Her smile grew and she nodded, clearing her throat and standing. Yes, she could howl sitting, but it felt more natural to stand while doing it, especially when not in her wolf form. She didn't hold back, howling loudly out into the sky without hesitation. Pausing when she finished, she looked at Frankie, smiling again, "How was that? Not as good as I can do in my other form, but not half bad in my opinion."
He sat back and watched as she howled to the stars. Frankie couldn't help but smile softly, finding the sound to be just as beautiful as… He blushed as the thought came to mind even though it was true: she was beautiful. He looked up at her and nodded at her question. ”Not bad at all. Incredible really.” he told her honestly. ”I would love to hear you howl in your wolf form.”
Selina sat back down next to him, nodding as a faint blush covered her cheeks, "I'll howl as a wolf after I hear your howl. I'm curious as to how excellent you are." She propped herself back on her elbows, looking or at him with a growing smile, "And it'll be easier to give you tips as a human." Already she was sure he was excellent, but she wanted an excuse to stay as a human a little longer.
”Fair enough.” he chuckled with a short nod before standing up to take his turn. ”Though I think you might be being generous saying that it'll be excellent.” he added with a faint blush.
Frankie closed his eyes, took a deep breath to calm down and ready himself before letting out a long heartfelt howl of his own. His voice, intermittently, dipping slightly only to climb back up in a way he believed to be similar to that of a wolf’s call before he slowly trailed off, bringing the sound to a gentle end. He opened his eyes and looked back at Selina to hear how he did.
Selina smiled as she listened to his howl. Truthfully, she thought it was amazing, and for someone that she assumed didn't howl on the regular, it was really good. Plus, it gave her the chance to realize just how stunning and handsome Frankie actually was. Her cheeks flushed at the thought, and she quickly glanced away for a moment, looking back at him as he finished howling. "That was really good, I don't even have many pointers," She said, grinning happily at him, "I'm surprised you didn't get some unsuspecting wolf to howl back at you."
He chuckled a little, blushing at the praise. ”Really? It was that good?” he asked, rubbing the back of his neck as he sat down beside her. The idea of having a wolf howl back and respond to him would have been really cool but it hadn’t crossed his mind until she mentioned it. He smiled happily back at her. ”Well, I’m glad it was that convincing… and that you liked it.”
She nodded, bumping him with her shoulder before looking at the sky with a smile, "Of course it was that good, and I would've loved it even if it wasn't." The sliver of the moon shone brightly and with the stars, the sky sparkled a good amount. Selina was in awe by the sight, even after seeing night skies for years. "Well…do you want me to howl as a wolf?"
He chuckled at the playful nudge, strongly tempted to wrap his arm around her shoulders and hold her against his side. But he didn't. He didn't want to make her uncomfortable. His face turned red when she said she would have liked his howl even if it was bad. Frankie had to turn his head away from her for a moment so he wouldn't follow the urge to kiss her. ”Thank you.” he said sincerely. ”Well, I don't want you to get in trouble but… Yeah, I would like to hear that.” he nodded with a soft smile.
"I won't get in trouble if it's not close to my normal howl," She replied, standing with another gentle smile before winking and walking off, returning a minute later in her wolf form. Her clothes were once again held gently in her mouth and she set them next to Frankie carefully before speaking, "Maybe me howling will show you just how similar your howl was to a wolf's howl."
His smile grew at her reassurance and nodded, blushing again at the wink. He looked away briefly so she could change but turned back when he heard her return. ”Maybe.” he agreed softly with a small nod as he was taken back again by how powerful she was as a wolf. ”Either way, I'm sure you're going to blow me away.” he smirked.
Selina huffed out a laugh, blowing a soft stream of air towards Frankie, "Competing with a wolf is unfair, I can't blow you away with an advantage." She stood next to him for a moment, then walked to where she had stood before. This time though, she sat down, taking another moment to focus before letting out a slow howl. It was nothing near her usual howl, but it was just as impressive, especially as she raised the note and held it out before lowering it back down to silence again.
Frankie chuckled as his hair was blown around a little by her laugh. ”Exactly my point.” he agreed with a smile. She was bound to be a natural and therefore much better than he was. He sat back quietly and watched as she practically sang in this form. There was a small difference between her howling as a human compared to now, but he didn't care. ”Beautiful.” he said softly as she finished.
Once again she huffed out a laugh, saying gently, "The one perk of being a werewolf, you can't see how much I'm blushing…but thank you." She stood up once she was done, walking to his side and laying down with a soft sigh. Selina was silent for a minute, finally speaking as she nudged her clothes with her paw, "Well, do you want to stay out here? Or are you itching to head back and sleep?"
”You’re welcome.” he smiled at her. ”Though I wish I could see it right now.” he teased as his own face gained a darker shade of red. He glanced down at the small pile of clothes and shrugged. ”I’m not in a hurry to go. We can stay a little longer if you want.” he told her, gently reaching up to stroke the fur around her shoulders.
She hummed as he ran his hand over her fur, resting her head on his leg gently. "I'm really fine with whatever. It's up to you and how much sleep you want to get back at your camp." Selina looked up at him, pausing for a moment before looking up at the sky and studying the stars once again.
He chuckled, considering himself lucky that she actually liked being pet like this, and shrugged a little. ”Then I guess that depends on if we’re going to try to go to the city tomorrow. I have a couple of errands I need to take care of but we can still spend the day there if you’d like to.” he suggested.
She did her best to nod as she laid next to him, tail wagging slightly, "I think either tomorrow or maybe one more day of wait. Whatever you prefer." As long as she was able to spend time with Frankie, she knew she wouldn't care either way, but letting him decide seemed like the best option.
Frankie's smile grew as her tail thumped softly and continued to pet her. ”Well, tomorrow might be easier.” he admitted, thinking out loud. ”I need to go to the store and get some more food soon, and I should take my clothes to the laundromat.” he sighed. ”But if you would rather wait another day, I think we can make it work.”
"I'll have to report to Alpha, but if we can leave tomorrow, I'm fairly certain," She replied, her eyes closing as she relaxed into the touch. "Though I'm not going to let you leave here if you keep petting me…you'll be stuck on petting duties all night." Her tail didn't stop wagging and if anything it waged a little harder.
Frankie couldn't help but burst out laughing at that remark. ”You… You make that sound like it's supposed to be a threat.” he gasped, regaining his breath. ”Really, it's your own fault for being so adorable in this form. You’re so soft and fluffy.” he grinned before reaching up to gently scratch behind her ear.
Selina let out a soft laugh as well as a playful growl, "It is a threat, I'm far from adorable. I'm a scary wolf…that may or may not have a weakness for physical contact and is very demanding of pets." She practically melted against him as he scratched behind her ear, tail wagging contently. "Mhm…it's decided…you're officially on petting duties…forever."
Frankie chuckled a little with a teasing smirk. ”So, the big bad wolf has a soft spot after all.” he joked. Though he hoped that she wasn't offended by that. He smiled and nodded. ”If you say so, Beta.” he said sincerely, though there was still a hint of playful teasing in his voice as he submitted to her assignment for him. He really didn't mind petting her as long as she wanted… until he was tired at least.
"This big bad wolf's soft spot is no secret," She hummed, an attempt at a smile appearing on her face, "I'm not going to want you to go back to your camp now, you know that right? I'll get you there anyway, but staying here is starting to sound better and better…" Selina knew it was selfish to want to stay and be pampered, but she couldn't help it. She would make it up to him.
He chuckled again and smiled back at her. ”You know you could stay with me at the camp.” he offered. ”For a while at least, and I could pet you until I fall asleep. I know you have to get back to your pack at some point tonight but… I wouldn't mind you staying.” Frankie admitted with a soft blush.
She nodded, replying, "I wasn't sure whether you would want me intruding on your personal space or time any longer, but I wouldn't mind spending more time with you back at your camp. Even if it's only until I have to leave." Selina opened her eyes and glanced up at him, tail wagging again, "It's up to you though."
He smiled kindly back at her, giving her another gentle scratch behind her ear. ”You’re not intruding on anything. I enjoy spending time with you.” Frankie said assuringly. ”Besides personal space isn't really an issue for me. I’m usually a very huggy person with my closest friends and family.” he chuckle, even though he didn't really have that many close friends.
"I have a very loose definition of personal space but I try to respect others unless I have permission to bother them," She replied, humming as she leaned into his hand, "If I have permission though…personal space is close to nonexistent. I like spending time around people, and you count as someone I love to spend time with." Selina knew if they wanted to get back to camp sometime soon they would have to leave soon, otherwise, it would be too dark for Frankie to see much. She really didn't mind the idea of having to bring him back to camp though, and if he was alright with the idea, the safest way would be for him to ride on her back if it got too dark.
He couldn't help but chuckle a little as she admitted liking being around him as well. ”Glad to hear the feeling is mutual.” he said softly and sincerely. ”Well, since you asked… You definitely have my permission. Bother me anytime you want. Heck, you can lay on top of me when we’re sleeping and I won't mind.” Frankie promptly blushed as that last sentence came out. At least, I caught myself before admitting that I would probably hold her closer if she did that…
Selina finally pulled her head up from where it laid on his legs, a playful look in her eyes as she noticed his blush. She pressed her nose against his cheek and then replied in a semi-teasing voice, "Well, you might regret giving me that much room to bother you, but thank you." Thankfully in her wolf form, her blush wasn't visible as she thought about doing just what he had said. Yes, she wouldn't hesitate to do so if she knew that he outright returned her feelings, but at the moment, she wouldn't do so unless she was in her wolf form.
Frankie laughed a little as she… basically booped his cheek, though this time he happily took the opportunity to wrap his arms around her neck in a brief hug. ”You’re welcome, Selina, but I highly doubt that I’ll regret anything.” he promised with a soft smile.
