"Mhmm. I'll be there, and we've got some classes together, and everything's gonna be fine."

Melissa nodded again, holding onto him tighter. "I love you… thank you for being you…"

Lucas smiled gently down at Melissa. "No problem, Mel. I try my best. Love you too…"

Melissa smiled in return, nuzzling up against him. "You're wonderful… I'm so sorry I haven't been listening to you today…" She mumbled.

"No problem…" Lucas murmured again, holding tight to Melissa. "I just want what's best for you. You know that, right?"

"Yeah- I… um, thank you…" Melissa whispered, burying her face in his chest. "I know you love me."

Lucas nodded a bit and rested his head against Melissa's. "Mhmm… and even when I say that we should do things you don't wanna do, there's usually a reason for it."

"Mhmm… m'sorry I'm so stubborn…" Melissa mumbled, curling up closer as her eyes started getting heavy. "I- I don't mean to be… I just feel like I have to argue…"

"Well, you don't have to. I mean, unless I'm saying something really dumb." Lucas laughed softly. "Usually I'm trying to help."

"I know I don't… but- but when you want me to eat, my… my first reaction is no. I don't want to." Melissa looked up at him. "It's frustrating."

"Mm…" Lucas kissed Melissa softly. "It's okay. I know you don't want to, but… I can't just let you not eat."

"I know, I know…" She buried her face back in his chest, yawning. "I just- don't want to, though."

"I know, Mel…" Lucas held Melissa a bit more tightly. "I love you…"

“Mm… love you too…” Melissa mumbled, looking up at him. “You’re so good to me…”

"Glad you think so, darling." Lucas smiled gently down at Melissa. "You're pretty great yourself."

Melissa smiled a little, nuzzling against him just a little. "M'not, but whatever…" She mumbled, holding onto him tighter.

"I think you are." Lucas peppered Melissa's face with small kisses. "And that's what matters, right?"

"Mmmmm… I guess soooo~" Melissa's face was flushing pink, a bubbly smile on her face.

"Mhmm!" Lucas kissed Melissa a bit more, pulling her on top of himself and holding her close so she couldn't get away.

Melissa was giggling, trying to hide her face from him. "Stooooooop~" She mumbled, holding on to him still.

"Mmmm… I don't wanna." Lucas stuck his tongue out playfully and kissed Melissa again, grinning brightly.

"But Luuuuuu…" Melissa huffed, tucking her hair back. She nuzzled up against his chest, a slightly pouty smile on her lips.

"I mean, I'll stop if you actually want me to, but I don't think you do." Lucas laughed softly.

Melissa looked up at him, still keeping up the pouty smile. "How do you know me so well?" She mumbled, still nuzzling him.

"We've known each other for most of our lives, darling. It would be kinda sad if I didn't know your tells."

"Mm… that's true. But still." Melissa smiled, looking up at him with a soft sigh. "You're wonderful, you know that, right?"

Lucas flushed a bit and smiled gently down at Melissa. "I'm glad you think so, darling."

Melissa kept smiling brightly, nuzzling noses with him. For the time being, she was distracted and happy as she curled up closer to him. "Mmm… I love you~"

"Love you too, Mel… should we try and tackle some of that homework?" Lucas asked gently.

"Mm… but I'm happy… I don't want you to be stressed out. I'll be sad, then." Melissa pouted, curling back up against him.
