“Sorry.” Lysander winced at the bump and resulting sound. He was driving very carefully to give her a smooth, calming ride… but sometimes things like that sneak in.

"It's Okay " she said

Lysander nodded a little and let out a slow breath as he continued to drive, with even more caution.

" Ly its alright my love " She said

He glanced over and gave her a soft smile before he saw that her eyes were still closed. He almost chuckled at himself for that, instead he simply reached over and held her hand gently.

Lysander let out an easy breath at her response and gave her a loving gentle squeeze as he was able to relax more.

Lysander smiled and lifted her hand, placing a quick kiss on her knuckles.

He smiled back, even though her eyes were closed, and let their hands hang between the seats though he didn't let go yet.

She gripped his hand a bit tighter

They pulled into the driveway and Betty saw alot move cars and Betty knew her friends and family were here

Lysander smiled a little when he saw Betty noticed the crowd. “So much for the surprise. They didn't hide the cars very well.” he commented as he parked.

" why is everyone here?" Dhe asked

“It’s a welcome home party for you.” Lysander said as he got out of the car.

" but I cant even stand up" she said

“No one is going to expect you to stand.” he assured her as he got her wheelchair out. “This party is for you… but if you want I can tell everyone that now’s not a good time.”

" No everyone is already here" she said

Lysander nodded a little. “Yeah. And almost everyone brought us something. Mostly foods so we don't have to cook much and a few things for the kids too.” he told her, opening her door.

She smiled "are you sure you can pick me up again " she said

He smiled at her. “It’s only for a few seconds, darling. Besides, I know better than to use my legs to lift anything.” he chuckled.

She sighed,"Okay "

Lysander carefully scooped Betty out of the car and spun her around once before setting her down in her chair.

She giggled softly

Lysander smiled and kissed her cheek. “I love your laugh. Have I told that recently?”

"Not in a few months" she said

“I’ll have to fix that.” he smiled lovingly, kissing her cheek again.
