“Goodnight.” He said quietly into the darkness.
“Goodnight.” He said quietly into the darkness.
"Night Ethan." She whispered back before falling asleep like she'd been hit upside the head with a hammer. When she was tired, Becca slept like the dead.
Jax and Ethan stayed asleep the entire night, Jax was the first one to wake up and somehow managed not to wake up the other two.
Becca stayed asleep. It would take nothing short of a zombie apocalypse to wake this girl up so good luck with that one.
And of course Jax did try as soon as Ethan was awake to witness his stupidity. Jax poked Becca’s cheek for probably the millionth time. “Ethan I think she’s dead.” He said in a dramatic stage whisper.
Ethan rolled his eyes. “Jax leave her alone.”
If anything, his poking made her snuggle further into the pillow beneath her to try and get away from it. Not dead, just dead asleep.
Jax smiled softly. “Okay, okay I’ll stop…” Jax said and Ethan nodded, turning away to do something else. “SIKE!” Jax yelled, yanking the pillow away and out from under Becca.
Her head dropped to the floor with an unpleasant thud, successfully waking her with a groan.
“Morning sleepyhead!” Jax said with a smile, leaning over her.
Ethan sighed. “I tried to stop him, I’m sorry.”
She swatted Jax away with a grumble, blearing opening one eye. "Thanks anyway Ethan, I appreciate the effort."
“C’mon it’s 10 am already and I was bored!” Jax whined.
Ethan rolled his eyes, punching the other in the shoulder. “You’re such an idiot.”
"And might've given me a headache." She sat up on her elbows, shaking her hair out of her eyes.
“You’ll be fine it’s good for you.” Jax said dismissively.
Ethan sighed, turning to Becca. “Do you need me to get you anything?”
"Nah, I'll be fine. Just didn't appreciate having my pillow being tugged out from under me and slamming my head onto the floor."
“Well anyway, you guys want something to eat?” Ethan asked, standing up from where he’d been sitting on the floor.
"That'd be nice." She fully sat up with a yawn, running her fingers through her hair.
“Okay, anything specific you want?” Ethan asked.
“Ethan can actually cook.” Jax told her in an astonished tone.
“Perks of mostly living alone I guess.” Ethan shrugged.
"Um, surprise me? I don't usually get breakfast so I don't have any preferences."
“Okay then we’re having waffles.” Ethan announced, leaving the room.
“Yes!” Jax cheered, grinning widely.
She shook her head with a smile. "You're an actual child, I swear."
Jax shrugged. “More fun that way I guess.”
"You have more energy than you should for this early in the morning." She yawned again, rubbing sleep from her eyes.
“Yeah but I’ve been up for like an hourrrrr.” He said, standing and offering her a hand up.
"That sounds like a you problem." She took his hand and pulled herself up, listening to her bones crack and pop as she did.
He shrugged. “C’mon!” He gently began dragging her out of the room and downstairs.
"Okay, okay, there's no need to pull!" She laughed, stumbling over her feet as he suddenly tugged her forward but managed to catch herself without faceplanting.
“Well you weren’t moving quickly enough.” Jax said simply before racing down the stairs.
She rolled her eyes and went down after him. But she missed the last step and fall. Hard. She watched her life flash before her eyes before she hit the floor with a sickening thud. "Ow…"
“Jesus Christ! You really wiped out.” Jax exclaimed, kneeling down next to her, his face full of concern. “Are you okay? Anything broken or bleeding?” He asked worriedly.
“Jax! What’d you do?!” Ethan yelled from the kitchen, having heard the thud.
“For once I didn’t do anything!” Jax hollered back.
She sat up with a pained groan. "I think I'm okay. Nothing that wasn't bleeding or broken before I fell." She laughed breathlessly. She cradled her now slightly pounding head in her non injured hand considering her broken wrist was now pulsing with pain since she'd landed on it.
