"What other puzzles are there?" Cas asked, resting his head against Zachary's shoulder with a happy hum.

@ElderGodSwimwithGamers group

"Well, there are lots," Zachary said. "You wanna go pick it some more? We can grab several so we don't have to keep going back and forth." Zachary reached up, rubbing Cas's head with a smile.

@Fraust

"Mmkay." Cas leaned into Zachary's hand, smiling softly. He got up out of his chair and took Zachary's hand, heading back into Halm's room to look for puzzles.

Zachary came with Cas to the other bedroom, smiling. He knelt down, pulling the other puzzles back out and started sorting through them to get the fifty counts all out. He looked up at Cas a moment.
"How many do you want to take?" He asked.

@Fraust

"Hmm… I dunno." Cas rooted through the puzzles to find ones with pictures he liked. He grabbed one with a sunset over a mountain range and examined it curiously.

@Fraust

Cas avoided any puzzles that had pictures of water. He didn't want to think about water. He found another nice puzzle with a picture of birds on it.

@Fraust

"Mhmm!" Cas found another one with a picture of a rainforest and a leopard. "You can pick some too, you know."

@Fraust

Cas stuck his tongue out playfully and kept rooting through the puzzles. "I think this is enough for now…"

@ElderGodSwimwithGamers group

"Alright then!" Zachary gathered up the puzzles they had chosen, pushing the others back under the bed. He stood, offering one hand to Cas.
"I'm glad you enjoy this," Zachary said with a smile.

@ElderGodSwimwithGamers group

Zachary grinned as well. He set the boxes down on the table next to the first puzzle, humming a little.
"Which first?" He asked.
Halm looked up when he once again heard Cas and Zachary come out and then go back to their room, then looked down at Nix again.
"How are you doing?" He asked gently.

@Fraust

"Um… let's do the bird one." Cas set the puzzle on the table and lifted off the lid to look at the pieces.
Nix was very quiet at this point. He glanced up at Halm weakly when he was addressed. "Somewhat better, I guess, but still not great…"

@ElderGodSwimwithGamers group

Zachary nodded.
"Good choice," he said. He sat next to Cas, setting the pieces out again.
Halm nodded, sighing softly. He rubbed Nix's head gently, holding him close.
"I'm sorry," he said again gently.

@Fraust

Cas grabbed a random piece and started looking around for a piece that would fit together with it, humming happily to himself.
Nix nuzzled against Halm weakly. "I shouldn't be so worked up about this…" He whispered.

@ElderGodSwimwithGamers group

Zachary smiled.
"You wanna try a trick?" He asked. "It might go faster."
"You have every right to be," Halm said softly. He held Nix a little closer, leaning down to kiss his forehead.

@Fraust

"Why would we want it to go faster, though? It's more fun to spend the time together." Cas smiled softly as he kept looking.
Nix hiccuped weakly, keeping his eyes closed. "Maybe so, but I shouldn't still be sulking from this…"

@ElderGodSwimwithGamers group

"This is true," Zachary said, chuckling softly. He closed his eyes a moment, gently leaning his head against Cas a moment.
Halm shook his head slowly.
"It's okay to be," Halm said gently. "It's how you feel, and it's okay to feel that way."

@Fraust

Cas eventually found a piece that matched up with the one he was holding and smiled, sticking them together and putting them down on the table.
"I'm not supposed to really have feelings, though… I'm supposed to help Cas with his and keep quiet about it."

@ElderGodSwimwithGamers group

Zachary smiled, opening his eyes. Picking up a piece of the puzzle, he examined it a moment before setting it down and connecting it to Cas's two.
"That's not true," Halm said, gently but firmly. "Nix, to suppress your feelings, even more so now that your human in form, it's not healthy. You'll develop problems, just like Cas did. I don't want that for you…"

@Fraust

Cas kept building onto his little cluster, seeming pleased with himself. Even something as simple as successfully finding a piece made him feel accomplished, which was good for his self esteem.
"But I'm not important… Cas is the most important. It's my job to help him." Nix sighed, burying his face in Halm's chest.

@ElderGodSwimwithGamers group

Zachary smiled each time Cas added a piece to the ever growing cluster. He helped as well, just a piece here or there. He loved seeing how happy finding a place to put a puzzle piece made Cas. He rubbed Cas's back a little, humming softly.
"You're important to me, Nix." Halm spoke these words quietly, tucking Nix away in his arms. "And I don't want you to ever forget that. You're important. It might be your job to help Cas, but it's my job to help both of you, and I… I can't just sit back and see you treat yourself like this."

@Fraust

Cas smiled as he continued, placing pieces more easily when he had a decent sized cluster. He stuck his tongue out slightly as he concentrated.
"B-But I'm just a cat… my feelings aren't important… it doesn't matter if I'm upset…" Nix sighed shakily.

@ElderGodSwimwithGamers group

Zachary leaned his head against Cas again, occasionally helping but mostly letting Cas have the satisfaction of doing it himself.
"You're doing amazing," he mumbled, letting Cas concentrate.
"You're not just a cat. You weren't even before you came here. Cas cares about you too, Nix, even… Even if he doesn't always show it. It matters, so, so much if you're upset. Cas and I, neither of us want you to feel like this. How would Cas feel if he found out you were hurting yourself for him?" Halm cupped Nix's head, keeping him close.

@Fraust

Cas grinned at the praise and kept going, not really seeming to notice that Zachary wasn't actually helping. He was too engrossed in the process of doing it himself.
Fresh tears pooled in Nix's eyes and rolled down his flushed cheeks as he looked up at Halm weakly. "I d-don't want him to worry about me… he should be more concerned with himself. Even if I'm suffering, he doesn't need to know…"

@ElderGodSwimwithGamers group

Zachary placed one last piece. There were only a couple more now, and it would be good for Cas to be able to put them down himself.
"You're really good at this," Zachary said, grinning. "Like you've been doing it for a long time."
Halm wiped Nix's tears away, kissing his forehead gently as he held back tears of his own.
"You can't hide this forever, Nix," Halm said gently. "He would find out eventually, Nix, and he'll be even more hurt than if you stop trying to bury everything. You're body, you're mind are human now, even if you are not. And… To hide this suffering, you'll end up hurting everyone. Yourself, me, Cas."

@Fraust

Cas grinned more brightly and nuzzled against Zachary's cheek. "I've never done a puzzle before today. I think they're fun!" He picked up the last couple of pieces and stuck them into place. "Done!"
Nix buried his face in Halm's chest. "W-What am I even supposed to say?" He asked weakly. "I dunno what's wrong with me…"

@ElderGodSwimwithGamers group

"You did amazing!" Zachary said. He smiled at Cas, leaning into the nuzzling. "And I'm glad they're fun. You're good at figuring them out. You're quite bright." Zachary grinned.
"Just… You don't have to say anything, Nix. Just… Just be open with Cas. You… You just have a hard time with emotions. You've hidden them for so long for Cas's sake, you've hurt yourself." Halm kissed Nix's head, holding him close.
