He mumbled. "I-I dunno what she did to me…"
Mr. Brennahan had stopped responding by this point, trying to focus on finding him. He could be anywhere in the woods honestly. "Is there anyway I can call Cody? Do you have a specific call or something?" He asked softly, stopping in the middle of the woods.
"Mmm… yeah, usually he'll just come at his name, but he prolly won't wanna leave me…" Lucas stirred again and closed his eyes, struggling to stay conscious. "I-I can… make him start barking, though… then you might be able to hear him." Lucas gave Cody the command and the dog started barking loudly.
At the sound, he turned towards the sound of the dog, starting to run again. When he saw the two of them there, he let out a heavy sigh of relief. Hanging up the phone, he knelt down beside Lucas. "Hey… I- um…" Mr. Brenahan was visibly shaking as he stayed beside Lucas, doing a quick check over him.
Lucas looked up at Mr. Brennahan blearily, clearly very out of it. He couldn't hear the man very well at this point, and it felt like the ground was spinning beneath him. "You maaaade it…" He mumbled, sounding incredibly delirious. "Am I alive…?"
"Yeah- yeah you're alive." He whispered, standing up. "I need you to sit up, bud. I- I'll help you up, but I need you to try and sit up first." Mr. Brenahan was still whispered, trying to relax his nerves all the while trying to figure out how to help Lucas.
Lucas nodded and pushed himself up on his hands and knees, swaying dangerously where he was. "Mmmmm… I-I don't feel good, Mr. Brennahan…" He mumbled, closing his eyes again. "World's… um… 's spinning… did you bring your twin with you…?" He asked as he looked up at Mr. Brennahan, unable to get his eyes to focus.
"Twin..?" He asked softly, caught off guard for a couple of seconds. Realizing what he had said before, he wrapped an arm around his waist to try and get him up. "Right, um, no. We need to get you home, we can figure out what to do there." He whispered, keeping the younger male close to himself as they walked. "C'mon Cody."
Lucas stumbled alongside Mr. Brennahan, supported by Cody on his other side. He was pretty much just allowing himself to be dragged, not having the energy to do much else. He was mumbling something incoherent to himself, his words slurred and incomprehensible.
