"G-Go away!" Cas called out, clinging to Zachary for dear life. He started shaking more violently and seemed very nervous.
Nix looked up at Halm, unsure what to do, but clearly very worried.

Halm took a shaky step back as he realized just why Cas was so terrified.
"He heard us…" He blanched. Oh fuck.
Zachary tucked Cas away, keeping him so close.
"They won't come in," he promised gently.

Nix paled as well, gripping Halm tightly. Well, shit. "We should probably go…" He whispered to Halm.
Cas hiccuped a bit and buried his face in Zachary's chest again, shaking violently.

Halm nodded, unable to speak. He stepped away, back to his own bedroom. He closed the door, holding Nix close.
"They're gone, they can't hurt you," Zachary said quietly. He held Cas tight to himself, never letting go.

"He's terrified of us now… he must think we're monsters…" Nix sighed shakily as he huddled up with Halm. "How much do you think he heard?"
Cas tried to stifle his sobs as he crumbled in Zachary's arms. "I'm s… s-scared…" He whispered weakly.

Halm shook his head a little, tears pricking in his eyes.
"I-I don't kn-now. H-he'ss so scared… Nix, h-he…"
Zachary put his head down, supporting Cas in his arms.
"We can leave," he said quietly. "We… We can leave the house, make our own. Far, far away from them…"

Nix buried his face in Halm's chest, sighing shakily. "If he heard… h-he must… he probably thinks I ate the guy. He's probably horrified…"
Cas nodded, rubbing at his teary eyes with one small fist. "H-How can we?" He asked shakily. "I don't know how to build…"

"I-I…" Halm wrapped his arms tightly around Nix, unable to keep from crying softly.
"We fucked up. We fucked up, a-and now…"
"I… I can make something. Anything. M-my powers aren't strong, not compared to others, B-But… I don't want to to have to live in this house with them." Zachary almost spat out there word. He hated them. How dare they do this to Cas.

"What are we supposed to do?" Nix whispered, burying his face in Halm's chest. "I don't think he'll forgive us for this…"
Cas nodded again, hiccuping weakly. "O-Okay… where… where would we do it? H… H-How would they not know where we were?"

"I-I don't know. I can't… I can't fix this…" Halm continued to cry, holding Nix to himself.
"The… The underworld is huge. He won't… He w won't be able to search it all, and… And we could move around. I just, I can't let you stay here with them, Cas…"

"You could erase their memories?" Nix suggested weakly as he looked up at Halm. "We don't really have many options…"
"R-Right… I'm just… I'm worried that he would find us and be mad at us for running…"

"I… It feels wrong, Nix." Halm was in a lot of distress over this now.
"I won't ever let him find us. I'd rather die then let him find you." Zachary wrapped himself around Cas, keeping him close.

"What are we supposed to do, then? They're not going to forgive us for this. We can't just sweep it under the rug if they still remember."
"B-But if you died, they'd kill me too! There wouldn't be anyone else to protect me…" Cas replied weakly.

"I dont… I don't know!" Halm let out a sob. Everything was falling apart.
"Then we'll never let them find us. I'll… I'm going to keep you safe, Cas."

Nix huddled closer to Halm, unsure what to do. "I just… Cas is going to be terrified of us now."
Cas nodded weakly, wrapping his arms tightly around Zachary's neck. "O-Okay… if you say so…"

"I-I kn-noe, and I can't, can't, I don't-" Halm was terrified too.

"We should leave now," Zachary said gently. "Before they try to come and… and take these memories away. To fuck with our minds…"

"What are we supposed to do, master?" Nix asked weakly, turning his ears back.
Cas nodded, holding tighter to Zachary so he could be carried more easily. "Y-Yeah, I… let's go…"

Halm was silent a moment.
"We have to take their memories," he finally admitted. He held tightly to Nix, standing.
Zachary nodded. He picked Cas up, holding tightly to the other. He stepped out of the room, just as Halm was opening his door.

(So, two ways this could happen. Zachary and Cas escape, or Halm catches them. If that happens, maybe we see what happens when memory changes go wrong with Zachary?)

Cas heard the other door open and froze. "…Run." He whispered to Zachary, clinging tightly to the other.
"How much are you going to take?" Nix asked softly to Halm. "Like, how far back?"

"To before they decided to leave the room. That should be safe." Halm opened the door completely, and Zachary took off running.
"No, stop!" Halm took after them. Unfortunately, he was much bigger, and much faster. He would eventually catch them.

Cas cried out with fear and buried his face in Zachary's chest, shaking with terror. He knew that Halm would be able to catch them, and he was panicking at this point.
Nix yelped as Halm started running, clinging to him so that he wouldn't fall.

Halm held Nix tightly to himself, already starting to catch up. Zachary clung to Cas, holding him so close.
"Leave us alone!" he screamed, tears streaming down his face. Halm ignored the cry, eventually able reach out and catch Zachary by the collar, jolting them to a halt.

Cas screamed as he clung to Zachary, sobbing helplessly and shaking violently. "Let go! S-Stop!" He started hyperventilating and panicking, completely and utterly terrified.

Zachary curled himself around Cas, still trying to protect him from Halm.
"I'm not going to hurt you," Halm insisted. He set Nix down in favor of picking Zachary and Cas up. Zachary was already struggling, trying to get away.

"Don't touch me! N-No!" Cas struggled as well, sobbing into Zachary's shoulder. "L-Let us go!" Nix wasn't sure how to feel. Cas's distress was upsetting to him, obviously, but this was their only option.

Halm held the two tightly to himself, not letting them go.
"Enough!" He snapped. "Sleep!" Zachary immediately fell unconscious from the force of Halm's command. It was the first time he had ever forced then to do something with this much force. It couldn't be good for their mental state, Halm realized, but it was too late.
"I need to get them back to the house," he mumbled to Nix, still crying as he turned.

Cas immediately passed out as well, one more tear rolling down his pale cheeks. Nix flitted around Halm nervously, his own eyes stinging with tears as well.

Halm held both Cas and Zachary gently, bringing them into the house. He lightly say their unconscious bodies on the bed.
"I… I can't completely take this away. It's had too much of an impact on them. All I can do is… Change what these emotions are directed to," he admitted quietly to Nix.

Nix sighed shakily and nodded. "Alright… what are you going to change it to?" He asked, sitting down on the bed beside Cas. "They're both so upset with us…"

"A nightmare. It's… It's what I have to do. Cas would have been having a nightmare, which woke Zachary up. It's… It's tricky, to have him start awake, but it's the most likely thing to have happened. We came in when I felt how distressed they were, and we've been working to help." Halm took a heavy breath.
