"Yes, it's totally fine! That's really sweet of you, actually." Astral smiled some, walking with Simon to the pet care isle.
"Yes, it's totally fine! That's really sweet of you, actually." Astral smiled some, walking with Simon to the pet care isle.
“Thank you. I guess we’re just a lot alike, they don’t have anyone to take care of them and I usually don’t either. So I guess it’s kind of a way for me to feel better about my own situation by helping someone else.” He rambled on absentmindedly as he looked through the aisle.
Astral hummed some, nodding along.
"Well, I'm sure they appreciate it, too." He couldn't help but think of Simon like that sometimes. A stry he could use as he wanted. Still, the man had gotten to his soft spot, seeing how he could finally give Astral the thing he wanted most.
He found the bag he’d been looking for after another second and picked it up, skipping back over to Astral and dropping it in the cart. “Okay I’m ready to go then!”
Astral chuckled some when Simon skipped back over.
"Alrighty, let's go pay then." He really didn't know how exactly to do this, of course.
Simon figured as much. “Come on, follow me.” He said, walking towards the self checkout area in the front.
Following close behind, smiling some, Astral hummed to himself.
"You're going to show me what to do," he said.
“Okay. It’s not that hard once you get the hang of it.” He said, starting to check them out once they’d reached the register.
Astral watched Simon a moment, picking up a hoodie and copying him.
"Huh." he chuckled some at his own naivety.
(Ooh nice! i only just got online and saw)
Simon was very amused by seeing Astral amazed at something that was so normal to him. “You really don’t come down here much do you?”
(uwu thank you XD)
"No, not really. Not for things like this." Astral laughed lightly.
Simon chuckled, continuing to scan and bag the items until none were left. “Can I see some money please?” He asked Astral.
"Right, sure." Astral pulled out one of the rolls, smiling a bit.
"This enough?"
“Yeah that should be good.” He said, starting to pay. He hummed softly as he did so, enjoying the simple task. “And we’re all done.” He announced, picking up the bags and handing Astral the change.
Astral accepted the money, picking up a couple bags himself.
"Off to feed the cats?"
“Mhm!” He replied back excitedly, smiling at him. “It’s not too far from here too so it shouldn’t take us too long.”
((Bruh the more I develop Simon as a character the more depressed I get omgggg))
(I knowwwwwwww I feel so horrible for him ;-;)
"We can take as much time as we need," Astral said with a soft smile. The boy was energetic, for sure, and it made Astral pleased to see it.
“Okay!” He smiled back at the other. “It’s not too far from here.” He said, gently taking Astral’s hand and pulling him along. They were headed back towards the same area as where Astral had first found Simon.
((I developed another part of his backstory this morning and ahhhhhhh))
Astral smiled as he followed Simon, holding the man's hand.
"Oh, yeah! I remember, you were trying to call one of the cats out when we first met."
(oh nuuuuuuuuu)
“Yep! I hadn’t seen that one very much before so it was taking awhile to coax him out.” He finally stopped walking, having reached the part of the alley he wanted apparently. He let go of Astral’s hand, grabbing the bag of treats and shaking it a bit. It took a second but one by one, cats began to appear.
((Mhm so that’ll be a future plot point maybe))
(yeeeeee perfect)
"Mm, I see…" Astral smiled softly, looking around as the cats came out.
"I've always been a fan," Astral admitted. "There such sweet creatures." He himself had a leopard as his token animal, after all.
Simon nodded, the cats rubbing up against his legs. He bent down with a smile, starting to pet them. He talked to them quietly, it seemed like he’d named every single one of them.
Astral watched silently, a soft smile on his lips. He knelt down, staying still. He knew the cats didn't know who he was, so he didn't reach out to pet any yet.
Simon looked up at Astral. “Do you want to pet one?” He asked, still smiling widely. “This one’s the friendliest.” He said, pointing at one of the cats, who was nuzzling Simon’s knee.
Nodding, Astral reached out carefully to pet the cat.
"Aww," he said softly. Maybe he should get a cat. Hell, after the baby is born, Simon might end up being a cat.
