Phoenix nodded softly, pulling her hand up to his lips. He gently kissed her knuckles, setting both their hands back on the table. The simple touch was already relaxing him. "I love you…"
Phoenix nodded softly, pulling her hand up to his lips. He gently kissed her knuckles, setting both their hands back on the table. The simple touch was already relaxing him. "I love you…"
"I love you too," Cicada replied watching him. She could tell that this was already calming him down and that made her feel a lot better. She wasn't completely useless at the moment.
He watched her quietly, a loving look falling over his face. Phoenix was definitely starting to get distracted by her, none of his anxious thoughts making it very far. He looked like a love-sick school boy.
Cicada watched his face change and resisted the urge to let out a little giggle. He looked so love-sick to the point she was starting to make a similar face. Though it was not quiet as love sick as Phe was.
Phoenix had the softest smile up, admiring her to the fullest extent. How had he only now realized how pretty she really was? At the strangest of times, as well. "You're so beautiful…" He let out in a mumble.
Cicada blushed upon hearing his little mumble. She couldn't help it, with the look in his eyes and then his little mumbles. She glanced down at the table muttering more to herself, "I'm really not."
"I think you are…" Phoenix whispered, reaching across the table with a gentle smile. He gently lifted her chin, wanting to keep looking at her. "Doesn't that count for something?"
"Yeah, it counts for something," Cicada replied looking over at him. She was quiet as some of her old scars on her arms began to tingle, just to remind her that in this peaceful moment they still existed. A physical reminder of the monster she could be. Eventually she found her voice again, "It counts for quite a bit."
"Mmm, good. I want you to know I love you- all of you." He whispered, leaning across the table to kiss her. Phoenix smiled softly, sitting back down when he had kissed her. "Every little detail is worth something to me."
Cicada's blush only seemed to grow at his actions and his words. Along with her blush the tingle of her scars grew as well. She managed a little smile before she forced it into a smirk as she decided to maybe test him, "Mmm, even all of my scars? The ones from burns and the others I have? The tattoo on my bicep that covers the worse of them?"
"Of course, Cicada. Though I've not really seen them, they're important to me." Phoenix replied rather quickly, but didn't seem rushed. There was no hesitation in his voice, clearly showing he truly believed that. "All of your curves, and all of your scars."
Cicada didn't know why, but she wanted to cry hearing that. Or at least it felt like it. Her smile became more natural as she kept looking at him studying all his little details on his face that she could see, "I… I want you to know I love all of you too. Your anxiety and your cute little freckles. All of it."
Phoenix felt his face heat up at that, but never turned his head away. He smiled a little more, giving him a more childish look. "Aww, you're too sweet." He hummed a bit, kissing her knuckles once again.
"I'm not really," Cicada replied her smile growing soft once more. She had to resist laughing seeing his childish look and only let out a single laugh, "But you're adorable. And I hope you know that."
"Mmm, if you say so." Phoenix chuckled a little, lips still pressed to her hand. His mood had changed dramatically in the last five minutes, which was definitely at least a little surprising. Eventually he pulled away from her, sighing softly. "I love you…"
"I love you too," Cicada laughed ever so slightly. She was glad to see that he was doing better than earlier even if it did seem to be just him repeating about how he loved her, "I think the waiters coming back."
Phoenix's mind had gone blank, him clearly not having heard her. Yet he was so focused on her, it was a bit of a surprise. Though slowly his brain processed her words and he snapped out of it. "O-Oh, right." He mumbled, tearing his gaze off of her.
"Hey, you were fine earlier. We were fine," Cicada replied with a little smile still holding his hand. She was just giving him a bit of a warning hoping he wouldn't go back to earlier, "I was just trying to warn you."
Phoenix nodded a little, his cheeks growing red. He sighed softly before preparing himself for the waiter. "Alright, I'll be fine. Thank you." He whispered softly, looking up at her.
"You're welcome," Cicada replied with a smile seeing the waiter with their drinks. She looked over at Phoenix and asked him calmly, "Are you ready to order or do you need more time? Or I can do it for you."
"Umm… I-I hate to sound like a kid, but could you do it?" Phoenix asked softly, turning his gaze back down on the table. He only nodded softly to the waiter, accepting his drink when given to him. He silently sipped from the straw, starting to chew on the end.
"Of course," Cicada gave him a smile back. Of course she didn't know which burger he wanted, but she figured she could guess it out. She had a slight smile on as she ordered burgers for the two of them getting the waiter out of there hair.
Phoenix let her order, not really sure which burger he was going to order for himself anyways. But what she did order sounded pretty good. So he trusted her. "Thanks…" He mumbled a little, looking up at her.
"You're welcome," Cicada replied with a smile on looking back at him. She pulled his hand and kissed his knuckles softly, "Did I order what you want? Or at least got kind of close?"
"I-I honestly don't really know what I was planning on getting. A burger, yes, but what kind I have no clue." Phoenix laughed weakly, smiling softly when she kissed him. "But it sounds good, so I think you did good."
Cicada smiled happily as she heard what he said. So she didn't completely screw up, good. She nodded a little, "I'm glad. It kind of was my second choice, so I figured you might like it."
"Mm, well I think you might be right. It really does sound pretty good." Phoenix mumbled, sipping from his water. He glanced up at her, giving a gentle smile. "Thank you, honestly."
"Again, you're welcome," Cicada replied watching him with a soft smile in return. She tapped her hand on the table trying to think of something to talk about, "I honestly don't mind doing things like that for you."
"I just feel bad… I'm perfectly capable in doing things like that. I'm just pathetic." Phoenix mumbled, not really seeming to have the right tone for his down talk on himself. He sounded more annoyed than anything else, letting out a slight huff.
"I know you are," Cicada replied hearing Pheonix talk himself down. Except he sounded more annoyed, but it was talking himself down none the less, "It's just the situation we're in at the moment."
