Cas gently kissed Zachary's cheek and hummed happily, clearly more interested in him than whatever was on the screen.

Zachary kissed Cas's forehead in turn, smiling faintly. He rubbed Cas's back, nuzzling his nose against Cas's.

"I love you~…" Cas whispered softly, returning the nuzzles as he huddled a bit closer. He closed his eyes with a soft smile.

"I love you~" Zachary said gently in turn. He grinned, humming faintly as he kissed Cas lightly on the lips.

Cas grinned as well and returned the kiss happily, wrapping his arms around Zachary's neck.

Zachary wrapped his arms around Cas's waist, humming gently as he kissed Cas.

Cas hummed in reply and finally allowed himself to fully relax in Zachary's arms. He was still smiling and he seemed to be content.

Zachary hummed softly when Cas fully relaxed, glad for it. He closed his eyes a moment, then opened then with a brighter smile.

Cas smiled right back at him and buried his face in his chest, hugging him tightly. "Mmm~…"

Zachary hugged Cas back, kissing his head.
"Love you~" he said again. He'd never get tired of saying it.

"Love you too, Zachary~…" Cas purred, his face flushing a bit. He looked up when he heard Nix shuffling around in his sleep.

Serna looked down at Nix, gently rubbing his head a bit.
"Sweetie?" she said softly. Zachary looked up a moment, kissing Cas's head again anyway.

Nix whined softly in his sleep and shifted around uncomfortably, his tail puffing up. "Nix?" Cas asked softly, hesitating before reaching out to rest the back of his hand on Nix's forehead. "He's burning up…"

Serna nodded. She slowly moved Nix off of her lap, standing up. She shifted the ice around again, taking away the melted packs.
"I'm going to go get some more," she said. "if he keeps getting warmer, let me know. I might have to put him in an ice bath, especially with how hot he was earlier…"

"Okay…" Cas ran his fingers through Nix's hair soothingly, watching him with a worried expression. It was hard to tell, but it felt like his skin was only getting hotter.

Serna came back, this time with ice packs and something to check Nix's temperature from his forehead.
"How is he feeling?" she asked, setting the ice on him.

"Pretty hot… I dunno if he'd be too happy with us if we put him in an ice bath, though, even if he probably needs one…"

Serna nodded slightly.
"Still, I'd rather him be upset at us then letting him get brain damage…" She held the temperature up to Nix's forehead.

"True…" Cas sighed softly. Nix's temperature was up to almost 104 degrees now. "How exactly would we do that, though? Would we have to strip him naked? I don't think he'd like that very much…"

Serna was very, very concerned with these numbers.
"He'll need to strip to his boxers," she said. She didn't hesitate now, picking Nix up and heading to the laboratory.

"Alrighty… I'll come help." Cas got to his feet and trotted after Serna after he kissed Zachary one more time. Nix was whining softly and stirring in Serna's arms by now.

Serna hurried about, filling a metal tub with an ice bath. She nudged Nix a bit to wake him up when it was ready.
"Nix… nix, sweetie, I need you to do something for me so you can feel better, okay?"

Nix whimpered and opened his eyes, looking up at Serna sleepily. "Mmmmmmm… what…?" He asked, yawning and trembling in the goddess's arms.

"Nix, you're getting too hot right now. I need you to take you're shirt off, okay sweetie?" She set Nix down beside the tub, knowing she was too hot for him.

"Okay…" Nix did as he was told, swaying unsteadily on his feet. Cas stood beside him to keep him upright and to help him strip down to his boxers.

Serna adverted her eyes.
"Now, this is going to feel really cold, but it will help, I promise." She carefully helped Nix into the ice bath, watching carefully to make sure he didn't try to get out.

Nix yelped at the cold, whimpering as he struggled to get away. "Shh, shh… Nix, you gotta get in. Your temperature is too high right now." Cas stopped Nix from getting out. Nix whined and reluctantly allowed Cas to push him into the bath.

"I know, sweetie, it's really cold, but it will help, I promise." Serna kept a close eye on the temperature of both the bath and Nix, watching him carefully.

Nix closed his eyes once he was in the bath, shivering violently. "You're gonna be alright, Nix… we just gotta get your temperature down, okay?" Nix nodded weakly.

Occasionally, Serna had to add more ice.
"Once the fever has broken you can come out," she promised gently.
