Melissa smiles softly, curling in as she looked up at him. After a couple of minutes, her soft smile wavered as a thought hit her. “I don’t think I asked… how’d it go last night?”

"Um… well, it went well with the Cody thing…" Lucas sighed. "Unfortunately, there wasn't a ton they could do about the people who are bothering you. Your dad seemed a bit irked about it."

Melissa let out a soft sigh, resting her head on his shoulder. “I didn’t think there was much they could do…” She sighed softly, curling up closer.

"Yeah… I'll try and stick by you as much as I can, but we've only got so many classes together…" Lucas sighed softly.

Melissa nodded, starting to pick at her sweatshirt. “Yeah… thank you. So much, darling.” She whispered, looking up at him.

"No problem, Mel. I love you~…" Lucas gently kissed Melissa again and held her close.

Tucking her head under his chin, a soft sigh left her lips. “I love you, too… you mean the world to me.” She whispered.

"Mm… ditto." Lucas murmured in reply, starting to shiver a bit from the cold, but ignoring it so he could stay cuddled up with Melissa.

Melissa kept her head tucked under his chin, staying curled up against him. After a little bit, she started to pull away, rubbing at her tired eyes. “Mm… should we go inside? It’s kinda cold…”

"Mmm… probably, but this is so nice…" Lucas whined softly, still shivering as he clung to Melissa.

"It is, but it's getting really cold… we can cuddle on m'bed if you want. It'll be warmer inside." Melissa insisted, leaning in the tighter he held on.

"Mmmmm… fiiiiine…" Lucas sighed softly and reluctantly sat up in the hammock. "We can go in if you wanna."

Melissa sat up too, starting to get up off the hammock as well. “Aren’t you cold?” She asked softly, rubbing her arms.

"Oh, yeah. I'm freezing." Lucas laughed softly as he got up. "I just like being out here with you."

"I like being out here, too, but we could have gone inside earlier Lu… If you were really that cold, why didn't you say anything?" Melissa asked softly, starting to climb down.

Lucas shrugged a bit. "I don't mind being a bit cold, Mel. As long as it isn't for too long, that is…" He was still shivering noticeably as he headed inside with Melissa.

When Lucas was on the floor, Melissa gently pulled him over to her bed. "Clearly we were out there for too long. You're shivering." She noted, laying down and holding her arms out to him.

"Mm…" Lucas huddled up with Melissa on the bed, his trembling making her shake a bit as well. "Yeah… it's pretty cold out." He laughed weakly.

Melissa ignored it the best she could, gently nuzzling against his cheek. "I can tell, your face is really cold." She hummed, a light smile on her lips.

"Y-Yeah…" Lucas buried his face in Melissa's shoulder and sighed, keeping her very close to himself to steal her warmth.

Melissa sighed gently, resting her chin on the top of his head. "You alright?"

"Mhmm… just cold…" Lucas murmured in reply. "I'm fine, though… you?"

"Fine, I guess… like you, I'm cold." Melissa shrugged, nuzzling up even closer to him. "I'll be fine."

Lucas nodded a bit, keeping Melissa close to himself for the sake of both of them, although he didn't exactly have much heat to share with her. "I love you…"

"Love you, too…" Melissa hummed, curling up even smaller in his arms. "You mean a lot to me…"

Lucas flushed a bit and smiled gently. "You mean a lot to me too, Mel…" He toyed with her hair and hummed softly to himself.

Melissa smiled in return to him, as he played with her hair. She grew a lot more relaxed as they lay there, gently tracing circles into his chest. "Mm… I love winter time, but I don't like how cold it is…"

"Same…" Lucas closed his eyes and relaxed with Melissa, sighing softly to himself as he did so. "At least it's nice and warm inside."

"Mhmm… it's comfortable here…" She mumbled, pulling him even closer. "I don't wanna have to get up…"

"Me either… we gotta go back to our homework eventually, though." Lucas laughed weakly.
