"And?" Nyx raised an eyebrow.

Valorie waved shyly at Nyx, holding her head down so her hair would cover her face, giving her somewhat of an excuse to not make eye contact.

"I fixed her up at the house???"

"Oh." Nyx nodded. "Yeah, I remember you."

Valorie just kept her head low, trying to avoid conversation. She remained quiet, letting the other two speak.

"What's really going on?" He asked, knowing she was holding info from him

Valorie shook her head, still trying her best to avoid and possibly even turn the conversation away from her. "I-It's really nothing, so…"

"Okay…" He said, knowing she was lying but okay

Valorie went silent again. It was still unclear what her problem was now, but she seemed kind of shaken by it. However, she let it go, and relaxed herself, and that new calm demeanor was visible too.

There were a few moments of silence, and then Nyx eyed the tree she was leaning against. It was an old oak, with spreading, sturdy branches.
A smirk flitted across her face. "While we're waiting, let's see who can get to the top the fastest."

He teleported to the top.
"I win."

He cheated

Nyx scowled at him; his bright purple tuxedo was visible even from the top of the tree. "Cheater! Get back down here and do it the right way!"

"You said to get to the top, not how to do it." He stated.

Valorie looked up at the tree, still remaining quiet. She let them talk, since she felt like it wasn't a good time to show off her usual, slightly obnoxious demeanor.

She glared at him and hoisted herself up into the tree, clambering lithely through the branches until she reached him.
"Touché," she said stiffly. "But I claim second."

"Better view…" He noticed

Nyx agreed, but she wasn't going to let him know that. Far, far above them, the moon floated in the inky sea of black, a full yellow circle.
She looked down to where Valorie was standing at the foot of the trunk and sighed.

(Is Nyx a tsundere?)
"Val, come join us!"

Valorie didn't bother going up the tree- At least, for a minute or two. Then she began to feel out of place, so she began climbing up. "O-oh geez, I wish this were easier to d-do…" Valorie mumbled, quiet only for only herself to hear.
