(back!)
Nik didn't glance up. "Okay." he said quietly. Arthur whimpered with fear.
Derlik hummed, standing up. He started off into the woods, moving to hold Arthur in two fingers. Once they were far enough away, the god stopped, lifting Arthur up.
"Now, let's get that smile of yours fixed up~"
Arthur was shaking and gasping, shaking his head with tears pricking at his eyes. "N-no, no, please no."
Derlik sat down on a tree stump, setting Arthur on his knee.
"Now, it's too late for that!" The god laughed some, reaching into his pocket to look for a sewing kit.
"Don't, no, please!" he begged.
"Aw, why not? Don't you want to not have to worry about keeping a smile up all the time~?" Derlik pulled the sewing kit out, setting it on his other knee and opening it.
"Look! I'll even let you pick what color of thread you want!"
"No, please! Please don't, please." he begged, trembling and starting to cry.
Derlik looked down at Arthur apathetically, picking up a needle. He moved it over, letting the tip trail over the man's cheek.
"What. Color."
He flinched and whimpered, tears running down his cheeks. "Please, no. Don't do this to me, please."
"You know," Derlik said, ignoring Arthur's begging, "I think green would look good on you." He picked up the spool, holding it up to the man's head to think on it.
"No, please, I'm sorry! Please don't!"
"Yes, I do think green is what I would suggest. Yes or no?" Derlik set the spool down, undoing the end of it and pulling it out.
"No!" he begged.
"Mm, alright then!" Derlik put the thread back, setting the spool back down. "Blue, then?"
"No, no, please, no."
"Hmm… then what about red? You're running out of options, Arthur, so I would suggest making a choice soon. It might make things easier on you." Derlik glanced down at the man.
"You don't want to know what will happen if you don't choose."
He whimpered in fear.
"Now, blue? Or another color?" Derlik picked the spool up, holding it to Arthur's cheek like he had the other.
"Tell me what you prefer."
"Please." he whispered, voice cracking.
"Arthur." Derlik looked down, growing bored and peeved. "Pick. A. Color."
He whimpered. "B-blue…" he whispered.
"Aw, see? Tha wasn't so hard, now was it?" Derlik gently touched Arthur's cheek as he picked up the spool again. He started to undo the thread, pulling off what he deemed necessary.
"A good choice too. It matches your eyes."
He sobbed softly. "Please." he begged.
Derlik tied the thread to the needle, then, turning back to Arthur.
"Now, you hold still, understood? Squirming around will just make it hurt more, and I don't want to mar that pretty little face of yours too much."
Arthur sobbed again, squeezing his eyes shut. "Don't do this to me, please, don't do this."
"Mmm… nawh. I'm having too much fun with you right now~" Derlik cooed some, raising the needle to the corner of Arthur's mouth. He pushed, letting it pierce through the flesh and into Arthur's mouth. He turned it, pulling it out through Arthur's mouth as well, letting the thread come after.
Arthur screamed when the needle stabbed into his mouth, and he sobbed again.
Derlik only hummed in response. He pulled the thread all the way to the knot at the end, then moved the needle. He used it to pull Arthur's lips up, then stabbed it jut below Arthur's cheekbone and back into his mouth.
Arthur sobbed, whimpering.
Derlik pulled the thread out one more time, tying it off.
"See? We're already halfway done," the god cooed. He touched the holes he'd made, healing them up. Sealing the blue-stained red thread into place.
"Just the other side left.
