“Mm… m’not cute like you.” Melissa hummed, tucking her head under his chin. “You’re cutest.”
“Mm… m’not cute like you.” Melissa hummed, tucking her head under his chin. “You’re cutest.”
Lucas flushed a bit harder and looked away, holding Melissa close to himself. "W-What makes you think so, Mel?" He asked.
“Dunno, I just think so.” Melissa shrugged, nuzzling up against him still. “So I guess you’re able to have your own opinion. But mine is that you’re cuter, and overall more attractive than I am.”
Lucas buried his red face in Melissa's shoulder. "Mel~…" He whined. "You know I gotta disagree with you…"
“Yeah, I know…” Melissa mumbled as she continued to nuzzle against him. “Mm, love you darling….”
"I love you too…" Lucas sighed softly and held tight to Melissa. "You're too good to me, Mel…"
“Mmm, I don’t think so. You deserve better than what I can give you.” Melissa mumbled, curling up even closer.
"Do not…" Lucas insisted, keeping Melissa close to himself. "I'm pretty ordinary. I don't deserve special treatment or anything."
“You’re special to me, isn’t that important enough?” Melissa asked softly, looking up at him. Her face was flushed— whether from cold, or the compliments was unknown. “You’re really important to me. So is your happiness, and well-being.”
Lucas flushed harder. "I… I-I dunno… I mean… y-you're really important to me too, Mel, um… I-I just don't think of myself as being important…"
Melissa started to run her fingers through his hair. “Well, you’re really important to me.” She stated softly, kissing the tip of his nose.
"Thanks, Mel…" Lucas smiled weakly and huddled a bit closer to Melissa. "I love you…"
"Love you too, darling… You're wonderful." Melissa hummed softly, nuzzling up against him.
"No you~…" Lucas nuzzled Melissa in return and sighed. "How long can we stay?" He asked.
"I dunno…" Melissa mumbled as she tucked her head under his chin. "By three, probably…"
"Sounds good to me, love…" Lucas rested his head on Melissa's and sighed softly, keeping her close to himself.
Melissa was curled up against him, taking in his warmth. "Mm… what day of the week is it? I lost track…"
"Dunno… one of them." Lucas shrugged a bit. "Sunday, maybe? Not sure."
“Mm… I’ll check later.” Melissa mumbled, nuzzling against him. “I don’t wanna move right now.”
"Alright, sounds good… it doesn't much matter what day it is, anyway. We're not in school right now."
“But knowing when school starts, it’s probably a good idea to know.” Melissa mumbled, pressing a couple kisses to his face.
"I suppose. Your dad probably knows, anyway." Lucas shrugged a bit and returned the kisses, humming softly to himself.
"Oh, probably…" Melissa shrugged, nuzzling against him some more. "You would think I'd know."
"Well, me too. My sense of time has been pretty off since I got back, though." Lucas shrugged a bit.
Melissa nodded as she yawned, resting her head on his shoulder. “I don’t blame you. It was a weird couple months…”
"Yeah…" Lucas rested his head on Melissa's and sighed. "I just hope I never have to go back there again… I think the meds are helping, at least."
“I don’t think you will. I mean, you’re doing a lot better than you had been.” Melissa mumbled as she looked up at him.
Lucas nodded a bit. "Yeah… I wasn't exactly doing too hot. But I'm better now that I've got drugs and I don't have to see my dad."
“Mhmm… and you’ve got Cody.” Melissa shrugged as she cuddled up even more. “He’ll be with you at school.”
"Yeah, I think that'll help somewhat at least… I just hope he'll be safe there, you know? I'd feel so guilty if something happened to him…"
