"Mm, yeah. I'll have to do that as well… I work a lot of mornings at the moment." Lucas sighed softly.
"Mm, yeah. I'll have to do that as well… I work a lot of mornings at the moment." Lucas sighed softly.
"Yeah… you might want to do that today. School starts up tomorrow." Melissa hummed, kissing his knuckles softly. "So, probably should make sure."
"Yeah, I can ask about it when I go in today." He yawned and finished off his coffee.
"Mhmm…" She nodded, starting to get up from the table. "I'm gonna go start getting ready… let me know when you need to go."
"Alright, Mel. Thanks." Lucas got up to clean his dishes and then went to change into his work clothes.
Melissa came downstairs about fifteen minutes later, dressed to drive him to work. She was quietly humming to herself as she stepped into the kitchen.
Lucas was sitting on the couch, seeming a bit more awake now that the coffee had kicked in. "It'll be a bit until we need to go, so is there anything you want to do in the meantime?"
“I’m making myself a cup of coffee, but other than that, I’ve got nothing.” Melissa hummed softly, bringing her mug into the living room. “Did you want to do something?”
"Not really, no. I'm happy to just sit here until it's time to go." He shrugged a bit and leaned back on the couch."
Melissa nodded, sitting and leaning back with him. “Mm… do you want to go for a walk later? I think I’ll have time in between your shift and mine.”
"Yeah, sure. Maybe we can go to the clearing." Lucas shrugged a bit and rested his head on Melissa's shoulder.
“It doesn’t matter to me, as long as we get some down time.” Melissa hummed softly, resting her head on his. “And if you want to go to the clearing, then we can do that.”
Lucas nodded a bit. "We can go anywhere, but we generally end up there, so we might as well…"
"Guess that's true…" Melissa shrugged, kissing the top of his head. Sinking into the couch, she yawned some. "I just didn't know if you wanted to go somewhere else."
He shrugged as well and shifted a bit closer to Melissa. "Not really. It's a safe place for me."
Melissa nodded a little, curling up even closer. "Yeah… it's really peaceful." She hummed, nuzzling against his cheek.
"I'm just wary because I don't want her following us there or anything… I don't want her to know where it is."
“I guess that’s true.” Melissa shrugged a bit, setting her mug on the coffee table before curling up closer to him. “We won’t let her get to it. I promise.”
Lucas nodded a bit. "And if she starts trying to follow us anywhere, we call the police, okay?"
“Yup…” Melissa hummed, pulling him a little closer. She looked up at him with a soft look. “Love you…”
"Love you too, Mel…" Lucas gently kissed Melissa and buried his face in her shoulder. "Maybe she'll get arrested and she'll leave us alone, yeah?"
"Yeah, and then we don't have to worry about it anymore." She hummed softly, resting her head on his.
"Yeah… I guess she'd get out eventually, though. I'm not sure how long you'd be in jail for that kinda thing."
“I’ve got no clue, honestly. I mean, there'd probably be some kind of restrictions… if she didn’t get arrested.” Melissa mumbled, kissing his shoulder. “We could always ask.”
"Yeah, I guess… a restraining order seems to be the only real permanent way to stop it, but I dunno how to get one of those. I also don't know if I can since I'm not eighteen."
Melissa nodded a little, curling up closer to him. She shrugged a bit, wrapping her arms around him loosely. "I don't either… I don't know much about that kind of stuff."
"Your dad might know. Or he could at least find out for us." Lucas shrugged a bit and sighed softly.
"That's true," Melissa hummed softly, lacing her fingers with his. "I'll ask him when I get home from dropping you off."
Lucas nodded. "Speaking of, we should probably get going soon, yeah?"
"Mm… probably, yeah." Melissa hummed softly, starting to pull away so she could stand. "You ready?"
