“I probably do…” Melissa mumbled, lingering for a couple seconds before checking her bag. “What assignment are you on?”

"I'm doing some math right now…" Lucas showed Melissa his paper.

Melissa nodded, pulling out a notebook and sliding it over to him. “I dunno if it’ll help or not.”

"Thanks, Mel…" Lucas accepted the notebook and flipped to the right page, starting to read over it.

“No problem…“ Melissa mumbled, resting her head on his shoulder as he read.

After a couple of minutes, Lucas returned to his homework, frequently glancing over to the notes to make sure he was doing it right.

Melissa was gently rubbing his back, not really wanting to let go of him. She was content watching him for the time being.

Lucas rested his head on Melissa's shoulder while he worked, humming softly to himself as he did so.

Melissa looked up at him, smiling weakly as she continued to rub his back. “Love you…”

"Love you too, Mel…" Lucas gently kissed Melissa's cheek and sighed softly. "We should take a break soon…"

“Mm… probably.” Melissa mumbled, gently nuzzling against him. “Could we go outside? The house is feeling kind of stuffy…”

"Yeah, sure. Anywhere you wanna go?" Lucas asked. "Or do you just wanna sit on the roof for a bit?"

“Um… sure. The roof is fine with me.” Melissa hummed, letting go of him so she could stretch. “Are we going now?”

"If you want to." Lucas shrugged a bit and stretched as well, yawning as he did so. "I'm fine to do whatever."

“Then can we?” She asked softly, getting up and hesitantly starting towards the stairs. “We can wait if you want to keep working.”

"We can go now, Mel." Lucas got to his feet as well and took Melissa's hand to follow her up.

Melissa kept a hold on his hand, going towards her room. “It’s probably cold, isn’t it?” She mumbled, heading towards her closet. “I should probably grab a sweatshirt.”

"Yeah, probably… I mean, it's January." Lucas laughed softly. "It's definitely chilly out."

Melissa gave him a little smile as she picked one up, and pulled it on. "Yeah… and there's still snow on the ground." She hummed, climbing up to the roof.

Lucas nodded a bit, pulling on his own jacket as he followed Melissa up onto the roof.

"Mm… it's colder than I thought it would be…" Melissa mumbled, glancing over to Lucas. As soon as he was on his feet, she pulled him into a hug. "I love you, so much…"

"I love you too, Mel…" Lucas kissed Melissa gently and returned the hug. "We might not want to stay out in the cold for too long." He laughed softly.

"Mm, probably not." Melissa hummed, wrapping her arms around his neck tightly. "For a couple minutes, though. We should be fine if we stay cuddled up."

Lucas nodded a bit and huddled up with Melissa, smiling gently. "That sounds great to me, Mel."

Melissa mirrored his smile, pulling back and holding his face in her hands. "You're lovely…" She hummed, kissing the tip of his nose.

"No you~…" Lucas murmured softly, returning the kisses and huddling closer.

Melissa’s smile only grew when he returned the kisses, fits of giggles escaping. “Lucas~”

Lucas grinned and laughed softly as well. "Melissa~… you wanna sit down?" He asked.

Melissa kept up her bubbly smile, face glowing as she nodded. “Sure!” She hummed, starting to pull him over to the hammock.

Lucas curled up in the hammock with Melissa, humming happily to himself. "Mmm~…"
