@ElderGod-Icefire
He shrugged a shoulder, clenching his jaw for a moment.
He shrugged a shoulder, clenching his jaw for a moment.
"You…" The woman looked away a moment.
"You've been called evil too, haven't you."
He nodded a little bit, one hand moving to rub his wrist for a moment.
"We're not, you know." The woman looked up, hands behind her back so Alex couldn't see them shaking.
"Different isn't evil."
"I know." he whispered.
The woman nodded. It was clear sometimes she struggled with it.
"Can I… Can I ask about what you can do?"
His eyes flickered. "I…" he shook his head a little bit.
"Okay, then…" The woman looked away a moment.
"Can… I tell you about mine?"
He nodded slowly. "I…if you want to?"
"I… can bring people back." The woman looked up at Gabe then.
Alex's eyes widened, and he stared at her for a moment. "Can…can you help me, then?" he asked, very softly and hesitantly.
The woman hesitated a moment, then nodded.
"I can."
He tried not to get his hopes up. "You…" he trailed off, looking up at Gabe for a moment, then at her again.
The woman nodded once more.
"I can bring him back." Gabe felt the breath leave his lungs. It… it would happen?
Alex bit his lip. "I-I can't…I don't have a way to repay you."
"That's perfectly fine, dear," The woman said quietly. "You don't need to."
He looked at her. "Are…are you sure?"
"I'm sure," the woman promised.
He bit his lip a little. "Then…then can we…can you…" He didn't know how to ask. He looked at Gabe for a moment, then at the woman again.
"Please," Gabe said softly. The thought of being alive again, he… it was incredible. Impossible. Yet… here it was.
"Then step over here," the woman said softly, motioning for Gabe to go to her.
Alex let go of Gabe's hand, biting his lower lip faintly, hardly able to believe that he was going to get him back, whole and healthy and…and alive.
Gabe let go in turn, looking at Alex for one last time before moving forward. The woman placed her hand against his chest, closing her eyes. And then… well, he just there. Alive. In a body. Gabe didn't even have time to process what had just happened, just like what had happened with Alex.
Alex's eyes went wide at the sigh of Gabe's new body, and he nearly tripped and fell as he wrapped his arms tight around the other man.
Gabe stumbled some, then wrapped his arms around Alex in turn.
"I've got you…" Gabe spoke softly, burying his face in Alex's hair.
(gtg, will be back in an hour or two)
Alex buried his face in Gabe's shoulder. "Love you."
"I love you too." Gabe gently kissed the top of Alex's head, pulling him closer.
"So, so much…"
Alex clung to Gabe, not wanting to let go ever again.
Gabe looked up a moment, at the woman who had brought him back.
"Thank you," he said softly. He ran his fingers through Alex's hair, tears coming to his eyes.
He looked up at the woman, murmuring his own thank you.
The woman offered a soft smile.
"You're welcome," she said. Then, she turned, and was gone. And when they were alone, Gabe bent his head down, kissing Alex quickly.
