(Ah! I hope you did well!)
Lyn padded closer, her eyes trained on the others in a sort of detached fascination. She purred with amusement at Colin and Tasha’s back and forth before leaping onto a seat some feet away from them, wanting to get closer to see how they played.
(It was…. ok)
(shoot sorry was busy an wasnt paying all that attention when I wrote that if I missed something)
Valentina noticed the cat and looked at it slightly weird. "one seven," she said putting a card down. "And whos cat?
(Don’t worry about it :)
Nobody’s, Lyn thought. Her ear twitched, and she stuck out her tongue in response to Valentina’s look.
She thought about shifting to human form, but decided not to. She was comfortable, and besides, it’s not like anyone would know her if she did. She hadn’t made any good friends yet, and was still getting used to life on the farm. She flicked her eyes back to the game.
"That's Lyn," Colin said with a smile. "Two eights."
"One nine."
"BS, Tasha."
"Take 'em."
A groan from Colin and some shuffling of cards. He had nearly a third of the deck now.
Jade threw down four cards. "Four tens." They hummed, smiling wickedly. They loved BS, it was a fun game, especially when you weren't even lying just… Extremely lucky.
Valentina looked at the cat for another second but then just shrugged and looked back at her cards. She bit her lip slightly and bounced her leg. Putting down two cards. "Two jacks."
"Four queens," Colin said triumphantly, setting down some cards.
Tasha examined her cards, sighed, and put down a king.
(cough)
(sneeze sorry should I make Lyn human or smth? Idk how else to move the story if no one else is going to-)
(can I please join? I'm aware that asking wasn't required but… ah… it just seems natural to.)
(Ya of course you can!)
(clears throat in sarcastically Umbridge-y manner)
(giggles)
(Ok you know what-)
Suddenly a thought came to Lyn. She shifted to human form, her vision suddenly bursting with color as her eyes changed shape and structure. That was the only thing she didn’t like about shifting; the way it affected her senses. After pushing dark hair out of her face and getting over an initial dizziness, she hesitantly spoke.
“I don’t mean to interrupt, but would anyone like some snacks? I found a secret stash of goodies recently…”
Maybe she could make some friends this way. Then again, maybe they’d hate it if she interrupted their game. She could almost imagined them refusing with disgusted looks on their faces, and all of a sudden she intensely regretted shifting at all. She rocked back and forth on her seat.
Jade threw their cards down and stood up. "Snacks?" They tilted their head like a dog who was just told 'treats' but then not given any. "Snacks. I'm coming with you."
Valentona nearly jumped out of her seat when Lyn shifted. Swearing under her breath but she nodded putting her cards down. "Snacks sound good."
"I'm not hungry," Tasha said, gathering up the cards. "I'll stay here and clean up."
"I'll go!" Colin said eagerly, gladly setting down his enormous pile of cards.
Lyn silently sighed with relief. No one seemed to hate her… some even wanted to go with her! She smiled, then stood. “It’s just in the attic.” She motioned Colin, Jade, and Valentina out of the mess hall area and into the recreational area.
(So there are two cabins - a boys and a girls one - a mess hall, Maute's cabin/office, and a store-room warehouse thingy.)
(Ooh ok)
(Yeah. And the nonbinary peoples can decide which cabin they want to stay in. :) )
(Nice. Where….. would the attic be haha?)
(In either of the cabins, or in the warehouse. Or even in the mess hall, which also doubles as a general games room and recreational area. It's where, like, the kitchen and the TV room are. There are those in the cabins too, but the mess hall has the main ones where everyone hangs out.)
(Awesome)
(Also, a warning, Maute is pretty strict about the gender segregation of the cabins. First floor, with kitchen and living room and everything, is usually fine, but if she finds you in a bedroom, you're dead meat. So you'll have to sneak in if it's one of the cabins.)
(Nah I think it’ll be in the mess hall. I’ll edit my last post)
