Nik remained silent, unmoving.

Derlik let out a faint breath. Bore. Ing.

Smoke mewed faintly, squirming a little and peeking over at Derlik.

Derlik looked at Smoke in turn, reaching out to lightly pat his head.

Smoke purred faintly, closing his eyes.

Derlik continued to pet Smoke, ignoring Nik for now.

Smoke was still in Nik's arms, curled contentedly there, with Derlik petting his head.

Derlik let out a soft hum. This was better than nothing, he supposed.

Nik was silent.

Derlik ignored Nik. Honestly, he did care more about Smoke than the human at this point.

(hhhh we need to figure out some way to make them get along better)

Nik stayed silent, not knowing what to do. About any of this.

Derlik let out a soft hum, glancing at Nik a moment.

(o fuck lmao. I mean alternatively we could figure out some way for Derlik to learn more about Nik's history?? Because I feel like he'd be pretty pissed about what Nik's ex did to him)

Nik was silent, eyes closed as he cuddled Smoke close.

(ooo yes, but how would we do it? I figure Nik won't open up about it, and it'll get repetitive if all Derlik does is read his mind)

Derlik let out a sigh, patting Smoke's head lightly.

(hmmmmm well the only way I can figure is if either Nik's shirt came off or Derlik touched his stomach, bc he's got scars there from his ex (ex carved a word into him with a knife; I'll reveal the word later lmao))

Smoke mewed faintly, leaning into Derlik's hand.

Derlik chuckled softly, continuing to pet the cat.

Smoke purred faintly, but made no move to get out of Nik's arms. Sure, he enjoyed that Derlik was petting him, but he also knew that Nik needed him.

Derlik ran his hand down Smoke's back lightly, going back to ignoring Nik. He figured Smoke wouldn't want to come over, so he didn't bother.

Smoke purred again, arching up into the touch.

Derlik smiled, scratching Smoke's head again.
"Good kitty…"

Smoke kept purring, blinking up at Derlik.

Derlik smiled down at Smoke, scratching under his chin a bit.

Smoke purred again, closing his eyes.

Derlik grinned, looking to be in a much brighter mood than before.

Nik shifted a little bit, still holding onto Smoke.

Derlik looked up when Nik shifted. He let out a breath, pulling his hand away.

Smoke blinked his eyes open.

Derlik ran his fingers through his hair, sighing.

Nik bit his lip faintly.

(idk how to get Derlik to see the scar?? Because he would feel it if his hand was under Nik's shirt for whatever reason, and it's visible if the shirt is off, but otherwise there's no way to tell)

(Hmmm…. I feel like if Derlik were to try to take Smoke from Nik there'd be a bit of a struggle, and his shirt gets pushed up? Idk)

Derlik looked away a moment.
