"Yeah… I haven't heard any suspicious crashes in the other room." Cas hummed thoughtfully.
"Mhmm. I feel nice." Nix purred at the petting and nuzzled against Halm. "Did you sleep at all?"
"Yeah… I haven't heard any suspicious crashes in the other room." Cas hummed thoughtfully.
"Mhmm. I feel nice." Nix purred at the petting and nuzzled against Halm. "Did you sleep at all?"
"Hopefully, Nix won't say anything that'll send him off." Zachary sighed softly. "I'm not sure we'd be able to do anything to help."
"Just as little," Halm admitted. He shrugged.
"I slept well last night, at least." He smiled at the nuzzling, leaning back against the headboard.
"Right. And Nix still just doesn't understand, and he might not realize what he did wrong."
"Mm… I tend to sleep on and off through the day. I guess it's a cat thing." Nix curled his tail up a bit.
Zachary nodded, biting his lip.
"It would be bad. Honestly, I'm sure if he doesn't mention souls he'll be fine."
"I guess so," Halm said with a chuckle. "So long as you don't end up walking me up in the middle of the night because you're not tired." Halm laughed lightly, scratching Nix's head.
"Well, Nix doesn't understand much about souls, so I doubt he'll bring it up."
"Well, that might happen once or twice." Nix laughed. "But only if I get particularly bored. I'll try to leave you alone."
"Thanks good." Zachary kissed Cas's head again. "I don't want anyone to get hurt."
"Alright then. So long as it's not often." Halm laughed a little, patting Nix's head.
"Sometimes I kinda just need attention, so…" Nix leaned into Halm's hand, purring contentedly as he huddled close.
Halm wrapped both arms around Nix now, smiling gently.
"And I'll be happy to give it to you, then," he said. "So long as I get a chance to sleep too."
"Mhmm~…" Nix nuzzled against Halm again, his tail swaying. "How come you've got a bunch of dresses in your closet anyway?" He asked curiously. "They're obviously not your size."
Halm froze a moment, pressing his lips together.
"They belonged to an old… Friend. She died a while ago…"
Nix nodded a bit, humming curiously. "Was she nice?" He asked, nuzzling up against Halm again. "I don't see a lot of women. Cas only brought boys home."
"She was," Halm said quietly. He was still hurt from what she had said to him. Of course he was. He had thought… He had thought she still loved him, just as he did her.
"She'd like you. I'm sure." Aiko said nothing. She was probably asleep already.
Nix nodded again. "What happened to her soul?" He asked curiously. "Did she get reincarnated as somebody else?"
(I'm totally not trying to piss Halm off)
(you're a horrible person, I love that XD)
Halm closed his eyes a moment. Nix didn't know that this upset him, he had to stay gentle.
"She didn't want to get reincarnated, or get a new body." He pointed to Aiko between his horns.
"So, she decided she'd stay here. To still help me when she's needed."
"Oh, okay." Nix looked up at the soul, cocking his head to the side a bit with curiosity. "Is she listening to us…? Or is she kinda just there?" He asked.
"She's- asleep right now." Halm gritted his teeth, trying to keep calm. Nix was getting into dangerous territory to be talking about.
Nix nodded, clearly oblivious to Halm's anger. "Why does she stay there instead of with other souls? Is it because she's special to you?" He asked.
"She- is," Halm said, teeth still gritted.
"Can we please not talk about her anymore?" He asked, don't his very best not to snap at Nix at this point.
Nix looked up at Halm's face and paled at his angry expression, turning his ears back. "S-Sorry, sir…" He whispered softly, looking away.
Halm closed his eyes a moment, taking a deep breath. He slowly unclenched his jaw, opening his eyes. He reached up, carefully cupping Nix's head.
"I'm sorry," he said, still calming down. "There was no way you could have known."
Nix nodded, the corners of his eyes stinging with tears. "I-I didn't mean to upset you, master…" He replied quietly, keeping his ears flattened back against his head. He curled his tail around himself and cowered a bit, looking up at Halm meekly.
That, seeing Nix in this state, hearing Nix call him master… Halm bit his lip, rubbing Nix's cheek gently.
"I'm sorry," he said quietly, "I'm so sorry for scaring you. Please, please, you don't… You don't have to call me master, Nix."
Nix closed his eyes and nuzzled into Halm's hand weakly, biting his trembling lip a bit. "I should have noticed you were upset… I'm sorry for pushing you."
"And I should have been able tip tell you I didn't want to talk about her before I snapped at you. I'm so sorry…" Halm leaned down to gently kiss Nix's forehead, holding him close.
Nix buried his face in Halm's chest, huddling close to him. He was trembling lightly, but was still trying his best to keep quiet and not cry.
Halm wrapped his arms tightly around Nix.
"You're not in trouble," he said softly. "You're okay. I'm so sorry…" he gently rubbed Nix's back.
(Could you also tell everyone on Discord that I cant be on for two days cause I'm grounded? If you want to)
(Technically not supposed to be here either…)
(Yeah, of course ^^)
Nix nodded weakly, curling up a bit as he clung to Halm. "I d… d-don't wanna upset you, master…" He whispered shakily.
(Hunnnn sneaking on is fun)
"And I don't want to ever scare you like this again." Halm didn't bother telling Nix not to call him master again. He held Nix tightly to himself.
"I'm not going to ever let this get like this again, okay?"
(Lmao)
Nix nodded again and huddled closer, his tail still puffed up with fear. "I'm sorry…" He whispered again.
