I got yelled at for suggesting that Chadwick Boseman merited commemoration, on the grounds that "we don't just commemorate every celebrity who dies." (After making it clear that it was because he was iconic and died young after working right through a terminal illness, no less.)

imo the best Lego Ron is either the one from 2010 or the 2020 minifig line one, I picked him up yesterday and he's very adorable! Came with a little glass of butterbeer, his expression's a little doofy though

Fun fact! That Ron's reversable face is literally him passed out (I don't have this one as I didn't start collecting HP legos until 2018 and also he lowkey scares me so I will not be picking him up) because he was originally in a set based on the mermaid trial in Goblet of Fire
So his two expressions are drunk and blackout drunk basically
Very cool, Lego, very family friendly!
I have so much ranting and raving I could do about Lego if anyone wants to indulge me lmao

Anyways I hate the new Ginny face, the 2010 one was so cute!!

iirc, they changed Hermione's face back to having two normal expressions for the 2008 sets (set? I think they might've just done a huge Hogwarts that year) but didn't for Ron??

The new one looks so bland.

ikr? The minifig line one (which is too new to find a good pic of) has two little smiles, this one just has Fleur's face but with weirder eyebrows

They did that for Ron too! Ugh it kind of annoys me but the new Ron is also very adorable
They changed Harry's hair and he just looks…meh. Especially since the original Lego Harry Potter hair is like lowkey iconic

Honestly the leap in quality between the 2018 and 2020 lines of HP minifigs (specifically the blind bag ones, which I've taught myself how to feel through) is pretty vast; almost all of the 2020 ones have double-sided heads (whereas only a couple of the 2018 ones did)
In general, I feel like some of the updates made were a bit unnecessary (changing Ginny's face, Harry and Molly's hair, giving Lavender Brown Lego Friends hair for some reason??) but altogether pretty good.
