Lila followed after Faye. She turned to Dax, "I'm sorry about what I said. I needed to be convincing. Do you guys want to go back to my hideout?"

Dax silently nodded, silently wishing he could've been a Sunai himself.

Calla looked down at her arm, imagining 18 little marks. "I know. I should probably feed more. It's hard to reap souls. I'm blind, I can't tell if they're still there or not." even though she couldn't see the sinner's red hue, she could hear a slight buzz coming from them.

Ronan frowned softly and nodded. “Alright. How about you go out with me when I feed?” He offered, letting go of Calla’s arm.

"That would be nice." Calla reached out to touch his nose, make sure he was still there. "Why are you doing this for me?"

(She could be there and jump into the conversation?)

Ronan chuckled when Calla touched his nose and his expression softened. “Us Sunai have to stick together, yeah? We’re family,” he said, though he wasn’t completely sure on the meaning of family.

"Family. Does that mean that I'm the daughter or younger sister? Are you the husband or older brother? Is Avi the wife then? It's not really that type of family, is it?" Calla pulled her knees up to her chin, muttering to herself. "Blood of the covenant is thicker than the water of the womb. Do you know what that means, big brother?"

“Is she- what?” Ronan said, brow furrowing as he shook his head quickly. “No, I consider any Sunai to be a sibling of mine. And no, I don’t. Mind telling me?”

"Chosen friends are closer than given family. Meaning that they're like a chosen family." Calla smiled at him, "That's what we are now. A chosen family. Do you like that, big brother? I like it."

Faye gave a nod to Lila at the offer, but then thought of something else. “What I’d we did try to get in contact with Karina and Calixo?” She spoke up, looking at Dax and Lila.

Ronan’s smile grew warm when Calla smiled. The young Sunai seemed to be indifferent most of the time, so he loved seeing her with a smile. “I love that, it’s a wonderful way to look at all of this.”

Avi slipped in, leaning on the door and smiling at the pair. A chosen family. That sounded nice.

"I think so too." Calla leaned in, touching his shoulder tentatively to figure out where he was, before wrapping her arms around him in a hug.

Ronan returned the embrace, hugging Calla close to him. He pressed a kiss to the top of her head before letting go a moment later. He looked over his shoulder at Avi, giving a polite smile. He stood from his crouch, going to his full height. “I don’t believe we were formally introduced. I’m Ronan.”

Calla reached up to touch the spot where Ronan had kissed her head and smiled before curling up on the cot and imagining the color orange.

“I’m Avi,” she said, holding out her hand.

Ronan reached out, shaking Avi’s hand. “Good to meet you. How long have you been around?” He questioned in a curious manner, still surprised as to how he didn’t notice another Sunai in the area.

Calixto stared half-lidded at his empty plate. She was right. It was a damn good breakfast. Well at least as good as normal food could be. He always ended up thinking of the sweet taste of human blood. As if the thought triggered the same thought for Karina, she picked up one of the sharper knives, grimacing as she prepared for the sting of the blade. Jumping over to her, Calixto tried to wrestle the knife out of her grasp. Being stubborn as usual, she argued about wanting to do this as another apology. About to protest again, the two fell over onto the tiled floor, knife stabbing Karina in the arm.
"Ha, now you have to take my gift," she said, ignoring the pain and boasting in victory.
"Yeah, yeah. Just put put it in a glass or somethin, I am not licking it off your arm."

Calla watched the two socialize, wondering if Sunai's could fall in love. Maybe Avi and Ronan could get married and she could live in a big house with a HUGE teddy-bear like she'd seen before. For only an hour, Calla had crept into the North Sector, and watched a family who had a cute little daughter with rosy cheeks and bright eyes. She'd had a HUGE teddy-bear and she had two parents who were married.

“Not long. A few months,” she shrugged.

I’m just imagining that if avi and Rona don’t get a romance arc, they’d still fake getting married for calla anywahs

"Then lets go ask them," Lila told Faye, "Do you remember the way?"

(Omg I wish but Ronan is 19 and I think Avi is 15 so I don’t know how that’d go lmao)

Faye gave a nod, walking in the direction to leave the Square. She walked back to her neighbor hood glancing at the house where the Sunai’s had killed for a moment before walking to the next house over, remembering Karina had said they lived next door. She walked up the front steps and knocked. She felt anxious. What if they weren’t like the group? What if they called the patrol on them?

Ronan have a slow nod and a slight smile. “I understand.. and you play?” He asked. He had seen the instrument Avi had held, but he wanted to hear about it from her. He was fond of the way most Sunai described their instruments. It was quite beautiful. He could go on and on about his violin.
