"Yeah, I'm alright… just tired." Lucas sighed softly and huddled up against Melissa when she sat down.
"Yeah, I'm alright… just tired." Lucas sighed softly and huddled up against Melissa when she sat down.
"Do you want to try and go to sleep?" Melissa asked softly, laying back on the couch, nuzzling up against him.
"I dunno, maybe… it's pretty early, and I don't wanna wake up at 4 am again…" He closed his eyes.
“Mm… that’s true.” Melissa hummed, rubbing circles into his back. “Well, I can turn the TV on, and we can try to watch something… or you can draw, if you don’t feel like watching anything.”
"Mm… TV is fine…" Lucas shifted a bit closer to Melissa. "I'm not really feeling like drawing right now."
“Mkay…” Melissa hummed, shifting so she could grab the remote. “Any suggestion what to watch? Or do you not care?”
"I don't really care… you can put on whatever you want." Lucas shrugged a bit and sighed.
Melissa nodded slowly, quietly flipping through the channels. Eventually she just picked something, setting the remote aside. “Are you sure you’re okay? You don’t sound like yourself… you know you can talk to me, right?”
"Yeah, I'm fine, just… thinking…" Lucas closed his eyes, trying to relax a bit so he wouldn't worry Melissa so much.
"You sure?" Melissa insisted, tipping his chin up a little. "I want to be here for you, and talk to you if you need me…"
"I know, Mel… we've already kinda talked about it, though. I just need to relax for a little while…" Lucas looked up at Melissa tiredly.
Melissa nodded a bit, nuzzling down into his shoulder. "Right, sorry…" She mumbled, laying her head on his shoulder.
"It's okay…" Lucas murmured, closing his eyes again as he huddled close. "I'm sure I'll be fine…"
“Well, you can talk to me, if you need to.” Melissa whispered, kissing his shoulder softly. “But you obviously don’t have to… just know I’m here.”
"I know I can, Mel… thanks…" Lucas returned the kiss and held tighter to her. "Sorry for being problematic…"
“You’re not problematic. I want to help you…” Melissa whispered, burying her face in his shoulder again. “I love you…”
"I love you too, Mel…" Lucas sighed softly, keeping his eyes closed. "I just feel like I'm causing a lot of trouble…"
Melissa sighed softly, nodding a little she buried her face back in his shoulder. “I wish I could show you that you’re not. But all I can do is tell you.”
"Y-Yeah…" Lucas fell quiet for a while, trying to just listen to the TV so he wouldn't have to think so much.
Melissa didn't speak up, not wanting to bug him. She felt she had already asked him to talk her down once, and didn't want that to happen again. So she kept quiet as well.
After a while, Lucas seemed to relax a bit. Upon closer inspection, he appeared to have fallen asleep.
Melissa glanced down at him, starting to play with his hair. She didn't want to wake him up but knew he probably shouldn't be asleep yet. So she sat there, debating whether or not she should wake him up.
Lucas leaned into Melissa's gentle touch a bit and yawned, curling up tighter on the couch as he slept. "Mm…"
Melissa continued to quietly play with his hair, kissing his forehead softly. "Love you…" She whispered, not expecting him to respond.
Lucas didn't hear her, of course, but seemed to be pretty comfortable with his head in her lap. He was tired from the events of the day, but he would probably still wake up earlier than he wanted to.
Melissa stayed in place, not wanting to disturb him. It didn’t really surprise her when she fell asleep, an hour or so later, resting her head on the back of the couch.
Lucas managed to stay asleep through the night, but as expected, ended up waking up around 4 in the morning. "Nngh…"
Melissa stirred when he started to wake up, but didn’t fully wake up. She was tired still, and wanted to keep sleeping.
Lucas quietly got up off of Melissa and started wandering around the house, trying to find something to do. He cleaned wherever he could find things that needed cleaning, and eventually started cooking breakfast.
When Lucas started to make breakfast, the sound of the dishes in the kitchen seemed to be the thing that woke her up. Blinking in confusion for a couple of seconds, she quietly and groggily made her way into the kitchen. "Lu..?"
