"Mhmm…" Rowan nodded a bit and huddled a little closer to Matthew. "What time is it?" He asked softly. "Should we head out soon?"
"Mhmm…" Rowan nodded a bit and huddled a little closer to Matthew. "What time is it?" He asked softly. "Should we head out soon?"
"It's about an hour after sunrise. I've got breakfast ready, so once we feed the chicks and eat ourselves, we should head out." Matthew rested his head on Rowan's a bit.
"Mm… sounds good to me." Rowan yawned again with a soft sigh. "Do we have any extra grubs or do we need to go looking?"
"We have enough, but we should probably get some more before we leave." Matthew smiled a bit.
"Alrighty… maybe I can feed them while you go looking for more?" Rowan suggested in a soft voice.
Matthew nodded. He offered some food to Rowan first.
"We'll eat first," he said with a soft smile.
"Mmkay…" Rowan accepted the food from Matthew and slowly began to eat, still clearly sleepy.
Matthew smiled a bit at Rowan. He himself got some food, eating with Rowan in his lap.
Rowan soon finished his food and got himself more settled in Matthew's lap. "You're comfy~…"
"Why, thank you. You're welcome to sit with me like this any way you want." Matthew finished his food, resting his head on Rowan's.
"Mm… thanks, Matthew…" Rowan huddled a little closer with a soft smile. "Should we feed the chicks now?"
Matthew nodded. He grabbed the grub bag, which was almost empty.
"Here, we should wake them up now."
"Alrighty. Wake up, babies~" Rowan purred, gently rubbing each of the chicks' heads. "It's breakfast time!"
Tammy was the first to wake up, yawning. She looked up at Rowan, grinning. Timmy was next, sitting up groggily with his brother clinging to him. It was hard to tell if Tommy was awake or not.
"Y'all hungry?" Rowan asked with a soft smile, dangling a grub over Tammy's head. "You gotta eat before we head out again."
Tammy reached up, quickly grabbing the grub and biting into it. Matthew smiled softly.
"They're so cute…"
"They really are… I can't wait til they're old enough to eat something less nasty than grubs." Rowan laughed.
Matthew laughed lightly as well.
"It'll be another week or so," Matthew said with a smile.
"Mhmm… do you wanna go look for more while I'm feeding them?" Rowan asked, holding another grub out to Timmy and nudging Tommy again.
Tommy slowly opened his eyes, looking up at Rowan grumpily.
"Alright then." Matthew set Rowan down, leaving his hand on Rowan's shoulder a moment, then left. Timmy took the grub, biting it.
"I know, baby… I'm sorry I woke you. You can go back to sleep after you eat, okay?" Rowan held a grub out to Tommy with a reassuring smile.
Tommy smiled slightly at the assurance, grabbing onto the grub. He ate quickly, finishing before the other two. He curled up, ready to sleep again.
"There you go, baby." Rowan gently rubbed Tommy's head before turning back to the other two. "Are you guys still hungry?"
Tammy and Timmy shook their heads. Tammy grinned, standing up and coming to the edge of the nest. She wanted to explore! Matthew came back soon, the bag full.
"You can explore a little bit, okay? Don't leave my sight. Stay close, Tammy." Rowan gently helped her out of the nest.
Tammy nodded quickly, scrambling out of the nest with a happy chirp. Matthew watched her carefully, sitting down with Rowan.
Rowan kept a close eye on Tammy while she wandered around and left one hand in the nest so that the other two could cling to him if they wanted.
Tommy was already asleep, but Timmy latched onto Rowan's finger. Tammy cooed, running a bit up to Matthew. She spread her wings wide at him, arms up in the arm.
Rowan gently rubbed Timmy's head with a soft smile. "Having fun, Tammy? Staying close?" He asked.
Tammy turned to Rowan, grinning and nodding. Timmy cooed a bit, looking up at Rowan and smiling gently.
