“Yeah I guess… I’d really rather stay home with you though…” Melissa mumbled as she pulled back from him.
“Yeah I guess… I’d really rather stay home with you though…” Melissa mumbled as she pulled back from him.
"I know, Mel, but you gotta work… I've gotta work too, but I wasn't scheduled much this week." Lucas shrugged a bit. "The kids aren't doing practice in the middle of winter break."
Melissa huffed a little, but nodded as she looked up at him. "I know, I know… speaking of that, did you ever get an email back from the coach?"
"Yeah, he said he's happy to have me back when it's warm enough for the boys to play." Lucas smiled gently.
"Mm, that's good." Melissa hummed softly with a bright smile. "I went to talk to the coach, and those kids are so cute. They really do love you."
Lucas smiled a bit more brightly and hugged Melissa. "That's good to hear… I've missed them a lot."
"I'm sure you have. I know they've missed you." Melissa hummed softly, resting her head on his shoulder. "And I have too."
"I've missed you too, Mel…" Lucas kissed Melissa softly and held her close to himself. "It really sucked being stuck away from everyone for so long."
"Mmm… it really did." Melissa mumbled, curling up small in his arms. "I hated it so much… I'm so glad you got to come home."
"Me too." Lucas nuzzled against Melissa affectionately and sighed. "It was miserable there, honestly…"
“Mmm, I’m really sorry…” Melissa mumbled as she looked up at him with a bubbly smile at the nuzzling. “But you’re home now. And you don’t have to go back.”
"Hopefully not." Lucas laughed weakly. "I never wanna see that place again. But… we should head back home now."
“Yeah we probably should…” Melissa mumbled, gently starting to pull him along. “Mm… I love you.”
"I love you too, Mel." Lucas kissed Melissa's cheek softly and followed her along. "We'll be alright, won't we?"
Melissa glanced back at him, tipping her head to the side with a curious look. "What do you mean?" She asked softly, still walking towards the entrance of the park.
"I just mean like… we're gonna get through all this together. We won't let our stuff take over." Lucas smiled weakly.
"Oh, yeah. Of course Lucas." Melissa nodded, a soft smile settling on her face. "We're gonna be just fine, darling."
Lucas gently kissed Melissa's cheek and held tighter to her hand. "That's good… we'll have to find you a new therapist."
Melissa flicked her eyes up at him, smiling weakly. "Yeah…" She mumbled, giving his hand a gentle squeeze.
"And I'll keep seeing my current ones… I just don't remember when my next appointments are."
“Mmm, I’ll ask dad when we get home. And I’ll ask about school.” Melissa mumbled, resting her head on his shoulder.
"Sounds good to me, Mel…" Lucas sighed softly and held Melissa close up against his side.
Melissa smiled softly, nuzzling against his cheek with a hum. “Mm… what are we doing when we get back? School?”
"Well, probably the same things we did before." Lucas shrugged a bit. "Hopefully it won't be too different."
“I meant back at the house, darling.” Melissa hummed softly, giving him a sweet smile. “Are we doing schoolwork?”
"Oh, sorry… probably, yeah." Lucas laughed weakly. "Unless you've got a better idea."
Melissa shook her head, holding onto him tightly. “Nope. I wish I did, but the smartest things would be to do school.”
"Fair enough. We'll do some school, then." Lucas gently kissed Melissa's cheek as he followed her along. "And then you'll go to work and I'll do some more school."
“Mm… okay then.” Melissa hummed softly, yawning a little as she nuzzled against him tiredly. “Can’t nap time be in there?”
Lucas laughed softly. "You're welcome to take a nap if you want, but I've got too much work to do."
