"Okay then. I'm sure she'll enjoy meeting you." He kissed Nix's head again, glad he had calmed down. He leaned back a little, looking down at Nix.
"Okay then. I'm sure she'll enjoy meeting you." He kissed Nix's head again, glad he had calmed down. He leaned back a little, looking down at Nix.
"When should we go see her?" Nix asked. "I don't know if it's safe to leave Cas here right now… it's there any way she can come here instead?"
"I can try to contact her. Perhaps she should come over while Cas is still asleep…" Halm sat up a bit more, thinking.
Nix nodded again. "Alright… how can you contact her?" He asked curiously, looking up at Halm from where he was.
"Well… Normally, I would ask Aiko to go talk to her for me," Halm admitted. "But… I'm not sure right now."
"Mm… what's the best way to send a message down here, then? Do you want me to stay here while you go get her?"
"I'll probably get Gloria to do it," Halm finally said. "She should be able to handle it."
"Alright. Where's Gloria?" Nix asked, huddling close to Halm's side.
"I believe she's still in the drawer in my room," Halm said. He rubbed Nix's head a little again, keeping still for now.
Nix nodded and leaned into Halm's touch with a soft sigh. "How is she supposed to know how to get there, though?"
"I'll be able to guide her from here, give her directions. She'll be able to make it." Halm let out a soft breath. His life has gone from almost complete isolation, to a house full of people to quickly.
"Alright, if you say so… should we have her go do that now?" He asked, nuzzling up against Halm's chest affectionately.
"Yes, I think that would be best." Halm stood, holding Nix in his arms, and made his way to the bedroom. He opened the drawer, pulling Gloria out
Nix looked down at the soul curiously, flicking one ear. He stayed silent for now, figuring it would be best to let Halm do the talking.
Gloria looked up at Halm, confused.
"I need you to take a message to another god for me." Gloria's eyes widened a little.
"I have no idea how I'm going to get anywhere, but sure, go ahead."
"We need her to come here so we can talk to her… um… what was her name?" Nix asked, looking up at Halm.
"Her name is Serna. She would most likely bring you back with her when she comes." Gloria looked up between Nix and Halm.
"But how would I be getting there in the first place? I can't exactly get anywhere when I'm this size."
"Actually, you can. Here-" Halm reached out, touching Gloria's forehead. In a moment, Gloria has curred up into a ball, like the ones they had been harvesting earlier. Unlike those, however, she was floating.
"Uh… how is that supposed to help?" Nix asked, looking at Gloria curiously as he tapped her with one finger.
Gloria gently bobbed when Nix tapped her.
"She can travel very quickly now," Halm explained. He carried Nix and Gloria out of the house, standing close to the door.
"Head in that direction," Halm instructed Gloria. "I'll be able to help you if you get lost." With that, he sent Gloria on her way. She hesitated a moment, then took off.
"Alright… we should head back to Cas now. I think he's doing something…" Nix rubbed at his arms uneasily. "He must have woken up."
Halm nodded.
"Yes, let's." He headed back inside, costing the door carefully behind him. He carried Nix back to Cas's bedroom, quietly opening the door.
Cas was awake by the time they came back in and seemed to be scratching at his forearms while he sobbed quietly. "Cas, stop!" Nix jumped out of Halm's arms to go over and try to stop Cas.
Halm hurried towards Cas, he took Cas's hands in his own, looking down at his arms to see just how badly he was hurt.
"We're right here, Cas," Halm said quietly.
Cas didn't seem to have had enough time to do a ton of damage, but he was noticeably bleeding. "Shhh… you're alright…" Nix whispered, gently running his fingers through Cas's hair. Cas's cried softly, not even trying to pull away from Halm.
Halm carefully let go of one of Cas's hands. He reached out, already going to heal Cas.
"Everything will be okay, Cas. We're here for you."
Cas whimpered weakly, but otherwise didn't reply. Nix sighed and curled up against him, holding him close up himself.
Halm wrapped his arms around Cas and Nix both. He held them gently, his hands going back to Cas's.
Nix looked up at Halm with a defeated expression. Cas's hands trembled violently in Halm's and he didn't seem to be relaxing very much.
Halm looked defeated as well. He held Cas gently.
"You're safe, Cas," he said. He just wanted Cas to be okay.
"H-How do you know? Zachary's fucked up somehow and there's nothing any of us can do about it." Cas sobbed quietly into Nix's chest.
