Derlik hummed faintly.
"They don't really do much unless you make them," he said.
Derlik hummed faintly.
"They don't really do much unless you make them," he said.
He cocked his head faintly. "Oh."
Derlik tilted his head a bit.
"Want to see?"
He blinked a few times. "Uhm…I don't know…"
Derlik wrapped his arms gently around Smoke, petting him a bit.
"It'll be interesting," he said.
Smoke frowned faintly. "But…"
"Yes?" Derlik tilted his head a bit. "I won't be mean to it, if you don't want me to."
Smoke shrugged a little. "I don't know…"
"Okay, okay." Derlik patted Smoke's head lightly.
Smoke peered down at the soul again, turning it in his hands.
The soul didn't do anything, just resting in Smoke's hands for now. Derlik hummed faintly.
"Here, want me to show you?"
Smoke thought for a moment, then nodded a little. "Yeah, sure." he replied with a shrug, holiding it out to Derlik.
Derlik reached out, lightly tapping the soul. This would let him unfold, and actually respond to what been happening to him.
Smoke watched quietly, unsure what to say.
The man was, unsurprisingly, terrified. Derlik had killed him, after all. Derlik sat back a bit.
"It's yours, what do your want to do?" The man shrunk away. The death… Hadn't been a pretty one.
Smoke looked down at the man, worried and unsure. "I, uhm…"
The man looked up at Smoke, trembling a bit. Derlik lightly put his hand on Smoke's head.
(gotta go now, sorry!)
Smoke frowned a little bit.
(okay then!)
"Do you not want it? I can take it back." Derlik hummed a bit.
(good night!)
Smoke shrugged. "I don't know what to do."
(night!)
"Okay then…" Derlik reached out to the soul. He scrambled away, trying to hide behind Smoke's arms.
Smoke blinked at the soul, then at Derlik.
Derlik sighed softly, catching the soul in his fingers.
Smoke wasn't sure what to do, just watched quietly.
Derlik touched the struggling soul's forehead, turning him back into a ball.
"Sorry about that. Do you not want it?"
He shrugged a little bit. "I don't know. I don't know what to do with it. It's…somebody's life."
Derlik let out a soft breath.
"Ah, I see…" He thought a moment. "This man did really, really bad things in his life. It's my job to punish people because of that. Does that make sense?"
"But…" he frowned a little bit. "I guess so, but…" he shook his head a little bit. "I don't know."
"Well, his punishment would be to be yours. You don't have to do anything to him, okay? Just keep him. Can you do that?" Derlik gently rubbed Smoke's head. That's what the man got for trying to take Nik for the night.
Smoke nodded a little, looking down at the orb. "Okay." he said, leaning into the touch and closing his eyes.
