Gabe started to shake a little. He was dead. He was dead, and that was it. He sunk to his knees as well. He couldn't hug but hug Alex close.
"You… Alex, you have to run. Please, Alex, you need to get to the house. You can't get caught here."
Alex flinched, shaking his head and trembling. "I…I'm sorry…I'm sorry…"
It took Gabe a moment to realize why Alex had flinched. He was a ghost. Alex… Couldn't handle him. Gabe pulled away, close to tears.
"Alex, it wasn't your fault. You tried to stop me. But you have to run! You have to get away, before someone finds you! Alex, I-I can't let you go back there. You have to get away!"
Alex stared up at him for a moment, tears tracking down his cheeks. Then he sniffled, grabbed the picnic basket, and left, half stumbling.
Gabe followed behind Alex at a distance. He knew… He knew he probably would never be able to talk to Alex again. Still, he was going to watch over him. He was… He was going to keep him safe, even now.
Alex made it back to the house, going inside and barring the door. Then he collapsed onto the bed, sobbing.
Gabe tried to go into the apartment, but hissed to himself. The salt hurt. So, he leaned against the door, sliding down. He started crying softly. He was dead, and- and he could never be with Alex again.
I killed him. Alex curled into himself, sobbing. He had killed a man that…that he had been coming to love.
Gabe wiped at his tears. He'd never get to hold Alex again, or kiss him, out give him a smile when he needed one. It was… It was like Alex had died to Gabe. They were seperated now, and… There was nothing they could do.
At least Henry hadn't followed them.
(eat your words, Gabe :P)
There was a dry laugh from near him. "Believe me now that he's sick and messed up?" Henry had indeed followed, his face twisted in a sardonic smile.
Gabe's head shot up. He growled.
"Says the one who said he was insane for thinking he could see ghosts." Gabe stood, won't his tears away.
Henry laughed a little bit. "He is." he replied. "He's just also a murderer, now."
"There's a difference between me… me not realizing what as going on, and getting stabbed." Gabe scowled a bit.
"All that happened was the death of a murderer and an asshole."
(Gabe took "Be Gay do Crime" a little too seriously)
Henry snorted. "Yes, thank you for the reminder." he replied sarcastically. "And the fact remains, he's a murderer. You both are. What a pretty little pair of sodomites you make."
Gabe growled, launching himself at Henry and grabbing his shirt.
"Hadn't you dated him before? Having a family didn't make you any less of a Sodomite before, and it doesn't now that you're dead either."
(yes XD)
"Dated him?" Henry snorted, looking at Gabe with a sneer curling his lip. "It hardly counts, considering it only happened because he poisoned my mind and turned me into something I never wanted to be."
"Doesn't change the facts. Besides, you obviously wanted to if you were making out with him. You honestly expect me to believe Alex was able of convince you of jack shit?"
"He twisted my mind. It isn't my fault, and I certainly shouldn't have wanted it. I have a wife and a child. I'm not a sodomite."
"That doesn't mean fucking shit to me. You fucked with a man, your a sodomite. Forever." Gabe spat a little to the side.
Henry snorted. "That's not how it works. I repented. The lord has forgiven me for my sins."
"Oh, really? You think God still exists? How do you explain this then?" He motioned around with one hand at their situation.
Henry frowned a little. "Purgatory." he replied decisively.
"Oh really? You're one of those catholics." Gabe growled the word out. "You think your family will pay for your ticket to heaven."
"Not pay. Pray for me. For my soul." Henry replied, tipping his head slightly.
"If so, then why am I here? I killed you, shouldn't I be rotting in hell by now?" Gabe raised an eyebrow.
"Perhaps the lord wants to give you a chance. I don't know." Henry replied, shrugging.
"That's not what the Bible says about murderers." Gabe scowled, pulling away.
"Who am I to question the lord's choices? If he wants to give you a chance…well."
Gabe gave a cold laugh.
"Anything to cling to your religion."
Henry rolled his eyes. "I wouldn't expect you to understand."
