Twili set Smoke down on her shoulder a moment, pulling her board out.

Smoke mewed, draping himself around her neck.

Twili scratched Smoke's head, then returned to her board. She held it up for Nik.
Things will be okay.

Nik shrugged faintly.

Twili let out a breath, setting her board down again.

Nik closed his eyes for a moment.

Twili scratched Smoke's head. She really did want to help Nik feel better.

Smoke purred softly.

Twili tilted her head a bit, nuzzling against Smoke.

Smoke kept purring quietly.

Twili scratched the top of Smoke's head, a deep rumble of satisfaction in her throat.

Smoke purred again, leaning into the touch.

Twili lightly placed her head on Smoke, smiling softly.

Smoke kept purring softly.

Twili kissed Smoke's side, still smiling.

Smoke opened his eyes to look at her.

Twili laughed silently, nuzzling against Smoke.

Twili scratched the top of Smoke's head, moving him back to her lap.

Smoke purred again.

Twili grinned down at Smoke, scratching down his back.

Smoke purred, arching up into her hands.

Twili smiled when Smoke purred, making her own rumbling sound- it was one of the only ones she could.

Smoke glanced up at her, still purring.

Twili smiled, scratching Smoke's chin lightly.

Smoke kept purring.

With a low sound of content, Twili held Smoke close to herself.

Smoke cuddled close to her, still purring. Nik lay down on his side, curling into a ball.

Twili looked up when Nik moved to lay down, watching him a moment.

It was a while before Derlik finally came back. To say he'd gone all out would be an understatement- he was still cleaning the blood out from underneath his nails.

Nik didn't move when Derlik came back, not looking up at the god.
