Matthew nodded a bit, setting Rowan down.
"I'll be back in a moment." He left, going to open the door.
Matthew nodded a bit, setting Rowan down.
"I'll be back in a moment." He left, going to open the door.
Rowan nodded as well and gently pet the chick's heads, sighing softly to himself.
Matthew spoke softly to the sitter a moment, leading them inside.
"Hello, sir," the sitter said when they saw Rowan. "I'm Mia, I'll be the one watching your pets!" She had a long slim tail, leopard ears on her head.
"Uhm… hi…" Rowan replied nervously, holding the nest closer to himself. Hopefully she won't scare Tammy… or try to eat any of them…
Tammy peeked out of the nest at the new voice. She froze a moment, but when she wasn't attacked she relaxed.
"Is there anything in particular you need to inform me of before I take care of the pets for you?"
"Uhm… Tammy tends to explore a lot and tries to get to places she shouldn't be, so… you'll want to watch for that. Tommy sleeps pretty much all of the time, so you shouldn't have to worry about him too much… We've got some grubs for them to eat. They eat two or three times a day depending on how often they whine about being hungry… they're pretty sweet, though, so I hope you won't have too much trouble…"
Mia nodded a bit.
"Okay then! I'm sure we'll all have a lot of fun together!" Matthew offered his hand to Rowan.
"Shall we get going?" he asked softly.
"U-Uhm… yeah…" Rowan held Timmy close to himself as he headed out with Matthew, his anxiety returning full force.
Timmy looked over Rowan's shoulder as they left his siblings, nuzzling a bit against Rowan's neck. Matthew wrapped one are securely around Rowan, keeping him close as they walked.
"Are you sure you're okay..?"
Rowan nodded, trying to ignore the way that his breath caught in his throat. His eyes stung a bit, so he closed them, just allowing Matthew to lead him along.
Matthew glanced down at Rowan, very concerned. He bent down, lightly wrapping his arms around the human and picking him up.
Rowan hugged Matthew tightly when he was picked up, quivering lightly. "I-I'm sorry, I… I'm fine…"
"It's okay," Matthew said softly. "But please… don't lie to me." Matthew held Rowan close as he started walking again.
"I-I dunno, honestly…" Rowan whispered. "I'm just… I'm so stressed…"
Matthew rubbed Rowan's back.
"I know, I know…"
"I don't even know why… I'm just… I'm scared…" Rowan gripped Matthew more tightly.
"I… It's okay to be scared," Matthew said softly. "You're going through so much right now…"
Rowan nodded weakly. "I feel like such a wuss, though… I-I mean, I'm technically an adult, and just look at me…"
"Rowan, even an adult can struggle with these things…" Matthew shook his head a bit. "It doesn't make you a wuss."
Rowan whimpered a bit as he clung to Matthew. "B-But I feel like one… I'm so stupid…"
"I know you feel like one," Matthew said softly. "But I'm going to do everything I can to help you see that you aren't…"
"O-Okay…" Rowan whispered weakly. "I-I just… I don't even know why this is stressing me out so much…"
Matthew rubbed Rowan's back a bit, still making his way down the streets.
"I… You're going through a lot right now," Matthew tried to reason. He didn't very well know either- he was spitballing at this point. "It's building up, all the little things."
Rowan nodded weakly. "I guess so… I-I just… hopefully this'll all be over soon and everything will be fine and I can relax…"
"It will be, I'm sure…" Matthew lightly rubbed Rowan's back. He came to a stop in front of a building, one that looked almost eerily similar to a small skyscraper you might find in Rowan's world. It stood out among all the rest, looking modern in a world of medical magic.
Rowan looked up at the building curiously, still seeming to be very uneasy. "Hopefully this won't take too long…"
"I'm sure it won't," Matthew said softly. He moved into the building, looking around. It really was like a modern business office. Timmy let out a soft coo, looking around curiously while staying curled up on Rowan's shoulder, head on Matthew's chest.
Rowan pet Timmy and sighed shakily. "You'll be good while we're getting our things, right? I wanna make sure you'll be safe."
Timmy nodded. He leaned into Rowan, rubbing little circles against his neck. Matthew moved up to the reception desk, holding Rowan close.
"Mm…" Rowan closed his eyes and fell silent as he buried his face in Matthew's chest. He figured the avian could handle the talking.
