"I dunno… I'm not really hungry. I haven't had much of an appetite since yesterday. I wanna make sure Cas eats, though. He's already so thin…"
Serna nodded a bit. It was understandable.
"Do you want to go wake him up for breakfast, then?"
Nix nodded, holding a bit tighter to Serna. He clearly wanted to be carried. "He can't afford to lose more weight."
Serna slid off the bed, holding Nix in one arm. She left her room, heading to Cas's. She knocked gently.
Cas stirred a bit and yawned, but didn't quite wake up. He huddled closer to Zachary with a soft sigh. "He's a pretty deep sleeper…"
Serna nodded, sorely opening the door. She stepped in, going over to gently wake Cas up. Zachary stirred, holding Cas close without yelling his eyes.
Cas whined softly in protest at being woken up, opening his eyes and looking up at Serna sleepily. "Morning, sunshine…" Nix murmured.
"Breakfast is ready," Serna said softly. Zachary opened his eyes slowly, the first thing he did kissing Cas's cheek gently. That was to priority- Cas knowing he was loved.
Cas smiled sleepily and returned the kiss, huddling close. "Mm~… we'll be there in a minute…" He murmured softly. Nix nodded a bit and sighed.
Serna nodded, leaving the room. She moved to the kitchen, setting the pancakes out for everyone. Zachary hummed a bit, nuzzling Cas. He smiled softly.
"Love," he said gently.
"I love you too~" Cas kissed Zachary sweetly and returned the nuzzles. "Wanna go get some breakfast?" He asked.
Zachary nodded. He sat up, an arm pulling Cas up with him. He managed to get his legs over the edge, but he couldn't get himself to the wheelchair, seeing as it was still in the living room.
Cas supported Zachary as well as he could, clearly struggling a bit under his weight, but trying nonetheless. "I-I got you, love…"
Zachary shook his head quickly. No, he didn't want Cas doing this. He motioned with one hand at the living room, already trying to sit back down. It would be be better to get the wheelchair.
"Oh! Right, sorry… you're so smart, love." Cas carefully sat Zachary back down and ran to fetch the wheelchair. He soon returned with it, still pretty disheveled from trying to carry Zachary.
Zachary looked up when Cas came back, forcing himself up to kiss Cas's cheek before also falling into the wheelchair. Still, he was glad he's gotten to kiss Cas. He motioned for Cas to sit down with him, motioning to the wheels. He could try to push them. He wanted Cas to rest a bit, and he needed to practice anyway.
"Are you sure, Zachary? I don't want you to over exert yourself or anything…" Cas hesitated before sitting down in Zachary's lap and kissing him softly.
Zachary kissed Cas in return, nodding. He was sure. He put his hands on the wheels, pushing. He was doing okay, at least, managing to get them out the bedroom door. He grinned, glad to have done this much.
"You're doing great, love. Do you want me to take over now?" He asked softly. "I'm sure it's hard pushing both of us…"
Zachary shook his head, still smiling. He could handle it. He kept pushing them. It took a bit to figure out turning, but he figured it out and managed to get them into the kitchen. He kissed Cas's head, giving him a grin as he hugged Cas. He was getting better with his motor skills.
Cas grinned once they got to the kitchen, kissing Zachary eagerly. "That was fantastic, love! You're doing so well." He hugged him tightly to himself.
Zachary buried his head in Cas's hair, still grinning. Maybe he'd be walking again soon! Serna looked up, smiling a bit.
"Ready for some pancakes, love?" Cas asked softly. Nix was still in Serna's arms, clearly with no interest in eating.
Zachary nodded, bringing the wheelchair up to the table with Cas still on his lap. Serna pushed their two plates over for them, sitting down with Nix. She had a plate for him, but she want going to force him to eat.
Cas helped Zachary eat his pancakes before starting to eat his own, humming softly to himself the entire time. He felt safer away from Halm and was trying his best not to think about the situation. Nix felt almost queasy at the sight of food, and so he just closed his eyes and huddled up against Serna.
Zachary kept his arms around Cas as they are, smiling softly. He felt bad for Cas having to feed him, nuzzling his neck gently as Cas ate his own meal. Serna gently rubbed Nix's back, holding him close as she finished up her own food.
Nix eventually slid out of Serna's lap onto the floor and started tugging on her hand, looking up at her meekly. Cas was too preoccupied with Zachary to really notice.
Serna looked at Nix, confused a moment. She remembered what they talked about that night. She gave a faint smile, standing. Zachary glanced up, but focused back on Cas, kissing his cheek with a smile.
Nix led Serna out of the room, but quickly allowed her to take the lead since he didn't know where he was going. "Where is it?" He asked softly.
"Here, it's back in the bedroom." Serna kept ahold of Nix's have, leading him back. She pulled open a desk drawer, pulling out a laptop and opening it on her desk. She sat down on her bed, easily able to reach.
