this made me laugh because once my grandma was wearing sunglasses and a lens was missing and she didn't know and long story short that was how 9-year-old Ash learned that my grandma's blind in one eye

I know I've already done three, so you don't have to add this to the character.
But I was thinking messy, unkempt, chin length hair parted in the middle.
Since there aren't too many characters with long hair. (not that chin length is all that long)
