“If you want to, that’d be great,” Nick said, relieved to be moving on to another topic.
“If you want to, that’d be great,” Nick said, relieved to be moving on to another topic.
"Yeah… I normally take him everywhere with me since he's allowed, but I didn't want him to get hurt at school. He's… he's really important to me."
Nick nodded slightly. “I can imagine. I’d love to see him then.”
Cas nodded a bit as well and started fidgeting again. "He's really sweet… I think you'll like him."
Nick smiled. “That’s good. I think I will too.”
Cas was quiet for a few seconds. "So… what should we do now?" He asked.
“Um…we could try riding bikes now? Or just take a break and watch some TV?” Nick suggested.
"Let's just watch TV or something… pretty sure my brain is done learning things for now." Cas sighed.
Nick chuckled softly, but not in a mean way. “Yeah, I get that. Let’s go back to the living room then.”
Cas nodded and got to his feet, quietly following Nick into the living room. "Or we could play more of your video games, I guess, but that requires my brain to work…"
“Have you ever seen Parks and Rec?” Nick asked, turning on the television.
Cas shook his head. "Nope. There wasn't a TV at my house, and I haven't tried it out at my foster home."
“Well Parks and Rec is one of the best shows ever,” Nick replied with a grin, starting an episode. “I wanna see if you like it.”
"Alright, if you say so. Is there any more ice cream?" Cas asked, flopping down on the couch with Nick.
“Yeah, do you want more?” Nick asked, already starting to get up again.
Cas nodded a bit. "Yeah, if you don't mind… I don't really wanna be any trouble."
“It’s no problem!” Nick assured him. “Same flavor?”
"Yeah, thanks…" Cas hesitated before turning his attention back to the TV, trying to figure out what was going on.
Nick went to the kitchen and got Cas another couple of scoops ice cream in bowl with a spoon and then came back into the living room. “Here ya go,” he said, handing it to Cas.
"Thank you." Cas smiled weakly and started eating his ice cream. "So… who are these people?" He asked, pointing to the screen.
“Oh, that’s Leslie, and that’s Ron, and that’s Tom, and that’s Jerry and, that’s April, and that’s Andy,” Nick said, pointing to each character as they came on screen. He explained a little bit about all of their personalities as well.
Cas listened attentively, but he still didn't really understand what was going on. "So like… what are they trying to do? What's their goal?"
“They work in the parks and rec department of Pawnee, Indiana, and in this episode Leslie is trying to plan a county fair sort of thing,” Nick continued to explain.
"Oh… okay." Cas rested his head on Nick's shoulder with a soft hum. "Who's your favorite?" He asked curiously to make conversation.
Nick’s heart jolted a bit when Cas put his head on Nick’s shoulder, but he smiled. “I think April is really funny.”
"Which one was April, again?" Cas asked, keeping his eyes on the screen to see if he could find who Nick was talking about.
“The girl who’s Ron’s assistant,” he replied. “Her.” He pointed as she came on screen.
Cas nodded a bit and shifted slightly closer to Nick. "Then I guess she's my favorite too since I don't really know anyone."
Nick grinned. “She’s the best character.”
"If you say so, Nick." Cas hummed a bit. "How long am I allowed to stay here?" He asked.
