Melissa relaxed at the kiss, nodding as well. "M'kay… if you say so. I trust you." She hummed, lacing her fingers with his.
Melissa relaxed at the kiss, nodding as well. "M'kay… if you say so. I trust you." She hummed, lacing her fingers with his.
Lucas smiled gently over at Melissa. "We're almost to the clearing, darling. How are you feeling?"
“Tense… worried. But um, I’ll be okay. I just need a couple minutes to relax I guess. What about you?” Melissa asked softly, fidgeting with her hair.
Lucas shrugged a bit. "Letting myself think a bit more than I should, I suppose. You'd think I'd know better by now, hmm?" He laughed weakly.
Melissa huffed a little, giving him a tired smile. “Mm… well I do it too. There’s not much you can do about it though, I don’t think.” She mumbled, standing up tall enough to peck his cheek.
Lucas sighed and returned the kiss. "We're a mess, aren't we?" He asked softly as they entered the clearing.
“Completely and totally.” Melissa laughed weakly, wrapping her arms around his waist in a tight hug. “I love you so much…” She whispered, quietly playing with his hair.
"I love you too, Mel…" Lucas smiled gently and closed his eyes, content to let Melissa pet him. "Do you wanna sit?"
“Mm… yeah.” Melissa hummed, pulling Lucas over to the base of the tree. “We probably shouldn’t stay for too long. It’s kinda cold out.”
"Right, yeah… we can hang out here for a bit, though." Lucas sat down beside Melissa under the tree and sighed softly.
Melissa gave him a weak smile, kissing his forehead softly. “M’kay…” She hummed a little, resting her head on his shoulder. “I love you.”
"I love you too, Mel…" Lucas returned the kiss and huddled closer to Melissa for warmth. "It's pretty out here, even though it's cold."
Melissa nodded, curling up small in his arms. “It is… it’s really peaceful too.” She mumbled, looking up at him. “I really do love coming here with you.”
"Me too…" Lucas rested his head on Melissa's and looked around at the snow-dusted clearing. "I really love this place."
“Me too…” Melissa whispered as she hummed softly to herself. “The snow makes it really pretty. It’s like… diamonds in a way.”
Lucas nodded a bit and sighed softly. "Yeah… and the water's all frozen over and stuff. It's cool."
“It is…” Melissa mumbled, going quiet for a couple minutes. Eventually she glanced over to him, sighing softly. “You know, I want to do something spontaneous…”
"Hmm?" Lucas looked over at Melissa curiously. "Spontaneous?" He asked. "Like what? Spontaneous how?"
"Oh, I don't know… like going on a trip. Or dying my hair bright pink. Something like that." Melissa shrugged, looking up at him with a slight hum. "Not that I actually want to dye my hair, but you get the point."
Lucas snickered a bit. "I like your hair how it is, darling. I feel like you'd regret bright pink. What kinda spontaneous thing could we do though?"
"I'm sure I would," Melissa laughed weakly, curling back up against him. "But I mean, we could take a road trip. With nowhere particular in mind, we could just drive." She hummed, fiddling with her fingers some.
"W-Well, I don't know how to drive, but… yeah, I guess it could be fun." Lucas smiled gently and shrugged a bit.
"I do." Melissa pointed out, looking back up at him. "It would be nice… we wouldn't have to think about anything. We could just enjoy ourselves, and live life a little…"
Lucas nodded a bit. "Yeah, I suppose so. We wouldn't have to go to school or work… but then we wouldn't have any money for food."
Melissa let out a little sigh, sinking down in her place. "Then we wouldn't go for long. We'd go for a day, or maybe two." She insisted, growing more excited about the idea.
"I mean, sure. We'd have to run it by your dad, of course. We wouldn't want him to worry about us just disappearing…"
"Yeah, probably. Especially now, with whatever is going on." Melissa hummed, curling up against him. "But would you really go with me? If I left, would you come?"
"Yeah, of course. Why not?" Lucas smiled gently and kissed Melissa again. "It sounds like fun and we haven't got much to lose."
Melissa nodded a bit, curling up once again. “Yeah I guess not. The only thing we could lose would be time- but I mean, as long as we’re both happy it’s not wasted time, right?”
"True. Could be a fun story someday, hmm?" Lucas looked back out at the clearing thoughtfully. "Even if things don't go well, you always get something out of them, don't you?"
