“Yeah… maybe you should take a break. You’ve been working for a long time now.” Melissa mumbled, gently nuzzling against him.
“Yeah… maybe you should take a break. You’ve been working for a long time now.” Melissa mumbled, gently nuzzling against him.
"Mm… it'll probably be lunchtime soon, yeah?" Lucas yawned a bit and ran his fingers through his hair.
Melissa nodded a little, sighing softly. “I’m not hungry though…” She stated softly, pulling back so she could stand.
"Yeah, but I'm kinda hungry, so I might at least make myself something." Lucas shrugged. "Your should probably eat too, though."
Melissa nodded a little, fidgeting with her fingers. “Right… I really don’t want to though.” She mumbled a little, walking over to the fridge.
"I know you don't, Mel, but you probably should." Lucas sighed softly and started rooting around in the pantry for something to eat.
Melissa huffed a little, pouring a glass of water. "But m'not hungry…" She insisted, looking up at him.
"I know. What do you want?" Lucas asked, pulling out the ingredients for a sandwich for himself.
"I don't care…" Melissa mumbled, heading over to the table. "I can make my own lunch later."
"Alright… make sure you eat something, though." Lucas made himself a sandwich so he could start eating.
Melissa nodded a little, sitting back down in her seat. She drew her knees up to her chest, resting her chin on them. “Are you taking a break after lunch..?”
"For a little bit, probably. But I can't take too much time off or I'll never get my stuff done." Lucas sighed.
Melissa nodded a little, sighing weakly. “Yeah I know… would you mind if I went for a walk on my own? Sometime later this afternoon.”
"Um… you can if you want. Any reason why?" Lucas asked, seeming a bit concerned.
"Not really… I just wanna get out of the house." Melissa shrugged, playing with her hair some. "Getting some fresh air would be good for me anyways."
Lucas hesitantly nodded. "Alright… if you're not back by dinner, I'll call you to make sure you're okay. How does that sound?" He asked.
Melissa nodded a bit, smiling weakly up at him. "Sounds good… love you." She mumbled a little.
"Love you too, Mel… when do you plan on leaving?" Lucas asked gently, still a bit worried.
"I dunno… probably when you get back to work or something." Melissa shrugged once again, still fidgeting with her sleeves. "Unless you want me to leave sooner..?"
"No, no, you don't have to leave sooner. I just wanted to know in advance. You know how I am with surprises." Lucas laughed weakly.
Melissa smiled weakly, nodding just a bit. She played with her hair some, looking over to him. “You don’t really like them, do you?”
"I… don't always do well with them, no." Lucas smiled sheepishly. "I like to know what's happening or I tend to get a little stressy."
“Mmm, I don’t blame you. I don’t normally like being random either. It’s nice to know what’s going on.” Melissa mumbled as she started to stand up, coming up to him. “Can I have a hug?”
"Of course, Mel…" Lucas hugged Melissa tightly and sighed, burying his face in her shoulder. "I love you…"
Melissa sighed softly, leaning up against him. “I love you too, darling…” She whispered, resting her head on his shoulder. “You’re so loving to me…”
"Mm… you're great to me as well, Melissa. I mean, you're letting me live in your house." Lucas laughed weakly. "Amongst all the other things you have to deal with as well."
“I don’t have to, I do it because I love you. And besides, it’s not ‘dealing with you’ when I want to take care of you.” Melissa whispered, kissing his cheek gently.
"I mean… neither of us wanted me to go to a mental hospital, but you had to deal with that. I'm pretty emotionally demanding."
“Well, I didn’t, but I knew you needed it…” Melissa mumbled, burying her face in his shoulder. “Your needs are more important than my wants.”
"That's not true, Melissa… you're just as important as I am. You were under no obligation to help me if you didn't want to, or if it would be bad for you to do so."
